中南大学大学英语口语考试题目(2)

DO YOU THINK THAT HOME-SCHOOLING IS UNSUITABLE FOR MOST FAMILIES ?A(FOR) B(AGAINST)A--In my opinion,home-schooling maybe suitable for some special families and their children, but is not suitable for most families. Schools have been in existence for centuries as suitable place to educate student. School education is more disciplined ,organized ,standard ,comprehensive ,as opposed to home-schooling .There is no doubt that school education should be more suitable for most families and their children .B--I don't think I can agree with the view just expressed, like most things ,home-schooling has its positive side and negative side .but the advantage of home-schooling ,I think ,far outweigh its disadvantage .A--There are many issues to consider .Home-schooling becomes the primary job of the parent once it's started .Parent don't need to have PhD's in order to teach their children. But, if a parent has had only 7th grade education, it's going to be hard to teach higher levels. If a parent can't read, then it's very difficult to teach another person anything that involves any level of reading.B--Such parent that you said just is only a few part .Though people can't home-school through college ,most families could provide a better quality education to their children through primary even senior school .And the purpose of education should not be filling a child with fact like public school .We should educate our children for life ,not just for achievement test .A--It's feared that in home-schooling children may not be able to rise above the level of academic achievement of their parent .Not every father or mother is a good teacher who is experienced in teaching ,you know .B--Study after study has show that children that are home-schooling outrank their public and private school peer in every academic area .There is also the benefit of reducing your children exposure to peer pressure regarding drug alcohol and sexual activities .it's also an alternative for families living in isolated rural location or living temporary aboard .A--That most home-schooler seem to live on remote farm or have unique lifestyle make it possible for them to be deeply involved in their children education ,but home-schooling children might lose their social skill .It may be difficult to foster in home-schooling a sense of the collective ,cooperation ,team work ,communication skill .B--As you said ,may be all of us should think it out again .IF THE ONLY WAY TO PRESERVE PEACE IS TO PREPARE FOR WAR ?A(FOR) B(AGAINST)A--In my esteem ,preparing for war is the only way to preserve peace .If a county doesn't prepare for war ,he will have few concerns that he will not endeavour to strengthen military force .A liberty ever said ' live in worry ,die in happiness '.A country who has not strong military force ,some developed countries will tend to exploit them for some benefits or damage its benefit which may cause dispute that disobey the peace .B--Conflict should be resolved through peaceful means ,war is human tragedy ,millions of people die and families fall apart as result of war . In war everyone loses ,war creates suffering for both side .Preserve peace should use peaceful means ,prepare for war is not as easy as you said ,it will bring us many issue .A--Have you heard of Chair Mao 's word ' do you want peace ? Please go to prepare for war .By preparing for war ,then we will motivate and develop our potential to strengthen our country .' When the country become strong , I think it will guarantee peace .B--Have you though what price you would pay for prepare for war .Country in order to prepare for war will cost much money in army equipment ,and other country will cost more ,it will lead a terrible consequence --army race .More and more Weapon of Mass Destruction will be made ,people would become more and more weak ,because if these thing was used by terrorism ,the whole world will be involved in trouble .A--We will never be able to get rid of war .Just like developed countries will always have words in the world .It's a fact we can not change .if developing country becomes strong ,the devoted country will take a second thought before invade them or damage their benefit .B--I agree that we have to do some thing to stop thing .but anyhow ,We should try to solve it at the negotiation table .In conclusion ,prepare for war is not the only way to preserve peace ,there are more peaceful means .。

