本节课为该单元的第二课时，是一节阅读课，主要通过学习男孩本一家在美国阿拉巴马州暴风雨中的经历，了解暴风雨的相关地理知识，人们在暴风雨前的准备以及在暴风雨后的活动，以此来升华情感，解读标题。
同时培养学生的阅读策略，教会学生去欣赏一篇文章，并将一些语言点融入到情境中帮助学生去理解。
导入以视频的形式出现，既能给学生提供一些背景知识，也可以获取一些有关暴风雨的直观感受，激发学生的学习兴趣。
因为北方学生没有经历过暴风雨，对此没有特别深切的感受创设记者采访后写成文章的情境，拉近学生与教材的关系。
但是因为对学情不够了解，在此环节学生的反应不是很好，他们能够感受到暴风雨，但是语言表达能力不足。
如果能够再出示一些图片，可以降低该环节的难度。
对于阅读任务的设计，从整体把握到细节理解，让学生先从整体把握文章，再落实到细节。
而且不同的任务设计形式也不同，有表格的，有回答问题的，让学生不感到枯燥乏味。
对于标题，并没有让学生提前进行猜测和解读，也没有根据图片对文章内容进行预测，缺失了对学生这一阅读策略的培养。
另外，阅读任务的设计上内容过多，不够精简，让学生觉得任务繁琐，不能很好地调动他们阅读的兴趣，也不能更好地培养学生的阅读策略。
针对一些重难点知识，融入情境中去帮助学生理解。
借助图片和
声音，再加上语言的表达，让学生更容易理解和接受。
如put...over, beat...against, 这些知识点。
对于when&while的用法，通过学生自己做题，小组讨论，教师解读来完成。
但是处理得不够透彻，没有将这两个词进行同义句之间的转换，学生不能很好地去运用这两个句子。
如果能够设计一些练习题落实下来就更好。
作业的设计上与导入的情境相吻合，用对话的形式让学生课后对文章进行复习，在情境中再现当时的采访场景。
总之，本节课整体还是不错的，但是在一些细节处理上还需要好好推敲。
对于一些语言知识的处理还需要注意方式方法，如何让学生更容易地去接受是值得深思的。
