Paraphrasing

• Almost all, I say, for I would not go so far as to pretend that to read a book will assuage the pang of hunger or still the pain of unrequited love.
• Whatever the learned say about a book, however unanimous they are in their praise of it, unless it interests you, it is no business of yours.

1 What is paraphrasing?
Paraphrasing is the restatement of a text or utterance, giving the same meaning in another form. It is the expression of what someone has written or said in another, possibly clearer or more comprehensible way.
E.g. 1 The various pilot projects experimented first in Shenzhen and then spread nationwide have given the city a name for China’s showcase for its opening up efforts and reform.
On the other hand, interpreting is audience-centered , i.e., the ultimate goal of interpreting is to ensure that the audience understand the message. But sometimes cultural as well as intellectual gaps do exist between the speaker and the audience. Paraphrasing plays a big role in narrowing the gap between the two parties.
