五年级下册英语书陕旅版翻译56页A PIONEER FOR ALL PEOPLEAlthough he is one of Chinas most famous scientists, Yuan Longping considers himself a farmer, for he works the land to do his research. Indeed, his sunburnt face and arms and his slim, strong body are just like those of millions of Chinese farmers, for whom he has struggled for the past five decades. Dr Yuan Longping grows what is called super hybrid rice. In 1974, he became the first agricultural pioneer in the world to grow rice that has a high output. This special strain of rice makes it possible to produce one-third more of the crop in the same fields. Now more than 60% of the rice produced in China each year is from this hybrid strain.Born into a poor farmers family in 1930, Dr Yuan graduated from Southwest Agricultural College in 1953. Since then, finding ways to grow more rice has been his life goal. As a young man, he saw the great need for increasing the rice output. At that time, hunger was a disturbing problem in many parts of the countryside. Dr Yuan searched for a way to increase rice harvests without expanding thearea of the fields. In 1950, Chinese farmers could produce only fifty million tons of rice. In a recent harvest, however, nearly two hundred million tons of rice was produced. These increased harvests mean that 22% of the worlds people are fed from just 7% of the farmland in China. Dr Yuan is now circulating his knowledge in India, Vietnam and many other less developed countries to increase their rice harvests. Thanks to his research, the UN has more tools in the battle to rid the world of hunger. Using his hybrid rice, farmers are producing harvests twice as large as before.Dr Yuan is quite satisfied with his life. However, he doesnt care about being famous. He feels it gives him less freedom to do his research. He would much rather keep time for his hobbles. He enjoys listening to violin music, playing mah-jong, swimming and reading. Spending money on himself or leading a comfortable life also means very little to him. Indeed, he believes that a person with too much money has more rather than fewer troubles. He therefore gives millions of yuan to equip others for their research in agriculture.Just dreaming for things, however, costs nothing. Long ago Dr yuan had a dream about rice plants as tall as sorghum. Each ear ofrice was as big as an ear of corn and each grain of rice was as huge as a peanut. Dr Yuan awoke from his dream with the hope of producing a kind of rice that could feed more people. Now, many years later, Dr Yuan has another dream: to export his rice so that it can be grown around the globe. One dream is not always enough, especially for a person who loves and cares for his people.造福全人类的先驱者尽管是中国最著名的科学家之一,袁隆平仍然认为自己是个农民,因为他在田里耕作,进行科学研究。

五年级英语下册陕旅版英语作文英译汉全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Incredible Journey in Shaanxi ProvinceWow, where do I even begin? My recent trip to Shaanxi Province in China was simply amazing! It was a journey filled with excitement, wonder, and endless discoveries. Let me take you on this incredible adventure! Our first stop was the ancient city of Xi'an, the starting point of the famous Silk Road. As we stepped into the city, it felt like we had traveled back in time. The magnificent City Wall surrounded us, standing tall and proud, reminding us of the city's rich history. We climbed up the wall and walked along its ancient paths, gazing at the beautiful architecture and imagining the stories it could tell. One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Terracotta Warriors Museum. I had heard about these life-sized clay soldiers before, but nothing could have prepared me for the sheer scale and grandeur of this archaeological wonder. Thousands of warriors, each with its unique facial expressions and details, stood guard in perfect formation, just as they had done for over 2,000 years. It was like stepping into a frozen moment in time, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and reverence.Next, we ventured into the breathtaking Huashan Mountains. The scenic beauty of these peaks was simply stunning. We hiked along narrow trails, passing through lush forests and crossing over ancient stone bridges. The fresh mountain air filled our lungs, and the sound of rushing streams provided a soothing melody. At one point, we even had the chance to walk along the famous Plank Trail, a narrow wooden path clinging to the side of the mountain. It was both thrilling and terrifying, but the incredible views made it all worth it.Our journey continued as we explored the bustling city ofXi'an itself. We wandered through the lively Muslim Quarter, where the aroma of delicious street food filled the air. I tried all sorts of tasty snacks, from tangy lamb kebabs to sweet persimmon cakes. The vibrant atmosphere, with vendors calling out their wares and locals going about their daily lives, was truly mesmerizing. One evening, we attended a spectacular Tang Dynasty show, where talented dancers and musicians brought the ancient culture to life right before our eyes. The colorful costumes, graceful movements, and enchanting music transported us to a bygone era, and I found myself captivated by the beauty and elegance of it all.But our adventure didn't stop there. We also visited the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum, the final resting place of China's first emperor. As we stood before the massive burial mound, I couldn't help but wonder about the secrets and treasures that might lie buried beneath the earth.Throughout our journey, we had the opportunity to interact with the friendly locals and learn about their traditions and way of life. From trying our hand at calligraphy to participating in a traditional tea ceremony, every experience was enriching and unforgettable. As our time in Shaanxi Province came to an end, I found myself filled with a sense of gratitude and wonder. This trip had opened my eyes to a world of history, culture, and natural beauty that I had only read about in books. I returned home with a deeper appreciation for the richness of our world and a burning desire to continue exploring and learning.Shaanxi Province has truly left an indelible mark on my heart and mind. The memories I made there will forever be etched in my soul, serving as a constant reminder of the incredibleadventures that await us if we dare to step out and embrace the world around us.篇2My Memorable Summer VacationLast summer was the best summer ever! I had so much fun and did lots of exciting things. Let me tell you all about it.It started with a family trip to my grandparents' village. We took the train and it was a really long ride, but I didn't mind because I got to see so many beautiful landscapes out the window – mountains, rivers, farms, and small towns. When we arrived, my grandparents were waiting for us at the station with big smiles. I was so happy to see them!Their village is nestled in the countryside, surrounded by green fields and hills. The air felt so fresh and clean compared to the city. My grandparents have a big vegetable garden where they grow all kinds of delicious fruits and veggies. Every morning, I would help my grandma pick tomatoes, cucumbers, and green beans. She taught me how to tell when they were perfectly ripe.In the afternoons, I loved exploring the village with my cousin, who lives next door to my grandparents. We would runthrough the fields, chase butterflies, and play hide-and-seek in the corn maze. Sometimes, we went fishing in the little stream that runs behind the houses. I was so proud when I finally caught my first fish all by myself! The best part was definitely the food. My grandma is an amazing cook. She made mouth-watering dishes using ingredients straight from their garden, like stir-fried vegetables, dumplings, and noodle soups. And she always let me help with the cooking, which was a lot of fun. I learned so many new recipes. On some evenings, all the neighborhood kids would get together and we'd play traditional games in the village square. My favorite was jianzi, where you try to keep a weighted shuttlecock off the ground by kicking it. It's much harder than it looks! The adults would sit on benches chatting and watching us play. The atmosphere was so lively and joyful. Before we knew it, two wonderful weeks had flown by. I was sad to leave my grandparents and cousin, but I had so many amazing memories. That summer taught me to appreciate the simple pleasures in life – fresh air, delicious homemade food, playing outdoors, and spending quality time with family. I'm already counting down the days until my next visit! So that was my super fun and unforgettable summer vacation. I can't wait to go back to the village again. Who knows, maybe I'll catch an even bigger fish next time! I just hope summer break gets here soon because I miss my grandparents terribly. But I have lots of great photos and souvenirs to remind me of the best vacation ever!篇3Title: My Exciting School Life [我激动人心的学校生活]Hello everyone! I'm so excited to share with you about my life as a fifth-grader. [大家好!我很兴奋地与大家分享作为一名五年级学生的生活。
