A Surprise Encounter。

I was walking down the street when I saw a cute little puppy. It was wagging its tail and looking up at me with big, innocent eyes. I couldn't resist the temptation and bent down to pet it. Its fur was so soft and fluffy, and it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I couldn't help but smile at this unexpected encounter.II. A Hilarious Mishap。

As I continued walking, I noticed a man riding a unicycle. He was trying to maintain his balance, but it seemed like a difficult task for him. Suddenly, he lost control and fell off the unicycle, landing on the groundwith a loud thud. It was such a comical sight that I burst out laughing. The man quickly got up, laughing at himself, and continued on his way. It was a moment of pure amusement.III. A Delicious Treat。

Feeling a bit hungry, I decided to stop by a bakery. The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the air, making my mouth water. I couldn't resist the temptation and bought a warm, golden croissant. As I took a bite, the buttery and flaky pastry melted in my mouth, leaving a delightful taste. It was a simple pleasure that brought me instant satisfaction.IV. A Heartwarming Gesture。

As far as I know, it is very important for one student to acquire basic skills. At first, mastering basic skills well can lay a solid foundation for learning advanced skills. Basic skills are a floor, not a ceiling. Students must learn them first so that they can move on to various advanced skills. What’s more, learning basic skills helps to improve confidence and enhance self-esteem. Individuals with basic skills are likely to be more confident and active.
To sum up, we should think highly of the importance of basic and fundamental skills that guarantee our wonderful and brilliant future. Furthermore, we should make full use of those elementary skills, consciously applying them in our works and life. Basic skill will never be outdated.

I saw this hilarious comic the other day, and ittotally cracked me up. It was about this guy who was trying to impress his crush by doing all these ridiculous stunts, like juggling flaming torches and tightrope walking. But every time he did something crazy, his crush just looked at him like he was a total weirdo. It was so funny becauseit's like, dude, just be yourself! You don't have to do all these crazy things to get someone to like you.And then there was another part where the guy wastrying to show off his muscles, so he started flexing and posing like a bodybuilder. But then his crush just rolled her eyes and walked away. I mean, come on, who does that? It's like he's trying way too hard to impress her, and it's just not working. But the best part was when the guy finally realizedthat he didn't have to do all these crazy things to get his crush's attention. He just started being himself andtalking to her like a normal person, and she actually started to like him back. It was such a cute and funny comic, and it had such a great message about being true to yourself.I think we can all learn something from that comic. It's so easy to get caught up in trying to impress other people, especially when it comes to dating. But at the end of the day, the most important thing is to just be yourself and let the right person appreciate you for who you are. And hey, if they don't like you for being yourself, then they're not worth your time anyway.。

Once upon a time, I stumbled upon a comic strip that made me chuckle. It showed a little boy with a big imagination, lost in his own world of make-believe. He had a cardboard sword in one hand and a pretend cape fluttering behind him.The comic captured his adventurous spirit perfectly. His eyes sparkled with excitement as he pretended to sword fight invisible foes. It reminded me of my childhood days, when I too would pretend to be a hero, saving the world from imaginary dangers. But then, the comic took a surprising turn. The little boy suddenly stopped and looked around, as if realizingthat he was alone in his imaginary world. His face fell, and he seemed a little sad. It made me think about how lonely it can be to always live in a fantasy world. In the next frame, the boy picked up a real book andstarted reading. His expression changed from sad to curious as he delved into the pages. It was a powerful message about the importance of balance – to let our imaginations run wild, but also to ground ourselves in reality. The comic ended with the boy smiling, lost in the world of the book but this time, in a way that seemed more fulfilling. It taught me that while it's fun to escape into our fantasies, it's also essential to engage with the real world and learn from it.Overall, that comic strip was more than just a funny picture. It was a profound reminder of the beauty of childhood。