B: That’s right; it is credited to the science and technology development A: Science and technology constitute a primary productive force, theword said by Deng Xiaoping is right.B: agree, they transform our world and develop the society.A: so, living in Mars is not just a dream, it will come true.B: Perhaps someday we human can even travel around the solar system A: wow, it must be exciting. Hope that we are alive at that time.B: just work hard and make more money, the traveling will be expense. And that is merits.A: yes, you’re right, high-tech farming makes us have more choices to choose, makes our life more colorful.B: Especially in China, there are so many mouths feeding, and we need food as much as possible. Actually, without high-tech farming, we will be hard to meet the needs of people.A: that is the reality. Even so there are some disadvantages.B: yeah, it is so inhumane to animals, you know? In factory farming, a veal calf spends its whole life in a darkened stall,Unable even to turn around.A: Yes, I also hear that laying hens are kept bright almost 20 hours a day just to lay more eggs. How horrible, how inhumane.B: maybe it is dangerous to people health at the same time.A: why?B: Fully 80 percent of drugs are mixed with animal feed to preventdisease and to accelerate livestock growth. But you know, the number of products is getting more, but the quality is worse.A: oh, I get it; you mean that drugs abuse makes animals immune system damaged, so the quality becomes worse, and the people who eat these may get diseases more easily. Am I right?B: I can’t agree more, did you taste the chicken produced by factory farming?A: of course, it is tasteless, but cheap, so we see it everywhere, and we don’t have enough money to enjoy products produced by traditional farming, it is too dear to us.B: great minds think alike.A: actually, now the government has realized that high-tech farming is developed too fast to hurt the environment and people’s health. I hope.A: I hope too.Unit 4 reclaiming the intellectual life of posterityA: hello, guy, long time no see.B: Yeah, nice to meet you. What brings you here?A: oral English test brings me here.B: how about choosing education as the topicA: good idea. We are masters, and we have been students about 17 years B: Time flies.A: But society is developing. And many things are different.B: I’m all earsA: Have you read the reports that many senior high school students give up the College entrance exam in our country?B: YES, I Have. And what do you mean?A: It's a really different from days of ours. I remember we were Scrambling for the exam to get a opportunity to the University.B: That’s right; the phenomenon has become more and more common. A: so you think what brings about this Phenomenon? The future or some new choices?B: Maybe both. Most students think other ways are easier to make their dream come true, not to go to college. So they choose to study abroad or to work.A; it sounds reasonable. With the society development, students have more ways and chances to touch the world. Not just stay in university byreading books.B: And one reason is that many students have the point that current education can’t give us useful knowledge. It’s useless.A: So do you think what the chief task of education is?B: um, I think it is the job of education to help people to understand themselves and others better, by teaching them how to understand.A: yeah, agree .It tells us how to live better, how to learn but not to teach us how to find a girlfriend or a good job.B: actually people want too much from university education, which gives colleges heave pressure. That is why the quality of education becomes worse.A: In fact, society should create a good environment to education; it is good for its development.B: Right and universities should try their best to guide students. This is their duty.听力单元: UNIT 1 resource and energyA: Hey, man, do you have brothers or sisters?B: me? I am the only one child in my family, what about you?A: Two brothers and one sister.B: wow, how a big family.A: Yeah, with many children.B: More children can make family happier, but if too many, not good, just like the earth, the overpopulation makes her tired.A: excellently, as I know, in the years 2050, the population will be 10 billion.B: How terrible, there are too many people on the planet, and the overpopulation will cause many problems.A: Of course, on the earth, resources are limited, fossil oil, coal and so on, will be used up some years later, if population increases.B: Can’t agree more, it’s hard for the world to provide enough resources to meet so many people’s basic needs. More population, more resources consumed.A: maybe that is why the food crisis happens, not only in developing countries, but also in developed countries.B: Ha, yeah, right, especially in our country, China, there are more than 1 billion people; it means that on earth five people, one is Chinese.A: and resources are limited in our country. For example the farmland islack, which causes the great pressure of food.B: maybe the ‘one child’policy in our country is useful to limit population growth.A: actually the most effective measure, I think, although it is inhumane. B: that is the reality; we have no choice except this one. The overpopulation causes so many problems, not only food pressure, but also the chance of education, marriage, job and so on.A: What you said is right, as we know, the economy cake in our country isn’t enough big to everyone. Too many people may disturb the economy development.B: so government must take some measures to control population growth, it is very important.A: what are your suggestions?B: most important thing is improving people’s education level to help people thinking in right direction.A: Good, education is the one.B: develop economy and make more welfare policies.A: yeah, the welfare policy is not very perfect in our country, so most parents want to bring up sons to support themselves when they are old. B: so, more money, more safety, less children, resources savedA: get it.听力单元Unit 2 crime and punishmentA: hey, man, in our oral English test, what do you think we choose crime and punishment as the topic.B: why not?A: ok, I want to ask you a question, the question bears on the crime(这个问题与犯罪有关).B: just say it.A: do you know some movies about crime?B: of course I know, I have watched many movies, Inception, Seven, Prison break, and so on.A: yeah, you said it; these movies are good at crime indeedB: they are just movies. Talking about this, can you say some names of crimes?A: so many kinds of crimes that I can’t say them all out, just some examples.B: I’m all earsA: burglary(盗窃), rob, rape(强奸), murder, kidnap(绑架),and so on,B: Actually, as society advances, different kinds of crimes have been increasing day by day. Taking place in any city and every corner of society.A: yes, and crimes directly threaten citizen’s life, it makes people awayfrom secure.B: it does, crime is a big problem, not only for citizens, but also for societyA: if the crime rate is too high, the society development will be disturbed. B: so, what causes crimes happen?A: there are so many reasons, maybe poverty, lack of education, any thing making people unhappy may be the cause.B: crime is bad for everyone, so people should take some measures to make cities cleaner and safer.A: why don’t you give some suggestions?B: It’s clear that our government should pay more attention to control crimes, criminals must be punished, and citizens’ safety must be protected, which is government’s duty.A: Yeah, they must do something, maybe strengthening the force of police, and putting more laws into effect will be good choices.B: crime rate will decrease if they work, I believe it.A: For citizens, I think they should be aware the dangers of crimes, and learn how to protect themselves well. What do you think?B: Maybe kongfu will be helpful.A: Actually when people meet criminals, the best choice is protecting them from hurt, no matter what the criminals want, say yes.B: that is to say, where there's life, there's hope.A: Can’t agree more. By the way, do you hear that there happen some burglary in our campus, some students lose their purses or bikes. But the luck is no one gets hurt.B: How luck.A: Yeah, I hope managers must do something to protect us students.B: As I know, they are trying.A: Good news.B: yes, it is. Just wait and see.。

