Afterwards the teacher decided to do a class project to see what kind of effect recognition5 would have on a community6. She gave each of the students three more ribbons and instructed them to go out and spread this acknowledgment ceremony7. Then they were to follow up on8 the results, see who honored whom and report back to the class in about a week. One of the boys in the class went to a junior executive9 in a nearby company and honored him for helping him with his career planning10. He gave him a blue ribbon and put it on his shirt. Then he gave him two extra ribbons, and said, “We’re doing a class project on recognition, and we’d like you to go out, find somebody to honor, give them a blue ribbon, then give them th e extra blue ribbon so they can acknowledge a third person to keep this acknowledgment ceremony going. Then please report back to me and tell me what happened.”Later that day the junior executive went in to see his boss, who had been known, by the way, as being kind of a grouchy11 fellow. He sat his boss down and he told him that he deeply admired him for being a creative genius12. The boss seemed very surprised. The junior executive asked him if he would accept the gift of the blue ribbon and would he give him permission to put it on him. His surprised boss said, “Well, sure.”The junior executive took the blue ribbon and placed it right on his boss’s jacket above his heart. As he gave him the last extra ribbon, he said, “Would you do me a favor? Wou ld you take this extra ribbon and pass it on by honoring somebody else? The young boy who first gave me the ribbons is doing a project in school and we want to keep this recognition ceremony going and find out how it affects people.”That night the boss came home to his 14-year-old son and sat him down. He said, “The most incredible13 thing happened to me today. I was in my office and one of the junior executives came in and told me he admired me and gave me a blue ribbon for being a creative genius. Imagine. He thinks I’m a creative genius. Then he put this blue ribbon that says ‘Who I Am Makes A Difference’ on my jacket above my heart. He gave me an extra ribbon and asked me to find somebody else to honor. As I was driving home tonight, I started thinking about whom I would honor with this ribbon and I thought about you. I want to honor you.“My Days are really busy and when I come home I don’t pay a lot of attention to you. Sometimes I scream at you for not getting good enough grades in school and for your bedroom being a mess14, but somehow tonight, I just wanted to sit here and well, just let you know that you do make a difference to me. Besides your mother, you are the most important person in my life. You’re a great kid and I love you!”The sta rtled15 boy started to sob and sob, and he couldn’t stop crying. His whole body shook. He looked up at his father and said through his tears, “I was planning on committing suicide16 tomorrow, Dad, because I didn’t think you loved me. Now I don’t need to.”纽约的一位中学老师决定夸奖她毕业班的全体学生,说他们不同程度地改变了他人的生活。

世界因为你不一样作文

世界因为你不一样作文英文回答:In the grand tapestry of life, each thread, no matter how vibrant or subtle, plays an integral role in theintricate design. The world, in its infinite diversity, isa symphony of colors, melodies, and experiences, and eachof us contributes a unique note to this harmonious composition. The very essence of our humanity lies in our differences. Our perspectives, like kaleidoscopic fragments, refract the world in distinct and captivating ways. Our cultures, traditions, and beliefs weave a vibrant tapestry, enriching the collective human experience.Embracing our differences is not merely an act of tolerance; it is a celebration of the richness and depththat diversity brings to our world. When we recognize and value the perspectives of others, we expand our ownhorizons, fostering a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.In a time where walls of division seek to separate us, it is imperative that we break down these barriers and bridge the chasms that divide. Through empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to connect, we can create a world where our differences are not obstacles, but rather stepping stones towards unity. The world, my friends, is a stage upon which we play our unique roles. Let us embrace our differences with open arms, for in the grand scheme of things, it is these very differences that make our shared human journey so extraordinary.

Life is different because of you. You have the power to change the world around you, to impact the lives of those you encounter. Your actions, choices, and words have the ability to create ripples of change that can touch thelives of others in ways you may not even realize. For example, a simple act of kindness, such as holding the door open for someone, can brighten their day and make them feel seen and appreciated. It may seem like a small gesture, but it can have a big impact on someone's mood and overall outlook. And who knows, maybe that person will then go on to do something kind for someone else, creating a chain reaction of positivity.Another way you can make a difference is through your words. The things you say to others can have a lasting impact, whether it's a compliment that boosts someone'sself-esteem or a piece of advice that helps them overcome a challenge. Your words have the power to inspire, motivate, and uplift others.Furthermore, your choices and actions can also make a difference in the world. For instance, choosing to recycle and reduce your carbon footprint can help protect the environment for future generations. Taking the time to volunteer and give back to your community can make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.In addition to the impact you can have on others, your own life is also enriched and transformed by the choices you make. By pursuing your passions and following your dreams, you can create a life that is fulfilling and meaningful to you. Your unique talents and abilities can be used to make a positive impact in your own life and the lives of others.

