那么如何在浩如烟海的众多论文中合理为每篇论文划分等级，则成为一个非常重要的事情。
举个例子，请回答以下几个问题。
1 EI会议论文和国内中文核心论文，哪个更加权威？2 国内中文核心论文和南大核心论文，哪个更加权威？3 只要是SCI论文，其文章质量一定比EI高吗？如果你不懂文章的等级划分，那么以上问题也许回答比较困难，下面就一一为您剖析。
首先谈谈SCI级别的论文，当然SCI在全球范围内属于最权威的论文，尤其是国际上比较出名的《自然》和《科学》杂志，上面的论文很多都具备获取罗贝尔奖的资格，并且这类论文审稿周期很长，专家审查很严格，对英文要求也比较高，所以可想而知，这类论文等级是最高的。
其次谈谈EI级别论文，EI也被称为全球核心，听名字貌似很高大上，但是要注意，EI有两种论文，一种是期刊论文（即JA），即EI源刊，一种是会议论文（即CA），也是我们经常说的EI会议论文。
这两种论文级别可不是一样的，EI的JA级别要比CA高。
同时还要注意，EI源刊有国内的，也有国外的，也有国内EI会议，国际EI会议之分，一般国内排在前面的EI源刊论文其级别完全不亚于SCI级别论文，这一点很重要。
再次谈谈国内的中文核心和南大核心，首先中文核心=北大核心，在国内目前算是最权威的学术论文，但是这并不是说南大核心就比中文核心第一个档次，其实这两者无法单一横向比较，因为中文核心大多收录自然科学类的论文，南大核心主要收录社会科学类论文，所以硬要比较这两者的话，只能说两者等级差不多。
还有说明一点，一般中文核心还是比那种比较水的EI会议等级要高的。
再谈谈国内的其它核心，如科技核心，这类文章质量一般，有些也是很水的，但是科技核心比普刊等级要高，因为比较科技核心也算是“核心”最后谈谈中文核心和南大核心的增刊，可以这么说，如果是增刊，那么基本上文章档次很低了，和普刊差不多，大多数增刊都是给钱就发的类型。