大学英语口语考试试题-10个口语话题

大学英语口语考试试题-10个口语话题

(1) 视听说 2 Unit1How does music affect our life?Music greatly affects our personal moods. Music can calm and revitalize us in a variety of ways. It elevates our moods above our personal fears and doubts and even reduces stress and pain levels. Music always exists in our life. Mothers usually sing smoothing songs to make their children get to sleep. At a sports meeting, fast and vigorous songs are played in order to lift athletes up. What’s more, quite a few students prefer to listen to a walkman while they are doing their homework. In a word, putting additional music in our life can be a powerfully enriching tool. (2) 视听说2 Unit2 T oday’s MoviesSeveral things are missing in today's movies: (1) Although there were some good romantic comedies in the 90's, there are very few today that really rival the screwball shows of the 30's and 40's.(2)Now that technical abilities have increased so dramatically with the development of computer graphics, too often special effects take the place of character development and the creation of a desirable and believable alternate world.(3) The element of fantasy is also missing(4)it leads us to star power.(3) 视听说 2 Unit3 Please talk about wedding ceremonies in China and in the U.S. In china, many Chinese believe that marriage is a major event in life, and they choose to spend a lot of money to celebrate it. Usually, the couple invites a large number of guests, who are seated at ten or more dining tables. The bride and the groom toast each other and the guests cheer. The parents of the couple may give speeches to express thanks to each other for bringing up such a nice young man or girl. Also, they wish the couple will love each other for life. The groom and the bride may also thank their parents. Weddings in the u.s vary as much as the people do, but church wedding is popular. The wedding party enters the church while the wedding march is played. When the wedding party is gathered by the altar, the bride and the groom exchange vows, then they exchange rings.(4)Ads in my eyes Every coin has two sides. Ads have positive effects as well as negative effects. On the one hand, through ads, we can know a new product and get information about products to make a choice. On the other hand, the large amounts of money spent on ads, of course, will be passed on consumers. What's more, producers often exaggerate their products. Misleading a lot of people to buy products. It also causes negative social effects. For example, The posters ruin the environment; ads usually encourage unnecessary buying; ads usually portray young and beautiful people, thus older, plain-looking people may feeling as if they do not belong to contemporary world, and so on. (5) 视听说 2 Unit5 What animals are usually kept as pets? Why? Dogs and cats usually kept as pets. Because dogs loyal to their owners and intelligent. They can carry out human instructions and perform fairly complicated functions. Moreover, with its strength and agility, the dog is capable of protecting the house and its master. Cats are also popular to be kept as pets, because cats have soft fur, meek tempers and cute faces, making people like them. What’s more, cats can bring a lot of pleasure to people by funny behaviors.(6) 视听说2 Unit6 Do you think fashion shows are necessary in today’s society? Why or why not?No, I don’t think so. Obviously fashion shows have been around for a long time in a various parts of the world. This fact shows that they are an indispensable part of the modern culture. However, I’d like to point out that the pursuit of fashion should not take up the greater part of our lives. After all, work and study are far more important than fashion shows.(7) 视听说 2 Unit7 What is your opinion of money? In my opinion, money can both benefit people and do harm to them. On the one hand, we can' deny that money is useful. We need money to buy t food, buy a house or pay our education cost. Money can make us live more comfortably. For example, with more money, we can help others and take part in more social activities and receive a good education, thus increasing our knowledge and developing our skills. On the other hand, some people try to get money by dishonest means, for example, they often cheat and gemble, even rob and kill people. Sooner or later, they will be punished by the law. Money can bring them nothing but misery.(8) 视听说 2 Unit8 Why do people commit crimes? What causes are especially important? Why? Many factors contribute to crime, such as poverty, the gap betweenthe rich and the poor, lack of education, emotional outbreaks and loose law enforcement. If one suddenly gets angry, he may be control over himself and injure or even kill people. Uneducated people may not know what punishments there are and go ahead boldly and foolishly. But lack of education is often linked with a lack of money. Poor people mayfeel miserable, and ill-feelings breed crime. Clearly, the widening gap between the rich and the poor plays a significant role in crime levels. Some people may commit crimes because of emotional outbreaks. Such people need a strong government and strict low enforcement to help them think twice before they leap. T o conclude, the gap between the rich and the poor and loose law enforcement may be especially important cause of crime.。
