英语
十七. Say it with Flowers(1)
Young men often give flowers to young women when they are in love. The tradition may have come from Turkey(土耳其).
In the 1700s in Turkey, it was quite popular for people in love to send each other baskets full of strange things. The baskets were sent secretly to the person who was receiving it. Usually, an old woman who sold flowers or fruit on the street left the basket beside the door of that person.

花语寄情(1)
恋爱中(be in love)的年轻男士经常(often)送花(flower)给女友,这个传统(tradition)可能来自(come from)土耳其。

18世纪的土耳其,热恋中的人相互赠送装满奇怪(strange)物品的篮子,这种做法在当时很流行(popular)。

篮子(basket)被秘密地(secretly)送给接收篮子的人(person)。

通常(usually),由街上卖花或水果(fruit)的老婆婆把篮子送到那人的门旁边(beside the door)。

?
十七. Say It with Flowers (2)
These baskets included many kinds of gifts: flowers, stones,
candles, etc. Each thing in the basket had a special meaning. By working out the secret message hidden in each gift, the person who received the basket began to understand little by little the true feelings of the person who sent it.

花语寄情(2)
这些篮子里包括(include)许多种礼物(many kinds of gifts):花、石头(stone)、蜡烛(candle)等。

每样东西都有特殊的含义(special meaning)。

篮子接收者想出(work out)每件物品所暗藏(hide)的信息(message),然后就开始渐渐地(little by little)理解(understand)赠送者的真实感情(true feelings)。

?
十七. Say It with Flowers (3)
The idea of sending gifts of love with secret meanings quickly spread to other countries. However, as time passed, only sending flowers remained popular.
Flowers told young ladies about the feelings in the heart of young men. Each different flower had a different meaning. For example, the flowers from an orange tree meant,Pink carnations (康乃馨) meant,Yellow roses, on the other hand, meant,
Many flower dictionaries were made to help young people in love understand the meaning of the flowers they received. However, not all of the dictionaries agreed on the
meaning of each flower, so a person had to be careful about the flowers they chose to send.
By the 1880s, using flowers to send messages had become unpopular, and the more direct way of sending love letters began. Today, flowers are still considered a lovely gift, but the meaning for each kind of flower has been lost.

花语寄情(3)
这种赠送礼物传递秘密信息的示爱方式迅速传(spread)到其他国家(country),但是,随着时间的流逝,只有送花的传统保持(remain)了下来。

花把男士心(heart)中的感情传递给女士。

每种花都有不同的含义。

例如(for example),桔(orange)树上开的花表示,。

粉红色(pink)的康乃馨表示,。

另一方面(on the other hand),黄玫瑰(yellow rose)则意味着。

为了帮助恋爱中的年轻人理解他们收到的花所代表
的含义,人们编制出很多关于花的词典(dictionary)。

但是,对于每一种花的含义,不是所有的词典都能达成一致(agree on)。

因此,人们在送花时必须谨慎选择(choose)。

到了19世纪80年代,花语寄情已经不流行,写信成为更直接的(direct)示爱方式。

如今(today),花仍被认为(consider)是一种可爱的礼物,但以前每一种花的特定含义已经没有了。

十八. Learning by Doing and Going
Many of my classmates think they are forced to go to school. They say they are only interested in playing. But I love going to school, and my favorite subject is science. I like science because the experiments and field trips are exciting.
In science we do many exciting experiments in the lab. One time we made crystal form(晶形) in a bottle by using salt in water. Another time we watched how baby chicks are hatched(孵出).
We also take exciting field trips for science. We went to a museum and saw huge dinosaurs(恐龙) and tiny butterflies. On Tree-planting Day, we went to a forest and collected leaves.
It's good to play, but I would rather do experiments and go on field trips. That's why science is my favorite subject.

