From now on, I'll definitely clean my plate at every meal!In our writing assignment for that unit, we had to describe our favorite meal, using all the yummy adjectives we learned. I wrote about my grandma's famous spaghetti and meatballs. She makes it for every special occasion and it's absolutely scrumptious! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I can still smell the garlicky tomato sauce simmering on the stove...Well, those were the highlights from my English classes so far this year. Looking ahead, I can't wait to see what other cool stuff we'll learn. Maybe we'll study planets and space exploration next? Or perhaps we'll dive into the world of sports and games. I'll just have to be patient and find out!In the meantime, I've got math, science, history, and more to keep me busy. Recess and lunch are always great breaks to recharge. At lunch, Sophia and I like to people watch and make up wild stories about the other kids. I know it's silly, but it cracks us up!After school, I either go home or head to soccer practice a couple days a week. I absolutely love soccer and am determined to make the select team next year. I practice my dribbling relentlessly, driving my brother Alex crazy when I do it in the house. I really like mystery novels where I can try to solve the case before the end. Lately I've been working my way through the Cam Jansen series – such a cool kid detective!Before I know it, it's time for bed again. I toss and turn for a while, my mind racing with thoughts of everything I learned that day. I can't wait to be a grown-up so I can stay up as late as I want! For now though, I need my rest to recharge for another busy day tomorrow.Phew, writing about my typical sixth grade days has made me feel even more exhausted! But in a good way. I have so much fun at school with my friends and all of our fascinating lessons and activities. This age is a special time when you're not a little kid anymore, but not quite a teenager yet either. We're just sliding right into that prime time and life is great!Well, that's a little glimpse into my world. Writing this has made me appreciate it even more.
