一、教材分析
本课是牛津英语8B Unit3 Reading第二部分。本节课是在上一节课的基础上对Reading部分的内容更深一层的学习。这一部分词汇量大，知识点多，学起来难度大。在设计这一课时时，要尽量分散难点，降低教学难度。让学生在轻松的状态下掌握语言要点，并对语言点进行熟练应用。在教学中采用小组活动和集体讨论等方法，来激发学生的积极性，提高学生的语言能力，同时培养学生的组织能力、合作精神和创新精神，让学生自己去学习，真正达到学以致用的目的。
二、学情分析
初二的学生求知欲比较强烈，爱发表见解，但是由于初中的知识点突然增多，有些学生会觉得应付不过来而产生对学习英语的惧怕心理。我们在备课时就要创设情景，充分调动学生的积极性，让他们喜欢英语，对学习英语感兴趣。培养他们创新能力及合作精神。
