数词讲解

数词1 数词的定义和种类表示数目多少或顺序先后的词叫做数词(numeral)。
数词与不定式代词很相似,其用法相当于名词与形容词。
数词有两种。
表示数目多少的数词叫做基数词(cardinal numeral),如one,ten,fifty-two 等。
表示顺序先后的数词叫做序数词(ordinal numeral),如first,tenth,fiftieth等。
2 基数词1)1-12的基数词是:one 1, two 2, three 3, four 4, five 5, six 6, seven 7, eight 8, nine 9, ten 10, eleven 11, twelve 12.13-19,皆由3-9加后缀-teen构成,即:thirteen 13, fourteen 14, fifteen 15, sixteen 16, seventeen 17, eighteen 18, nineteen 19. (注意thirteen,fifteen,eighteen的拼法)20-90等十位数均由2-9加加后缀-ty构成,即:twenty 20, thirty 30, forty 40, fifty 50, sixty 60, seventy 70, eighty 80, ninety 90.21-29由十位数20加个位数1-9构成,中间须有连字符“-”,即:twenty-one 21, twenty-two 22, twenty-three 23, twenty-four 24, twenty-five 25, twenty-six 26, twenty-seven 27, twenty-eight 28, twenty-nine 29.其它的十位数照些类推,如:thirty-one 31, forty- two 42, fifty-three 53, sixty- four 64, seventy-five 75, eighty-six 86,ninety-seven 97.2)百位数由1-9加hundred构成,如包含十位数及个位数,中间用and连接,也可以不用;如只包含个位数,即十位数为零时,则and不可省。

3. 表示整十的基数词用复数形式可以表示人的大约岁数或年代。
如:He is in his early twenties. 他才二十出头(from 。

III. 序数词1. 许多序数词是由相应的基数词后加词尾-th构成的,如four / fourth,six / sixth,ten / tenth,sixteen / sixteenth,但是nine变为序数词是ninth,而不是nineth。
2. twentieth, thirtieth, fortieth 等表示整十的序数词,由相应的基数词将词尾y改为ie,再加-th 构成。
3. first, second, third 通常可缩写为1st, 2nd, 3rd。

5. 基数词变序数词的规律 基数词变序数词有一定的规律,口诀如下:
基变序,有规律,词尾加上-th; 一、二、三,特殊记,词尾字母t、d、d; 八去t,九去e,ve要用f替; ty将y变成i,th前面有个e; 要是碰到几十几,前用基来后用序。

【用法讲解】一、基数词。
1. 基数词的写法或读法。
(1)对于20以内的基本的数字,需要同学们牢记。
要注意其中的一些规律。
例如:13-19的数字都是“-teen”结尾等。
(2)十位数与个位数之间要加连字符。
例如:23→twenty-three(3)百位数与个位数之间要加and。
例如:201→ two hundred and one 642→ six hundred and forty-two 拓展:除此之外,较大的数字是将数字由右向左每三位加一个逗号,使一个数字分成几个小节,第一个逗号前用thousand(千),第二个逗号前用million(百万),第三个逗号前用billion(十亿),然后依次读出(写出)。
例如:68,343 sixty-eight thousand, three hundred and forty-three13, 526, 300 thirteen million, five hundred and twenty-six thousand, three hundred 注意:英语中没有“万”和“亿”这两个单位,只有“百万(million)”和“十亿(billion)”;因此“一万”是用10个千,也就是“ten thousand”来表示的,“一亿”是用“one hundred million”来表示的。
2. 基数词的用法(1)表示确切数目时,hundred,thousand和million只能用单数,不能变复数;但表示不确定的数目时,要用复数形式,并且要加上of。

这些词的用法极为相似,需注意的用法有:
①当这些词与具体数字连用时,通常不加复数词 尾-s, 也不后接介词 of。如:
three score eggs.
a man of three score years.
5、年龄\年代表达法 ①表示在某个世纪的几十年代,用“in the +逢十 的基数词的复数”。基数词的复数若用阿拉伯数 字表示,可直接加s,也可加’s。如: in the nineties/90s/90’s ②表示某人几十多岁这样的约略年龄,用 “in one’s + 逢十的基数词的复数(如 tens, twenties, thirties等)”来表达。如: in her early forties
(3)倍数用在表示度量名词前,其基本结构为: 倍数 + the + size / length / weight … + of + 表示 比较对象的名词,也可用于倍数 + what引导的从 句中。 This room is three times the size of that one. The college is twice what it was 5 years ago. You can’t imagine that rats eat 40 to 50 times their weight.

6、倍数的表达方式 (1)倍数用在as + 形容词 / 副词(原级)+ as结 构之前。 They have three times as many cows as we do. (2)倍数放在形容词或副词的比较级之前或by + 倍数用在比较级之后。 This rope is four times longer than that one. They produced more products in 2001 than those in 2000 by twice.

④ dozen, score两词与数词,a few, many, several连用修饰名词复数时,都要用单数,其后 的介词of有无均可。但是,习惯上score多与of连 用,而dozen很少与of连用. 如:two score (of) workers

③当这些词不与具体数字连用,而是表示不确定 的泛指数时,则不仅要加复数词尾-s, 而且要后接 介词 of, 然后才能接名词。如: I’ve read it dozens (scores) of times. Thousands of students entered the contest. Millions of people died in the war. 注:若不出现名词,则不用介词 of。如: Millions (of people) are homeless. 千千万万的 人无家可归。
