Dear [Name],。
I hope this letter finds you well. I want to express my sincere appreciation for your interest in potentially setting me up on a blind date. It's truly flattering to know that you think highly enough of me to consider such a gesture. However, after careful consideration, I must respectfully decline your offer. Please understand thatthis decision is not a reflection of your judgment or the qualities of the person you have in mind. Rather, it stems from my personal preferences and current priorities.First and foremost, I believe that compatibility is a crucial aspect of any relationship. While I acknowledgethat blind dates can sometimes lead to unexpectedconnections, I prefer to develop romantic interests organically, based on genuine interactions and shared experiences.Additionally, I am currently focusing my time and energy on personal and professional growth. As much as I value the prospect of meeting new people, I believe that now is not the ideal time for me to explore romantic relationships outside of my existing social circles. Please know that I deeply appreciate your thoughtfulness and consideration. Your willingness to play matchmaker speaks volumes about the kindness of your heart, and I am genuinely touched by your gesture. I hope that you understand and respect my decision.Moving forward, I am open to the possibility of meeting someone special through mutual connections or natural circumstances. In the meantime, I look forward to continuing our friendship and sharing many more meaningful conversations in the future.Thank you once again for thinking of me and extending this invitation. Your friendship means a great deal to me, and I am grateful to have you in my life.Warm regards,。

As a modern woman navigating the world of dating, it can be challenging to strike the perfect balance between being confident and approachable. One common scenario where this delicate balance is put to the test is during blind dates or matchmaking events. In these situations, a simple yet effective self-introduction can make all the difference in leaving a lasting impression on potential suitors. When it comes to introducing yourself during a blind date, less is often more. Keep your introduction concise and to the point, highlighting your key interests, values, and qualities that make you unique. Avoid overwhelming your date with too much information or coming across as boastful. Remember, the goal is to pique their curiosity and leave them wanting to learn more about you.A high-quality self-introduction should be like a well-crafted elevator pitch – short, sweet, and memorable. Start by sharing your name and a brief description of what you do for a living. Then, move on to mention a few of your hobbies or passions that showcase your personality and interests. Finally, don't forget to mention what you are looking for in a potential partner, as this can help steer the conversation towards common goals and values.By keeping your self-introduction simple yet engaging, you can set the tone for a successful blind date and increase your chances of making a genuine connection with someone special. Remember, confidence is key, so be yourself and let your unique qualities shine through. Good luck!

Ross: Female body inspector? What size is that?Cut to outside. Phoebe and Joey are walking down the street to Central Perk. Phoebe: Now, wait a minute. So, they're gonna name their first child Joey? Joey: Uh-huh.Phoebe: How - how do I get them to name the next one after me?Joey: It's easy, you just walk in on them having sex.Phoebe: Oh, so they owe me like, three Phoebes.(Phoebe sees Rachel and Ross through the window.)Phoebe: Oh my god! Look, it's Ross and Rachel. Oh, the plan is working. (Joey does the "plan-laugh.")Phoebe: Don't, don't do the plan-laugh.Cut to inside Central Perk.Ross: The first date we've had in months, and they were both such disasters. Rachel: Oh. Huh. Y ou know, it is weird that Phoebe would set me up on a date that was awful on the same night that Joey set you up on a date that didn't even show.Ross: Wait a minute; you don't think it was intentional? I mean, that's just stupid. Cut to outside Central Perk.Joey: We're geniuses! Y eah, look at them, look at them, they're really bonding. Phoebe: Oh, yeah, they're falling in love all over again.(Rachel and Ross turn around and look at Phoebe and Joey with puzzled expressions on their faces.)Phoebe: Oh, they see us! Oh, they, they look mad. Oh, they figured it out. They're coming this way. Run!Joey: Where?Phoebe: Mexico!(They run down the street with Ross and Rachel following right behind them.) End creditsScene:Delmonico's restaurant. Ross and Joey are sitting at a table for four. The waiter is pouring water in their glasses.Joey: Can you believe they're still not here?Ross:I know. A double blind date, and we both get stood up. What are the chances?Joey: I know, I'm so bummed. Can we have our free crab cakes now?Waiter: What?Joey: We've been stood up. (sniffles) And we want our free crab cakes. Waiter:Guys, give it a rest. Nobody's betting on you tonight. Although we do have a pool going to see how long it takes that guy to cry.(He points at Steve who's sitting at another table. He's staring at his hands.) Steve: I have such fat hands! (He starts crying.)END

