International academic conference opening speechDistinguished guests,distinguished delegates,ladies and gentlemen,and all the friends: It’s my great honor to announce here,Chinese Society of International Law’s annual conference today opened in Southeast university.Our respectable guests are here getting together to discuss the development of the 21st century international law.As honorary President of China international law,please allow me to give all of you my warmest welcome and thanks for your friendly coming.We feel so proud and appreciated as well to be the host of the event.Chinese Society of International Law was established in 1980,,which is one of the most prestige law professional academic organizations.It made an important contribution to the development of China’s international academic career.As a researcher engaged in international law research,I’m very happy to see the Southeast university have the opportunity to undertake international law academic activities in China.The 20th century has passed,in the past nearly a century,I witnessed the development and expansion of the China International law in China.We have reasons to believe that China’s international law will grow into a plant trees in the twenty-first century.Here I’d be delighted to introduce our attendees in brief.Apart from our students,most of the delegates and guests are all experts with significant achievements,who are related in this field from all over the world.As the host,I would like to take this opportunity to give you a general introduction about our school of law.Southeast university law school restored department of law in 1995 and set up school of law in 2006.After more than ten years of development, the scale unceasingly expands, the quality is increasing day by day.Our school regards it as one of the major developing subject.School of law and its scientific research institution commit to the development of stable cooperation relationship with domestic and foreign famous universities to timely grasp the latest research results of the subject abroad.After a long period of accumulation,we have formed an abundant teaching and scientific research Strength,which own a strong team of teachers that has an extensive theoretical knowledge and wide experience.Every delegates here,when we has been in the twenty-first century,the international political relationship and economic relationship are changing profoundly.China also faces big opportunities and challenges.Think and grasp the development trend of the twenty-first century international law,is one of the glorious mission and obligatory responsibility that the era have entrusted to each of us.The conference will discuss approximately from the international public law,international private law and international economic law.The meeting is supposed to last for three days and to be separated into two parts.To begin with,we’ll invite some representatives from our guests to give lectures about their latest researches and reports on the issue,and then we will have some group discussion.Concrete discussion topics include:economic globalization trend under the principle of national sovereignty;The exemption of the country’s and their property;Humanitarian intervention and state sovereignty;The establishing international criminal law court’s influence on national sovereignty;The implementation of the international lawissues;China’s accession to the WTO legal issues;The Internet impact to the traditional jurisdiction rules and electronic business problems;The draft of the Hague convention on jurisdiction and international commercial dispute settlement mechanism; The new development of international investment law; International financial services and legal issues, a total of ten topic.Some problems relate to our national interests and foreign policy, some problem has for the Chinese scholars over the years has been an attention or the Chinese scholars over the years,some is a new legal problem as a result of the rapid development of contemporary science and technology.Overall,the above issues summarize the current hot issues,focus issues and difficult issues in the scope of International law in contemporary China.Today,international law masters are all gathered here.I sincerely hope you speak freely and contribute to the prosperity and development of Chinese international law’s academic career.During the conference,we are pleased to be your guide to Nanjing.If anything needed,don’t hesitate to contact us.Finally,I wish the conference a complete success and I wish you an unforgettable experience here.Thanks!。
