My name is LiTianya. I am 19 years old, studying in Shihezi University. I come from a very happy middle-class family. My father works in a bank and my mother works in a dessert shop. I am the only child in the family,however, I am not the so-called spoiled child. My parents have trained me to be independent since I was a child.When I was thirteen years old, I came to my grandmother's house because of my parents' busy work.I and my grandmother lived together for more than a year's time. For the first time I realized that nowhere is better than home. My grandmother’s house is much larger than that of ours and furnished with a lot of delicious food. However, I still miss my parents.One thing I learned in those days (of leaving away from) home alone is that all parents love their children so much that they even sacrifice their own time to take care of their dear children. I hope I will be able to treat my parents well when they grow old. In those days, I also have a harvest. I met my English teacher, Miss Yang.I owe my knowledge to my teacher Miss Yang who made me study hard, especially in English. During the summer vacation, she gave me free tutoring in her house. I learned to read English newspapers and magazines, and this opened my eyes to a lot of interesting things. I remember my teacher once said that “there is no shortcut in learning anything.”Then I left there，but I try to learn to write simple letters to my teacher. We had much fun talking to each other on letters. I showed her my happy life and was told about her homelands. I believe that this is a good way to promote friendship on a people-to-people basis.Actually, I am a girl who loves literature.My fondness for literature has been developed since my childhood. It is lonely to be the only child. I had no one to play with when I was a kid. My mother knew about this so she brought me with her all the time. Hence, bookstores became my childhood playground and books have been my playmates. Mother would show me those fancy books with cute illustrations on them.My interest in books brought me to the world of literature. I have been enchanted by this creative world！So I have read all kinds of books. I want to explore the world of literature and the world of great writers, opening my eyes and cultivating my mind through this great world of literature. I want to be one of the literature students who has the privilege of studying great writers’ works and exploring their inner worlds, their outlook of lives, their roles as learned scholars and their influences on the world. I hope I can also make some contribution to the awareness of culture and literature in our society since its importance has been neglected.Besides literature, I also have a wide range of hobbies. I love drawing, writing, music and movies. I have my active side as well. I enjoy swimming, hiking, traveling and getting close to Nature a lot. I believe we must achieve a sense of balance in our lives. As to my personality, I am creative, optimistic, determined, willing to help others and down to earth. Throughout my university, I not only get good grades but also am very active on other field and involved in school club activities. I learn taekwondo and enjoy the sway sweat. I have joined the Chinese club and learned a lot about China ancient clothes knowledge. I really enjoy participating in school activities; I not only make many friends and have lots of fun but also gain many different valuable experiences.My father certainly has great influence on me, because my father is open-minded and a person of sense of humor,and I always look up to him. His passionand dedication to his job and family are the best things he gives us. He never forces us to do things we do not like. He gives us freedom of choice. That is why I can join so many school activities and have the chance to develop my hobbies. I must say that I am lucky to have such a happy family.In a word, I am only nineteen years old, and I am very young.So I am determined to see the world in every aspect that may be possible for me. I will carry on and go on to see mountains, swim in the sea and count the stars. I know I must continue to live my life the way I know how to. I am sure that I will become something! I will only look toward tomorrow and greet each day with a smile wherever I may be. I believe it is possible for ordinary people to achieve extraordinary things. For me, the difference between an "ordinary" and an "extraordinary" person is not the title that person might have, but what they do to make the world a better place for us all.