blind-date show
Currently, the blind-date shows are becoming increasingly popular. Whenever we turn on TV, those incredible senses of blind-date shows would pop up on the screen. A vast number of individuals, from teenagers to the elderly, are so crazy about these shows that they never miss a single chance to watch them.Three reasons would contribute to the popularity of these blind-date shows. To begin with, there are over 180 million folks who remain single long after they have reached the official age for marriage. Moreover, Some folks would like to amuse themselves by watching other people dating. Last but not least, a growing number of television producers add a couple of attractive elements to cater for the different tastes of the audience. For my part, r estrictions should be imposed to these blind-date shows. Many of these shows advocate money-warship and materialism; quite a few of the guests’ identities are artificial. If these proble ms are not solved, the misleading effects can be disastrous. You can find many blind-date shows on many channels on weekend evenings these days. People not only watch such program but also discuss the beautiful girls, handsome men and the activities in the shows. Several reasons result in the popularity of these shows. First of all, love is no longer extremely private and people, especially young people, are not as shy as their parents when it comes to love. Many prefer showing their love in front of people, even millions of people. Secondly, nowadays young working people’s social network is so narrow that they have to extend their targets on these shows. Not only do they have more choices on the show, but also they advertise themselves to the audience. In my opinion, we can only treat such programs as mere amusement because I do not quite believe that true love can be created through such a short time. This show may be a place where people get to know each other and listen to advice from guests and hosts, but it is never where two people truly become lovers at the end of the show. Recently, blind-date show has dominated over the TV screen. Young men and women at their marriageable age swarm into various blind-date shows and try to find an ideal partner. There are probably three reasons to explain this fad. In the first place, it is not controversial that there indeed plenty of unmarried adult men and women teem with this globe. To find a perfect partner, each and everyone of them takes pains to seek opportunities and occasions. Blind-date show, naturally, for unmarried people, becomes a popular and practical approach to meet their counterparts. In the second place, this fresh program brings about considerable economic benefit to both TV stations and sponsors. Last but not least, TV viewers’ enthusiasm kindles the prevalence of this sort of show. It is true that blind-date show will not be a hit if TV viewers dislike it.As far as I am concerned, this program provides a platform for single people to locate their destiny, for economic entities to earn money, for TV viewers to relax themselves. Therefore, frankly speaking, I am a protagonist of blind-date show. Nowadays, the blind-date show is definitely popular. This kind of show has hooked many pretty, outstanding young people to take part in finding his princess or her Mr.right. What’s more, the blind-date show has been the enthusiastic topic in our free time. Why is this kind of show so attractive? On one hand, young people are so busy in working that have no time to meet new friends and develop further relationships. On top of that , maybe someone is quiet strict with the lover,so he or she will have more chances to meet different kind s ofpeople then choose the best one .On the other hand , some youth has the a i m of becoming a pop star to join the show instead of dating sincerely . In my opinion, the blind -date show provides a new kind of enthusiasm for audience to choose. I t can make our life more colorful and to some degree,it truly gives some singles a new way to date. However, i hope that the show can be pure and innocent. Fewer lies, more truths.。

Lying is more than an occasional experience for many people on blind dates in South Korea。

