Todd: Um , Kawabe you said you used to be a bike delivery person.Kawabe: Yes, I was. It was not very long but I was doing that for like 6 months.Todd: Do you mean push bike or motorcycle?Kawabe: Push bike? What is a push bike?Todd: Push bike is like the one you ride with you legs.Kawabe: Oh, no, no. no. The motorcycle.Todd: Motorcycle! OK.Kawabe: Yes! Yes! 400 cc. I forget the name of the bike, but it was kind of one really fast, and then, you know what they are doing, they just go, OK, if you are sending a letter, a very important document, you want to send it to somewhere really fast, very, very quickly!Todd: Like for a signiture of something.Kawabe: Yeah, whatever it is! Like and then, you call me. You call to my company and the company call to my mobile or beeper, and then, "hey Kawabe, you go to that place," and you get the address, and I look it up in my map, and I go to your place and pick up the thing and deliver to your receiver.Todd: Oh, to the receiver, to the recipient (Yeah), the recipient.Kawabe: And then since it's a bike delivery it's always something you've got to deliver really fast, so which means it's a really dangerous job, you know, so many people, my colleagues had a car accident.Todd: Oh really!Kawabe: Definitely, if you,..Todd: Not you right? You were OK?Kawabe: Not me! Since I thought I, you know, I can have a really big accident if I keep on this job, that is why I quit.Todd: Good choice.Yeah!Kawabe: If you do that job for one year, definitely, you'll have one accident at least.Todd: Seriouly!Kawabe: Yeah! Seriously!Todd: Man, wow! I heard something similar in the U.S. Big truck drivers, on average over their career, kill at least one person.Kawabe: Yeah, the same kind of thing, you know! Especially in Tokyo. You know, there's millions of cars and motorcycles, and people walking on the street, you know it's really dangerous, and even if you are a safe driver, someone's gonna hit you, (Yeah) so.Todd: There's nothing you can do.Kawabe: You can run away if you are on the street but there's no place to run away, so, anyway, that was, that was an exciting job. I really enjoyed that because you are always outside. The rainy days, you know, I didn't like that, but on the sunny day, autumn, spring, and it was great to drive in Tokyo city. You could go everywhere and meet a lot of people and so. Yeah, I met one person, he was a manga writer. How do you say?Todd: Yeah, manga writer, sure, yeah!Kawabe: And then the publishing company asked me to take, how do you say, the document for the next week?Todd: Oh, like the, the new issue. (Yeah) Yeah, the first draft, or whatever.Kawabe: Yeah, and then he had to finish that one like until that day, so "Hey, Kawabe, you go to that manga writer's house and pick up the documents he's gonna give you, and then you bring that, the draft, how do you say? (Yeah) to the publishing company." OK, and I'd been to his house and I had to wait like four hours in front of his door cause you know, you can imagine, he couldn't finish up his work (Yeah, yeah) so he like in every thirty minutes he comes to the door, and says, "Oh, I'm so sorry! I'm gonna finish it in 10 minutes. It will be done in the next 10 minutes." And then he goes back and I wait and I just kept waiting from the door and actually, four hours later, he gave me the manga.Todd: Really! (Yeah!) Did you read it on the way?Kawabe: No, yeah, I was really tempted but I couldn't do that, and yeah, I broughtthat to the publishing company. That was so funny! Todd: Cool story!。

Lesie: Sure, I'll tell you about my hobbies. Simon: OK. What are they? Lesie: My first hobby is going to the gym. I go to the gym three times a week. I do floor exercises, aerobics classes, swimming and I do weight training.
Simon: Of all those things, what are your favorites? What's your favorite? What's your favorite thing to do?
Lesie: My favorite thing to do is either swimming or what they call auqa-aerobics. Simon: Aqua-aerobics? What's that? Lesie: Well, actually, there's different kinds of aqua-aerobics. It's just like an aerobics class but it's in a swimming pool, so there's, so you're not putting pressure on your joints when you're jumping up and down.
原版英语口语情景对话第0342集:电影评论-精选教育文档

