(1)the minute意为“一……就……”，后接时间状语从句，相当于the moment或as soon as。
(2)come over意为“过来；顺便来访；拜访”，多指朋友、亲戚或熟人之间的非正式探望，后面可加介词to，用表示地点的名词作宾语。
典例2For one week，she did not do any housework and neither did I．一个星期以来，她没做任何家务，我也没做。
“neither＋be动词/助动词/情态动词＋主语”意为“……也不”，表示前面提及的否定情况也同样适合后者。
neither此处用作副词，也可用nor来替换，意为“也不”。
【拓展】neither还可用作代词，意为“两者都不”，其反义词为both，意为“两者都”。
e．g．Neither of them come/comes from Canada．他们两个都不是来自加拿大的。
典例3My mom came over as soon as I sat down in front of the TV．我一在电视机前坐下，我妈妈就过来了。
as soon as意为“一……就……”，引导时间状语从句，通常情况下主从句时态保持一致。
但若主句用一般将来时，从句要用一般现在时表将来，即遵循“主将从现”原则。
典例4Could you please pass me the salt? 请你把盐递给我好吗？pass此处用作及物动词，意为“给；递”，常用短语有pass sb．sth．和pass sth．to sb．，意为“递给某人某物；把某物递给某人”。
【拓展】pass用作动词时还可意为“走过；通过”。
e．g．She passed the store just now．她刚刚走过商店。
典例5Could I borrow that book? 我能借那本书吗？borrow用作及物动词，意为“借；借用”，表示主语借用别人的东西，常用短语为borrow sth．from sb．，意为“向某人借某物”。
典例6Could you lend me some money? 你能借我一些钱吗？lend用作及物动词，意为“借给；借出”，表示主语把东西借出去给别人，和borrow互为反义词，常用短语有lend sb．sth．＝lend sth．to sb．，意为“借给某人某物；把某物借给某人”。
语法解析情态动词could的用法情态动词could可用于礼貌地向对方提出请求或请求对方的许可，常用于疑问句，可代替can，在意思与时间上与can没有区别，但语气比can委婉有礼貌。
1．委婉地表示请求别人做某事。
2．委婉地表示请求别人允许自己做某事。
【拓展】could的其他用法：①could为情态动词can的过去式，用于表示能力。
e．g．He could swim at the age of five．他5岁就能游泳了。
①表示可能性，用来对将来、现在或过去进行推测。
