宗教对艺术的影响英语作文

Religion has been a profound influence on art throughout history, shaping the way artists express their creativity and communicate their ideas. As a high school student with a keen interest in both art and spirituality, Ive always been fascinated by the interplay between these two domains. This essay explores how religion has impacted art, drawing from various examples and personal experiences.Growing up in a multicultural environment, I was exposed to a plethora of religious beliefs and artistic expressions. One of the most striking examples of religious influence on art is the Renaissance period in Europe. During this time, Christian themes dominated the art world, with paintings, sculptures, and frescoes depicting biblical stories and figures. Artists like Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci were commissioned by the Church to create masterpieces that would inspire devotion and reverence among the faithful. Their works, such as the Sistine Chapel ceiling and The Last Supper, are not only artistic achievements but also powerful religious statements. My own journey with art began with a visit to a local church where I was captivated by the stained glass windows. The vivid colors and intricate designs told stories of saints and biblical events. I remember feeling a sense of awe and wonder, realizing that art could be a conduit for spiritual expression. This experience sparked my curiosity about the role of religion in shaping artistic styles and themes. In Hinduism, the intricate carvings on temple walls and the detailed sculptures of deities reflect the rich mythology and spiritual beliefs of the religion. The dance poses of Lord Shiva, for example, are not just artisticrepresentations but also symbolic of the cosmic dance of creation and destruction. As I learned more about Hindu art, I began to appreciate the depth of meaning behind each form and figure.Buddhism, too, has left an indelible mark on art, particularly in the creation of serene and contemplative spaces like the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar or the Borobudur in Indonesia. These structures are not only architectural marvels but also serve as places for meditation and spiritual reflection. The tranquility conveyed through these spaces is a testament to the power of art to evoke a sense of inner peace and connection to the divine.Islamic art, with its prohibition on depicting human and animal figures, has developed a unique aesthetic that emphasizes geometry, calligraphy, and floral motifs. The Alhambra in Spain and the Taj Mahal in India are prime examples of Islamic arts ability to create spaces that are both visually stunning and deeply spiritual. The intricate patterns and designs serve as reminders of the infinite nature of Gods creation. In contemporary times, the influence of religion on art is still evident, albeit in more subtle ways. Artists like Makoto Fujimura, who combines traditional Japanese painting techniques with Christian themes, or James Turrell, who creates immersive installations that explore the intersection of light and space, are pushing the boundaries of what it means to create religious art in the modern world. My own artistic endeavors have been deeply influenced by my explorationof different religious traditions. Ive found that incorporating elements of spirituality into my work allows me to express my innermost thoughts and emotions in a way that resonates with others. Whether its a painting inspired by a Buddhist mandala or a poem that reflects on the beauty of a Hindu temple, my art is a reflection of my spiritual journey. In conclusion, the influence of religion on art is multifaceted and farreaching. It has the power to inspire, to challenge, and to connect us to something greater than ourselves. As I continue to explore the world of art and spirituality, I am constantly reminded of the profound impact that religious beliefs can have on the creative process. Whether its through the grandeur of a Renaissance masterpiece or the simplicity of a Zen rock garden, the interplay between religion and art is a testament to the human desire to seek meaning and beauty in all aspects of life.。

They include instructions to worship only God and to keep the sabbath, and prohibitions against idolatry, blasphemy, murder, theft, dishonesty, and adultery. Those ten commandments have a certain positive influence to human’s moral sense.2.2 Islam,TaoismIslam is the second-largest religion in the world and arguably the fastest-growing religion in the world. Muslims believe the Qur’an to be theverbal divine guidance and moral direction for mankind, just like Bible to Christians. They have five duties incumbent on every Muslim. These duties are profession of faith, prayers, fasting during the month of Ramadhan, giving of alms, and pilgrimage to Mecca.Taoism is a philosophical and religious tradition that emphasizes living in harmony In Taoism, however, Tao denotes something that is both the source and the driving force behind everything that exists. From what have been listed above, there are many similarities and dissimilarities of four major religions. They are the humanism, the caring for people; the anticipation towards beautiful life.Of course historically, theologically there are points of argument and discussion and debate. Even within each faith people will have different ways of interpreting how to look at the world. But from the overall global picture , the four faiths have a great deal in common. Among what the three faiths share: an unshakable believe in their faith, an incisive understanding of their own rules , and a moral certainty that, charity is the duty of all faithful followers.Chapter ThreeEffects of Religion towards People in Different Cultures3.1 WesternWhen it comes to the effects of religion towards western people, it can be represented by Christianity. People from different area observe different way of life. When they meet together, they habitually act in their own way. And then good communications are interrupted.Secondly, ideological awareness. Ways of thinking decide what kind of the man is. If one has no high sense of treating other religion carefully ,then problems are destined to occur when talking.Thirdly, religion repelling. This reason is quite evident in today’s world, particularly in middle Asia. Those people who embrace prejudice to other beliefs think their faith are always the best and shall be spread over the world, while others must be stamped out. No more word, problem arising!Besides, shortage of basic knowledge of religious etiquette. People have no much knowledge of other people’s religion taboos or customs. So when theylink up together, unpleasant situations will happen. The four factors listed above are only part of reason. Certainly,Many elements can impact a ideal conservation.Chapter FiveThe Importance of Religious EtiquetteReligious etiquette has become critical elements required for all people in the world if one wants to go out to contact with other people. As the distance between people continue to expand and bring people closer, the most important element of successful conversation outcomes may be the appreciation and respect for regional, country, religious and cultural differences. For instance, a man who believes Islam may have up to four wives if he believes he can treat them equally, while a woman may have only one husband. They use only the right hand for eating and drinking. Also,Muslims are restricted in their diet and they prohibit foods include pork products, blood, carrion, and alcohol. So one should avoid those taboos when sitting together with different beliefs. A person with good etiquette is an agreeable companion, because he is always thinking of others and respect others. Learning the skills of proper religious etiquette, manners, one can become a qualified communicator and avoid many unnecessary trifles. Most importantly, people can learn from each other, and then enrich their creeds. The religious conflicts will decline as well by doing this way.ConclusionTo understand the contemporary world, as well as the past, we need a sophisticated understanding of religion. The contemporary world is shaped by religions.Hardly a day goes by when there is not some manifestation of religion(religious identity, religious practice, religious conflict) reported on the TV or in newspapers.
