There was a kind and fair king who had just one problem: his brothers. These two men were very greedy . At parties, they would push to the front of the queue . Then they would eat so much food that they could not move.
The king decided to teach his brothers a lesson. He took the brothers to a small dark room in the bottom of the castle.
Inside the room was a table with many kinds of delicious food. There were also two spoons. The spoons’ handles were one meter long.
The king told his brothers, “You must eat the food using the spoons I give you. You must only hold the spoon by the end of its handle.” The two greedy brothers ran forward to grab the spoons, pushing each other out of the way.
But the two brothers could not eat any of the delicious food. After three days of trying, the brothers finally had the idea of helping each other. They took turns carefully feeding each other and could eat all the food.
The next day, the king found two very different men. They had learned how to think of other people and how to work as a team.