1Title: 30 Hours to Memorize 1600 Core Middle School English Words: The English Mastery Comeback StoryHey there, guys! Guess what? I'm going to share with you an epic tale of how I transformed from an English dunce to a vocabulary master in just 30 hours! Yep, you read that right – 30 hours was all it took for me to conquer a whopping 1600 core English words that every middle schooler should know. Buckle up, because this ride is going to be wild! Now, let me set the scene for you. I was just a regular kid, struggling with English like nobody's business. Whenever my teacher asked me a question, my mind went blank, and I'd stare back like a deer caught in headlights. It was a vicious cycle – the more I floundered, the more I dreaded English class. I even started avoiding my friends because I was too embarrassed to admit my English ineptitude. But then, something amazing happened. My parents, bless their souls, stumbled upon this miraculous language learningmethod that promised to transform my English skills in just 30 hours. At first, I was skeptical. How could anyone possibly learn 1600 words in such a short time? But my parents were determined, and they signed me up for this intensive course. On the first day, I walked into the classroom with a mixture of trepidation and curiosity. The instructor was this energetic lady who radiated confidence and enthusiasm. She explained that we would be using a combination of mnemonics, spaced repetition, and gamification to make the learning process engaging and effective.Let me tell you, those 30 hours were intense! We played word association games, created silly stories to remember tricky words, and even acted out vocabulary skits. At first, I felt like a fish out of water, but gradually, the words started sticking in my brain like superglue. The real magic happened during the spaced repetition sessions. We would review the words we learned at strategically timed intervals, reinforcing our memory and preventing the dreaded "forgot-it-all" syndrome. It was like having a personal vocabulary trainer constantly reminding me of the words I needed to know.As the hours ticked by, I could feel my confidence soaring. Words that once seemed like gibberish started making sense, and I found myself using them in conversation without even realizing it. My parents were over the moon, and my friends were in awe of my newfound English prowess. The climax of this epic journey came during the final review session. The instructor handed out a massive list of 1600 words, and we had to race against the clock to define as many as possible. I'll never forget the look on my parents' faces when I aced the test, scoring an impressive 95% accuracy! From that day on, English became my forte. I aced every test, participated in class discussions with gusto, and even started writing short stories in my newfound language. My teachers were amazed at my transformation, and my friends started seeking my help with their English assignments. So, there you have it, folks – the tale of how aonce-struggling kid became an English vocabulary master in just 30 hours. It wasn't easy, but with the right techniques and a whole lot of determination, anything is possible. Who knows, maybe one day I'll write a bestselling novel or become a famous English professor! In the meantime, I'll keep exploring the wonders of the English language, one word at a time. And if you ever find yourself struggling with vocabulary, remember my story and have faith – your comeback is just 30 hours away!篇230小时记忆初中核心1600单词英语逆袭王Hi everyone! My name is Timmy and I want to tell you about the amazing journey I went on to become the "English Vocabulary Superstar" in just 30 hours! It all started when I found out that I needed to learn 1600 core English words for junior high school. At first, I thought it was impossible, but with the help of some cool techniques, I became a memory master! So, how did I do it? Well, let me spill the beans! The first thing I did was create a study schedule. I divided the 1600 words into smaller groups and decided to learn 100 words each day. This way, it didn't seem overwhelming, and I could focus on a manageable number of words every day.To make learning fun, I turned it into a game. I made flashcards with the English words on one side and their meanings on the other. Then, I asked my mom to help me play a matching game. She would show me a flashcard with a word, and I had to find the corresponding meaning from a pile of cards. It was like playing a treasure hunt!Next, I discovered the power of mnemonics. Mnemonics are memory tricks that help you remember things easily. For example, to remember the word "abundant," I imagined a giant pizza with lots of toppings. Whenever I saw the word "abundant," I would picture that delicious pizza in my mind. It made the word stick in my memory!Another technique I used was creating funny stories. I turned the words into characters and made up stories about them. For instance, for the word "adventure," I imagined a brave little dog named Adventure who went on exciting journeys. Whenever I thought of the word "adventure," I would imagine Adventure exploring new places. It helped me remember the word and made me giggle too!To reinforce my learning, I started watching English movies and cartoons. I discovered that watching videos not only improved my vocabulary but also helped me understand how words were used in real-life situations. I even tried talking to my pet dog in English! He didn't understand me, but it was a fun way to practice speaking. After 30 hours of intense studying, I finally mastered all 1600 words! It was an incredible feeling of accomplishment. I couldn't wait to show off my new skills to my friends and teachers. The next day, during English class, our teacher gave us a surprise vocabulary quiz. I was nervous, but I remembered all the techniques I had learned. I used my flashcards, recalled the funny stories, and imagined the mnemonics. To my amazement, I aced the quiz! My friends were impressed, and my teacher was proud of my hard work.Learning 1600 core English words for junior high school seemed like a daunting task at first, but with a little creativity, dedication, and some cool techniques, I became the "English Vocabulary Superstar." It just goes to show that learning can be fun and exciting if you find the right way to do it.So, if you ever find yourself faced with a big challenge, remember to break it down, turn it into a game, and use your imagination. Who knows, you might become a superstar too!Keep learning and never give up. You can do anything you set your mind to!That's all for now. See you next time!Love,Timmy篇330小时记忆初中核心1600单词英语逆袭王Hey there, fellow students! Today, I want to share an amazing secret with you. Are you ready to become the ultimate English word master in just 30 hours? Well, get ready to embark on an exciting adventure of memorizing the core 1600 words of junior high school English!Learning new words might seem boring, but trust me, it can be a lot of fun if we approach it with the right attitude. So, let's dive in and discover the magic of words!First things first, let's break down this task into smaller, more manageable chunks. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day! We'll focus on learning 50 words per hour, which means 25 words every half an hour. Sounds doable, right? To make the process more enjoyable, let's turn it into a game. Grab a friend or study buddy, and challenge each other to see who can remember more words. Create flashcards with the words written on one side and their meanings on the other. Now, let the memory battle begin!Start by going through the flashcards, reading the word out loud, and trying to recall its meaning. If you get stuck, don't worry! Take a moment to think or ask your study buddy for help. Repetition is key, so keep going over the words until they stick in your brain like glue!To make it even more exciting, you can come up with fun actions or gestures for each word. For example, if the word is "happy," you can jump up and down with a big smile on your face. If it's "cat," pretend to walk like a cat. These actions will help your brain make stronger connections and remember the words more easily. Now, let's talk about using these words in sentences. Learning words in isolation is one thing, but using them in context is where the real magic happens. Create silly or funny sentences that include the words you've learned. It could be something like, "The happy cat danced in the rain." Trust me, this will make you giggle and remember the words effortlessly! But wait, there's more! To truly become an English word wizard, immerse yourself in the language. Watch English movies or cartoons, listen to English songs, and read English books. The more you expose yourself to the language, the more familiar and comfortable you'll become with the words you've learned.Remember, my fellow young linguists, learning should always be a joyful experience. Don't stress yourself out trying to memorize everything at once. Take breaks, have fun, and celebrate your victories along the way. Learning English can open up a whole new world of opportunities for you!So, are you ready to embark on this 30-hour challenge and become the ultimate English word master? I believe in you! Let's set sail on this epic journey of words and watch as you become the reigning champion of English vocabulary!Good luck, my friends, and may the words be with you!篇430小时记忆初中核心1600单词英语逆袭王嗨,大家好!我是小明,一个快乐的小学生。
