本单元的教学内容紧密联系学生的生活实际，把知识和技能目标融汇在完成任务的过程之中，内容的安排体现了由浅入深、循序渐进的原则。
教学重点是使学生学会表达在过去时间内所做的事情。
而一般过去时涉及到动词过去式的变化规则和读音规则，是学生的学习难点。
这节课的主要句型是：Did you reed books /…？ Yes, I did. / No, I didn't. 难点是要求学生能够正确使用动词的原形和过去式形式。
3．学情分析通过前面几册的学习，学生已经接触并掌握了一般现在时、现在进行时、一般将来时等时态的用法。
而且，经过前面几个课时的学习，学生对一般过去时的含义、句子结构、用法以及动词过去式的构成规则已经有初步的了解。
因此，教师应在此基础上创设真实情境、组织有意义的任务或活动来展开一般过去时的教学。