Directions:For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay. You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then express your views on judging people with their appearance. You should write at least l20 words but no more than l80 words. On Judging People by Their AppearancesIn front of US unfolds a picture in which a selection is in process. Some people are sitting in the auditorium and listening to the speech given by the candidate. One of the voters is thinkin9:“His tie is too blue.I'm voting for the other guy.”This phenomenon can easily be found anywhere in our daily life. Nowadays, with more interviewers putting emphasis on the appearances of the applicants,a great majority of people believe that the appearance is more important. But I beg to differ.Because the clothes do not reflect what is inside the human. And what is in his mind and his heart can’t be known by US easily. Furthermore, judging someone by his or her external appearance can be deceptive.Judgments based on external appearances pre vent US from getting to know a person’s nature, and are superficial and limited. As an old saying goes,“never judge a book by its cover”.0ne’s appearance may reflect one’s interest, but it isn’t the symbol of one’s quality. We should never judgepeople merely by their appearances. On Protecting the ForestsDirections:For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay. You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then express your views on protecting the forests. You should write at least l20 words but no more than l80 words. On Protecting the ForestsAs is vividly shown in the picture,a man is chopping down the trees, with sleeves rolling up and a cigarette in his mouth.Suddenly a woodpecker, fluttering its wings, flies on the marl’s shoulder, pecking and thinking angrily:“There must be worms in this piece of wood…”Why does the woodpecker peck the man? Because there are worms in his head, and the worms are called“greed”or“selfishness”.Human beings have been cutting down the trees in the forests because they need wood and more farmland. The areas of forests are getting smaller and smaller. If the forests disappear, dust storms will occur frequently.Human beings will be punished for their forest-destroying activities sooner or later. We must face the situation and take actions to solve our environmental problems. For instance, new laws must be passed to place strict control over deforestation and the public must realize the importance of protecting the forests.。

Sample 1Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay based on the picture below. You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then comment on the kid's understanding of going to school. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.“Why am I going to school if my phone already knows everything?”The Meaning of Going to SchoolAs is depicted/presented in the picture, a boy, with a mobile phone in his hand, asks his mother why he bothers going to school if his phone already knows everything. Undoubtedly, what the picture reveals is the misunderstanding of going to school.Much as ubiquitous smart phones reshape human life and transform the whole society, by no means can they replace school education. For one thing, going to school is not identical with information input which is achievable through mobile phones; going to school enables students to acquire skills such as communicating and learning. For another, under the guide of teachers, students can develop critical thinking ability and better adjust to different environments. Lastly, with competition becoming increasingly intense, school education can endow students with degrees which are entry tickets to a decent job. Therefore, schooling plays an indispensable role in children’s growth. Parents as well as students themselves should hold a correct view on school education. Only by attending school can kids grow more healthily both physically and mentally.Sample 2Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay based on the picture below. You should start your essay with a brief account of the impact of the Internet on learning and then explain why education doesn’t simply mean learning to obtain information. You should write at least 120 words and no more than 180 words.“Once I learn how to use Google, isn’t that all the education I really need?”Education Is More Than Obtaining InformationAccess to the Internet has completely altered the face of learning. Knowledge and information that used to be scarce and sacred are now easily available. No wonder the student in the cartoon doubts if he just needs Google for his education. However, education is so much more than learning to obtain information. As a famous quote goes, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” Indeed, obtaining information is just the first step. It is what happens next in the learner’s mind that really matters. First, the learner should judge the information before digesting it and integrating it into his or her own knowledge system. Then the learner can try to make use of the knowledge. Only by then can we say that the process of learning is completed. In short, learning involves both input and output. Obtaining information is just the form on the surface. What we really should try to get from education is the ability to judge, to think, and to use the information that has been taught us.。

Once upon a time, there was a young student named Alice. She was always excited about learning new things, especially English. Alice found that comics were a fun wayto practice her reading skills, and she enjoyed the stories they told. One day, Alice discovered a comic about a braveexplorer named Mark. In the comic, Mark traveled to exotic places and encountered challenges that tested his wit and courage. Alice was fascinated by how the comic used simple language and vivid illustrations to convey the excitementof the adventure. As she read, Alice noticed that the comic used avariety of sentence structures and vocabulary. Sometimes,it used short, punchy sentences to convey action, while at other times, it employed longer sentences to describe the scenery or characters' feelings. This made the story more engaging and helped Alice improve her understanding ofEnglish grammar. What Alice also liked about the comic was its humor and wit. The characters often said funny things that made her laugh out loud. This not only made learning enjoyable but also helped her to remember the new words and phrases she learned.Over time, Alice's English improved significantly. She found that comics were not only a fun way to learn but also a great source of inspiration.。
