It’s my great honor to be here to share my lesson with you.I will begin this representation with seven parts. Analysis of the teaching material,the students, the teaching aims, the important and difficult points, the design thought, the teaching method and learning strategies, the teaching procedures and the blackboard design.Part 1. Analysis of the Teaching MaterialTeaching Material: The content of this lesson is Senior High English for China Book7 module 1 Basketball---- “Listening and Speaking”. This module is about basketball game. By studying of this module, students will be able to learn knowledge about basketball game , and some famous basketball player in history, such as Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Yao Ming; and develop the interest in basketball sport. At the same time, let the students learn how to write a reply. From this lesson, it starts from listening to speaking.Listening: There are three parts in listening. The first part is pre-listening test made from the textbook, which is about some basketball terms and will turn up in the listening material, aiming to have a good preparation for the listening part. The second part is to listen to a conversation of part 1, which is about a commentary from two commentators speaking at the beginning of a game of The Chicago Bulls with The Houston Rockets. After listening to part 1, students will be given four multiple-choice questions to test students’ listening ability. The third part is to listen to a conversation of part 2, then fill in the ten blanks, most of which are adjectives.Speaking: Speaking is an activity based on the listening part, because students have listened many adjectives to express people’s feelings, emotions and attitude,then teacher instruct students to make full use of the adjectives to talk about the topic “the sport I love most and hate most” and pair-work to make a conversation. About five minutes later, invite three or four pairs to show their conversation.Module PositionThe Listening part is based on the Introduction and Reading parts, which supports this lesson very well, including some key words and phrases in this module, Speaking part focus on the topic of sport, enable students to talk about their ideas freely.Part 2. Analysis of the studentsThe students of this class are the average students.Advantages: as senior high three, most students have the independent learning habits, moreover, boy students have known about basketball game very well, and the Chinese basketball player Yao Ming will be talked about in the listening part, which is a good attraction for students.Disadvantages: most students don’t like speaking English,and lack of courage. In addition, when they are listening, they can’t use some listening skills to help them get a better understanding of the listening material.Part 3. Analysis of Teaching Aims, the Important and Difficult PointsTeaching Aims1.Knowledge aims(1)The students can master the usage of the important words and expressions in the listeningmaterials of this module.(2) The students can use English to express their own ideas.2. Analysis of the Design ThoughtAccording to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, students need to have the comprehensive language ability, which including language skills, language knowledge,emotional attitude and learning strategies. And listening and speaking teaching is a good way for it.Therefore, the core of this class is how to use the textbook effectively and improve students’listening and speaking abilities. From basketball terms, multiple- choice questions, micro-lesson, filling the blanks to the output part--speaking, encouraging students to learn to learn and work in individual and cooperation.Part 5. Teaching Methods and Learning StrategiesAs is known to us all, a good teaching method requires that the teacher should help students develop a good sense of the English language.
