对口升学的规范说法是普通高校单独招生考试，所谓"单招"，是国家有目的、有计划地从职业中学毕业生中招收高校学生的专项措施，以满足职业中学毕业生升入大学继续深造的要求。

对口高考是:
1、对口高考是面对中等职业学校毕业生进行的招生考试。
第一、对口高考属于普通高校招生，与高中生参加的高考属于同一类型，考试时间相同，每年6月7～8日，都是由国家教育主管部门按照一定程序统一组织的考试。
与普通高考考上的大学性质完全相同。
第二、面向职业院校，技工院校的中职毕业生招生，普通高中考生不得参加，考试科目为语文、数学、英语+综合。
总分750分，考生根据中职专业分为十几类，每类专业课不同，招生计划和录取也分类进行。
2、对口高考所开设的课程难度普遍低于普通高中，特别是数学和英语，教材的难度比普高教材低，这对中职生来说是非常有利的。
3、录取的渠道和方式相同。
由国家教育主管部门按照一定程序分别划定普通高考及对口高考建档线，网上统一录取。
对口升学问答

然而，许多家长和学生只知道通过普通高中升入大学这一途径，却不了解职业教育的对口升学同样可圆大学梦。
是对口升学呢?
所谓对口升学，就是普通高等院校对口招收职业中专，技工学校，职业高中的应、往届毕业生。
“对口”是指所报专业所学专业相同或相近。
对口升学与普通高中升学相比有自身的优势:
其一：对口升学考试内容固定，凡职业学校，技工院校应届或往届毕业生均有报考资格。
考试与普通高考时间相同。
考试分文化和专
业综合两部分，语、数、外共360分，专业390分，总分750分。
例如:技校数控专业的毕业生，对口升学可报机械类本科或专科的专业，除考语、数、外、专业考试内容涵盖技校所学基础内容，如:公差、金属材料、机械制图、机械基础、数控工艺、数控编程等课程。
2015年机械对口本科录取分数线为470分左右。
其二：同一院校招生中对职业教育对口升学考试录取分数大大低于普通高中录取分数，而且学生在校和毕业后待遇完全相同。
