Today I am very glad to have the chance to stand there making the presentation about a great Chinese artist——Leslie Cheung.I believe you all have seen a film directed by Chen Kaige named “Farewell, My Concubine” yet. Known as the only one Chinese film that won the highest award of the International Film Festival in Cannes, France in 1993 called “Palme d‘Or Aw ard（金棕榈大奖）”, it has occupied the first place of Chinese movie list for many years. In addition, the film also won the FIPRESCI Award（国际影评人联盟大奖）, the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film and so on.The film “Farewell My Concubine ”, which is adapted from the Hong Kong woman writer Lilian Lee‘s novel of the same name, tells a story about two Beijing Opera actors’ sorrows and joys of life during more than half a century of Chinese history. This work had also screened in a number of countries and regions worldwide. There is no doubt that "Farewell My Concubine” is a world-class masterpiece. Cheng Dieyi, the role played by Leslie Cheung left deep impression to the audience because of his loyal but desperate love and heartbreaking eyes. Li Yaohui loves He Baorong from his deep soul, yet He Baorong dislikes the world just two of them. Eventually Li Yaohui understands that there is no possibility for them to get together again, so he leaves Buenos Aires.“Happy Together” is absolutely the most outstanding one of all Wong Kar-wai…s works technically. All the shooting techniques are just right. It has been the first time that the swagger slow motion is so close to the theme of a film itself.