The size of the world depends on one's perspective. For some, the world may seem vast and never-ending, filled with endless possibilities and opportunities. They may see the world as a place where dreams can come true and where anything is possible. On the other hand, there are those who may see the world as small and limited, confined by their own circumstances and experiences. They may feel trapped and believe that there is no way out.For me, the world is both big and small at the same time. It is big in the sense that there are so many places to explore, cultures to discover, and people to meet. It is a vast playground of diversity and uniqueness. Every corner of the world holds its own wonders and surprises, waiting to be uncovered. From the bustling streets of New York City to the serene landscapes of the Swiss Alps, eachdestination offers a different experience and perspective. However, the world is also small in the sense that we are all interconnected. With the advancement of technology and globalization, the world has become a global village. We can communicate with people from all over the world with just a click of a button. We can travel to the other side of the globe within a day. The boundaries that once separated us have become blurred. We are all part of a larger community, sharing the same planet and facingsimilar challenges. In my own life, I have experienced both the vastness and the smallness of the world. Growing up in a small town, I used to believe that the world was limited to what I could see and experience within my community. However, as I grew older and started to explore different places, I realized how much bigger the world truly is. I have traveled to different countries, met people from various backgrounds, and learned about different cultures. Each experience has expanded my horizons and made me realizethat the world is much larger than I had initially thought. One example that comes to mind is my trip to Japan. Before visiting Japan, I had only heard about it through books and movies. I had a preconceived notion of what the country would be like, but when I actually stepped foot in Japan, I was amazed by its beauty and uniqueness. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the tranquil temples of Kyoto, Japan offered a completely different experience from what I had imagined. It made me realize that there is so much more to the world than what we see or hear about.

The world is a vast and complex place, and it is constantly changing. These changes are driven by a myriadof factors, both natural and man-made. The idea that one person can single-handedly change the world is a romantic one, but it is not supported by the evidence.Throughout history, there have been many individualswho have made significant contributions to human progress. These individuals have invented new technologies, discovered new scientific principles, and developed new forms of art and culture. However, even the mostinfluential of these individuals has only had a limited impact on the world. For example, Albert Einstein is widely regarded as oneof the greatest scientists of all time. His theories of relativity revolutionized our understanding of the universe. However, it is important to remember that Einstein did not create the universe. He simply discovered its laws. The universe would exist with or without Einstein.Similarly, Martin Luther King, Jr. is widely regarded as one of the greatest civil rights leaders of all time. His leadership helped to end segregation in the United States. However, it is important to remember that King did not create the civil rights movement. He simply helped to lead it. The civil rights movement would have existed with or without King. The point is that no one person can single-handedly change the world. The world is too big and too complex for that. However, this does not mean that individuals cannot make a difference. Even small actions can have a ripple effect that can eventually lead to significant change.

This past Sunday my curiosity got the best of me, so I stopped jogging and walked over to her.
As I got closer, I realized that the metal cage was in fact a small trap.
There were three turtles, unharmed, slowly walking around the base of the trap.
[ls]She had a fourth turtle in her lap that she was carefully scrubbing with a spongy brush.[/ls]
“Hello,” I said. “If you don’t mind my nosiness, I’d
love to know what you’re doing with these turtles.”
“你好啊,”我说。
“如果你不介意我多管闲事的话,我很想知道你
在对这些乌龟做什么呢。
”
She smiled. “I’m cleaning off their shells ,” she replied.“我在清洗他们的壳,”她笑着回答说。
“Anything on a turtle’s shell, like algae or scum, reduces the turtle’s ability to absorb heat and impedes its ability
to swim. It can also corrode and weaken the shell over time.”
She went on:“I spend a couple of hours each Sunday morning, relaxing by this lake and helping these little guys out. It’s my own strange way of making a difference.
”
“But don’t most freshwater turtles live their whole liv es with algae and scum hanging from their shells?” I asked.
“但是,难道不是所有的淡水乌龟都是伴随着它们壳上的海藻和泡沫、浮渣度过一生的吗?”我问道。
“Yep, sadly, they do,” she replied.
“遗憾的是,它们的确这样。
”她回答道。
“Well then, don’t you think your time could be better spent? And 99% of these turtles don’t have kind people like
you to help them clean off their shells. So, no offense… but how exactly are your localized efforts here truly making a difference?”
“那么,你不觉得你在浪费时间吗?99%的乌龟都没有遇到像你这么
好的人去帮他们清洗龟壳。
所以,无意冒犯…但是你在这儿,通过你
一个人的努力到底能带来多大改变呢?”
The woman giggled aloud.
She then looked down at the turtle in her lap, scrubbed off the last piece of algae from its shell, and said, “Sweetie,
if this little guy could talk, he’d tell you I just made all the difference in the world.
”。
