The Stone, My DirectionWhen it comes to stones, what do they mean to you? The foundation of houses, the difficulties in your lives...... For my perspective, the stone is my direction，leading me to move forward step by step.For a long vacation, I am accustomed to traveling, especially, climbing mountains from which I can refresh myself physically and mentally. The third, the fourth (I)managed to relieve myself all the time. It's until a teacher criticized me not to prepare well before the match. All of asudden, I couldn't help but burst into tears. At that time, I realized that I couldn't confront it any more.Several days later, faced with the suffering, I reflected myself deeply. I came to realize that I was eager to go in after numerous contests but attach less importance to the quality. Provided that I participated in several ones which I really enjoyed, I would be more ready for it. Thanks to the stones_my direction in my life, I can take my behaviours into consideration to become a better guy gradually.In a word, a stone is never just a stone and, in contrary, it is a diamond that we are supposed to cherish for a long time.Our life has a limit, but knowledge without limit.Knowledge advances by steps, and not by leaps. Because I knew, when I crossed the long river of my life, they would be my steeping-stones to keep balance, and when I climbed the mountain to my success, they would change into my stone-stairs to help me get to a higher place. I hate t o say this, but we do inherit most of the social capitals that get to decide what kind of a role we start with when we come to this world.However, the game still gets played for a reason. The board of 64 little squares is magically enough to create a stage for wonderful things to happen. In just the first four moves there are 318 million different ways to play. And in a game between two equal players there will be around 50 moves in total and just think about many moves we take in life time. I’ll say countless. And no one is able to predict what’s going to happen next, which, I think, is the true beauty of our world.And that just paints a silver lining, like a little solider, like you and me. Because with a little but sufficient ability to checkmate and then win the game by planning out my tactics and encountering the coincidences along the way. Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. It’s my great honor to be here and give you a short speech. Today my topic is “The Stones, G roping to Growth”.
Before I start my speech, I want to ask you all: have you ever heard the story “Little Horse Crossing the Riv er” The little horse doesn’t know the depth of the water and does not dare to cross the river. So he asks around, everybody gives him different answers according to their own experience. It makes him even more scared of the river than before. After a long struggle, he finally takes the courage to try it himself, and realizes that the river is neither as shallow as the cow said nor as deep as the little squirrel said.
I also experienced a confusing period like the little horse when …. I have always been keen to experience everything in life, and hence I believe I’m of versatile tastes. This kind of cleverness leads me to think that I can be good at many things. To me, all the things I want to try is like rivers to cross. With just a few steps into the water, I can enjoy all the fun freely, jumping and running in the water; moving forward, the water gets higher, it is still full of fun and excitement; yet when I’m approaching the middle of the river, I find myself surrounded by water, and I can’t see where I ca n go. I start to get scared and confused and don't know what to do.
Then one day, I saw the words “new media”. It’s j ust like a huge stone holding me up out of the water, so I can have a broader view around. “I can do it,” “I want to do it,” again, I have a determined mind of what I want to do and where I want to go, since I can see that writing would be my footing stone out of the water. these kinds of knowledge I have seen about knowing myself are coming in like water, which let me suddenly realize that my fish bait is writing. But when I realized that only with the core competitiveness of the individual can stand up, I know I don't have it at all. However, having a direction does not mean that my problem has been solved. Although I wrote a lot of article s, I didn’t dare to submit, for fear that others would refuse me because I didn’t write well enough. I started to doubt myself again. I don't believe in myself and I am not sure if I can do it well.Then again, I found myself lost in the vast water. At this time, the little horse story came into my mind. I told myself: “just do it, what could be the worst” So, I summed up the lessons of my failure, and
improved my methods step by step. And finally, my first passage was used recently. Actually, on the path of growth, we are all crossing the rivert there are a lot of rivers to cross. Whenever you come across the difficult one, don’t be afraid, don’t turn around, or try to drown yourself in it, just step into it and carefully feel for the stones that can hold you up.
