Monet was born in Paris, when he was five years old his family moved to Le Havre in Normandy. His father hoped that he had inherited the family grocery store, but Monet wanted to become an artist. At the age of 15, he was initially a minor celebrity because of his charcoal caricatures. Monet in Algeria became a soldier for two years (1860 -1862 years), and then he served seven years contract for typhoid, Monet’s aunt Mrs. Lecadre extricate him from the army, and let him to finish university art course.