Todd非常喜欢电影,但他有三个关于电影的批评想指出来,一起来看看都是什么吧。
Todd: OK. I'm going to talk about movies. I love movies. I think many, many people around the world today love movies. I probably see one or two movies a week on DVD in my room. I watch the movies on my computer so I am a big, big fan of movies, and I watch them all the time, but I have three big complaints about movies, about Hollywood, my country, that I wish they would change. The first complaint is that movies have too many guns. This really bothers me. If you go into a video store and you look at the cover of all the movies, almost on 50% or more of the movie covers there is somebody holding a gun, and I think this is absolutely crazy. In my country, unfortunately there are many guns, but in reality, you never see guns. People have guns, but it's not common to see a person with a gun and in movies, there's always guns and shooting and killing and violence and blood and I just think it's unnecessary, so I really wish that they would not have so many guns in movies and maybe not so much violence. My second complaint is that the stories of most of the movies today from Hollywood are terrible. They're so bad that you can't even watch the movie. I guess most movies now are geared towards special effects and visual effects so the story is often really bad and I think that's just terrible. I wish Hollywood would make fewer movies, and concentrate on movies with a really good story, like my favorite movie is a movie called "Wallstreet" and it just has a fantastic story. Another movie I really liked was "The Paper" and also "Field of Dreams" and both these movies have really good stories and almost no special effects, so I think that we don't need so many special effects in movies. And my last thing, my last complaint about movies, is that, or Hollywood, that they stop only using beautiful people. Every time you see a movie, or movie stars, it's always really beautiful people, but in reality most of us, definitely myself, we're not beautiful. Most people look average so why don't they just use actors and actresses that look average. I'm sure that there are many, many really good actors and actresses that just aren't beautiful and they would do a fantastic job in a movie and it would be a really good story, compelling story, but they don't get the role because they're not beautiful and they're not young, and I just think that's kind of sad. I know that movies are the way they are because they are geared towards younger people, but I think there's a lot of older people, like myself, I'm 35, who would like to see more movies with good stories, less violence, less special effects, good writing, and people that look average like everybody else.第 1 页。

听Steve讲讲他任务做过的最糟糕的工作什么吧。
Marion: So Steve what's the worst job you've ever had?
Steve: Ah, let's see. The worst job I've ever had has to be Fort Fun in East Born.
Marion: What's Fort Fun?
Steve: Fort Fun is fun for children but it isn't fun for the spotty 16 year olds who have to work there, so some have the good fortune to operate go-carts and other things like that. I had the great fortune to work in the tearoom with an old lady called Brenda.
Marion: What was Brenda like?
Steve: Brenda was basically a witch and she had two offspring which were also going to probably a witch training school, and they'd come around and they'd gossip and, but Brenda would always notice in mid gossip whether I'd, if I'd stirred the tea one revolution too few and then she'd be on me, as it is, so I had to serve ice-creams and scalding hot tea from a spitting tea machine that wasn't working properly from two hatches. One, one looking out onto the beach, and one actually inside Fort Fun (Alright) so inside Fort Fun was bearable, because, and also all of this time you have to bear in mind that I was wearing a cowboy hat and a little cowboy waistcoat with a sheriff's badge on it, and I had two holstered plastic guns which I was advised by the manager to like whip out and pretend to shoot like any young kid that came up there. Anyway, that wasn't so bad, having to suffer that indignity, you know lack of dignity, but when it came to serving from the hatch, from the sea front, where all the surfers would come and get their tea, and obviously that provided great amusement to them, and anyway, to cut a long story short, I lasted about three weeks before deciding f*ck it, I'd rather be poor for the summer, then have people going yeah, that's him as I walked out.
Marion: That's the cowboy from Fort Fun?
Steve: Yeah, that is.
Marion: Brilliant. Thanks Steven.
Steve: You're welcome.