Introduction:Blind date is a hot phenomenon in China. We can watch TV programs of prime time on blind date from different channels. One TV program named “If you are the One” is popular among us. A man should select one of 24 women on stage as his favorite. If succeeded after several procedures, both two parties can get rewards.Parents are busy organizing blind dates as more as possible, lest their children will still be the singles. What most parents talk with their peers are generally some questions like “Have your child got married?””Why is your child still unmarried?”“We are going to organize a blind date for our child before he is 30”. We are curious about that, is the difficulty in finding a boy friend or a girl friend to such an extent that we have to choose blind date as the last resort? This poster aims at comparing some differences on blind date between the West and China, as well as trying to analyse this phenomenon and interpret the reasons.FindingsAccording to the online searching and interview, the results are as following:Same: 1. The preparations before blind date. First is with no doubt significant when meeting a person who, you never met before. On this respect, China and the West are the same. For men, a shower and a shave are necessary, while for women, to make up is essential.2. The result. Unfortunately, most blind dates are unsuccessful, though some may have a good start, only a few of people get married at last.Differences: 1. The way how blind date is organized. This is the most obvious distinction between China and the West. In China, parents do everything for their children, including their marriage, though this concept is changing, still inveterate to some extent. Parents arrange blind date elaborately, choosing a suitable place, booking the dishes, and then hiding somewhere waiting. While in the west, parents have no involvement in blind date. While a man is dating, his parents may be thousands miles away on holiday!2. The place. Chinese tend to prefer a quiet place of few people, like a small private room in a restaurant or cafeteria, in order to create a romantic atmosphere. Bars are undesirable. But in the west, it also can take place in social occasions, such as a banquet, or in a barbeque. Some westerners even have online dating.3. The cost. In China, blind date can sometimes cost a large sum of money, especially in rich families, or else parents will lose their face before their friends. In the west, blind date does not cost much money.4. What do people care about the most. In China, people care about family background and social status. Women often regard houses and cars as essential for men. In the west, people tend to pay attention to common interests like hobbies, characteristics, and jobs.5. Purpose. Chinese people see blind date as a way to find a partner to marry with. While the westerners are not so serious about blind date as Chinese people. They just want to make friends, to have someone to talk with. What we have learned:1.The reasons are complicated. Firstly, there’re more and more singles. Due to the natural birthrates, on average, boys are slightly more than girls, about 3%-7%. In some provinces of China, birth rates for boys can be 15%-20%more than girls, Due to some traditional concepts, parents will have their girl baby aborted before they are born, via some techniques which can tell the gender of the babies. Secondly, women have more rights than before, they have even better education than men, most of them become more selective in their marriage. They do not want to get married until they find a ideal man. As a result, single men cannot find partners, while women are not willing to get married. Besides, there’re many other factors like the gloomy job markets and heavy economic pressures, which contribute to the delayed age of marriage.Either an unstable job or a little savings can lead to be single2.Individualism is the radical reason for such differences between China and the West. Westernchildren were taught to be financial and emotional independence from parents when they were young. Their parents do not interfere their personal life, they hold that their children have the freedom to choose whom they love. In contrast, parents in Chinese families have strong power over their children. Few Chinese can be both financial and emotional independent before 24, the age of graduation from university. Parents are willing to arrange everything for their children, as to marriage, two people cannot be together unless they get the consent of their parents.3.Parents’ concepts should be changed. Young people are always suffering pressures from manyaspects, including their parents. If not married before 28, especially for women, parents will be more than apprehended about the future of her. Some even suspect that if their children have some mental diseases which result in her unwilling to marry. In China, if the children of the parents’ friends’ are married, they will tend to scold their children by comparing the two children, urging their own children to get married soon, at least have a boy or a girl friend. In fact, it is because they care too much about their children that they are easily to ignore their children’s heartfelt feelings. They have their own criteria, and impose them on their children.Maybe the parents want to have their grandchild to raise up as soon as possible, but they should take more consideration of the situations their children are confronting.。
