但更多的还是有不同点，而且两种 语言在颜色的意义上也有区别。
如 黄色”（yellow ）在西方黄色表示懦弱，胆小，不敢面对现实。
而在中国，黄色是帝王的象征。
只有皇帝才配着黄色。
再如蓝 色” （blue ）在英语中通常表示不快活，心情不好。

1.与动物有关的成语或谚语英汉不尽相同 1）他壮得像头牛。

She is as timid as a hare （鼠一兔） 3）养虎遗患: Warm a sn ake in on e's bosom 虎—蛇） 4）瓮中之鳖: Like a rat in a hole.（鳖一鼠） 5）害群之马: Black shee p.马一羊） 6）对牛弹琴:because his father is ill. 他今天心情不好，因为他父亲病了。
而在中国，“蓝色” 仅仅表示颜色而已，似乎没有不快活的意思。
再如：2） He has a green thumb.他擅长园艺工作。
（不是他有一个绿色的大拇指”。
）其他颜色词语也发生了改变。
如：black tea 红茶（不是“黑茶”）brown sugar 红糖（不是“棕色”糖）green-eyed红眼病（不是绿眼病”） blue films黄色电影（不是“yellowfilms ” ）Purple with anger脸色铁青（不是脸色发紫”）black and blue青一块，紫一块（不是“黑一块，蓝一块” ）另外，在英语中，有些颜色词已经失去了原意。
如：black art 巫术（不是“黑色的艺术” ） black cattle 肉牛（不是“黑牛” ）black mail 勒索行为（不是“黑色邮件” ）black-letter day 不吉利的日子red hand 血手（不是“红手” ） white hair boy 宠儿（不是“白发童” ）white lie 善意的谎言（不是“白色的谎言” ） white day 吉利之日（不是“白色的日子” ）3.与数字有关的成语或谚语英汉也不尽相同以数词表达的成语、谚语在英汉两种语言中似乎也不少。
但数字往往不是对等的。
例如：Before his marriage, his room was ofte n at sixes and seve nS结婚前, 他的房间总是乱七八糟的。
（不是“乱六乱七” ）She is a beautiful girl in a thousand.她是一个百里挑一的美丽姑娘。
（不是千里挑一” ）Why do you always come at the eleventh hour and keep everyone waiting for you? 为什么总是姗姗来迟，让大家等你？（不是“第11 点钟” ）His father is a three-bottle man. 他父亲是一个大“酒桶”。
（不是“3瓶酒” ）其他的例子还有：半斤八两：six of one and half a dozen of the other十月怀胎：a woman in the sixth month 十有八九：ten to one可见，成语、谚语中的数字都有所改变。
4.有些成语或谚语英汉没有对应形式山中无老虎，猴子称霸王。

Never offer to teach fish to swim. 三伏天dog days以上我们分别介绍了英汉两种语言的一些成语、谚语的表达方法，从中我们不难看出两种语言的文化差异是相当明显的。
因此，我们在外语学习中切忌望文生义”，按照本民族的语言文化去生搬硬套”另一个民族的语言文化。
这样做是非常有害的。
文化的差异: 异化还是归化一直是翻译界直译派和意泽派争论的焦点。
即把翻译不仅仅看作不同语言的转换，而是把它看成不同文化之间的交流；把握不同文化之间的相互关系以及相互交流的发展趋势，看它们能对处理翻译的异化与归化提供怎样的启示。
（一）不同文化之间具有相似和相通性，这是翻译中可能并且应该采用归化方法的客观依据。
无论在古代还是在现当代，中华民族和其它民族的生活和思想观念竟有如此多的相似之处。
有时，一种语言中概括某种生活现象的成语和词组与另一种语言中类似的成语和词组在表达技巧和语言结构上都惊人地相似，简直给人以无独有偶，天作地合的感觉。
西方戏剧里长着翅膀的天使会使我们联想起中国舞风飘带的飞天；《三国演义》中足智多谋的诸葛亮也会令英国人发出“ He is as wise as Solomon”的赞叹。
例如，英语成语cross/pass the Rubicon越过卢比孔河）已成为一个国际性成语，常用来比喻下定决心干到底，它的起源和意思与中文成语“破釜沉舟”有惊人的类似；又如，英语成语To cast pearls before swi ne和中国成语“对牛弹琴”或“明珠暗投”在现代语言中部是用来比喻“说话不看对象，或对愚蠢的人讲深奥的道理”，其引申意义均是“费力不讨好”。
中西文化和语言中还有许多不谋而合的经典妙句，它们与上述属于套用的译法不同，两者在内容和结构上几乎完全一致，典型地反映了不同国家和民族和文化和语言之间的相通性，翻译时亦不妨信手拈来。
如；“ To be on the thin icd'如履薄冰，“like a bolt from the blue”晴天霹雳，“To strike while the iron is hot”趁热打铁还有一种归化的译法与上述情况略有不同，它在选取汉语中特定的词句对译其它语种中相应的事物时。
还力求使两者在发音上比较接近，如美国有一种叫Revlon的化妆品被巧妙译为“露华浓”，“露华浓” 一词取自唐代诗人李白描写杨贵妃花容月貌的名诗《清平调三章》之一：“云想衣裳花想容，春风拂榄露华浓。
若非群玉山头见，会向瑶台月下逢。
”这可称为归化而兼音译的译法，堪称两全其美。
中文里同样有许多成语和习语和英语的表达法有异曲同工之处，也可以通过归化的方法译成英语。
如中文“旁敲侧击”接近英语短语“ beating around the bush”中文短语“雨后春笋”可以借用英语短语“ like mushroom”因为英国不产笋，bamboo 一词也是外来语；有时候，如果译者没有领会汉语的原文，或执意要采用异化的方法，反而有可能损伤原意。
如在美国作家赛珍珠翻译的中国名著《水浒》施耐庵（All Men Are Brothers）中，就有不少过于忠于原文的例子，如“江湖上的人”这一短语在多处被翻译为“ men by river and lake ”，这显然会令外国读者不知所云，如果将之翻译为“ Robin Hood''贝U更能为他们所接受。
当然，在现代汉语中，“江湖上的人”又有了新的意义，更类似英语中的“浪迹天涯的人（PeregrineS ”（二）但是，各个国家和民族的文化之间一直并将继续存在巨大差异，也就为语言翻译中采用异化译法提供了基本依据。
异化的译法能把一种文化及语言中的信息以近乎保持其本来面目的方式贡献给另一种文化及语言，不仅为后者带来了全新的成分，而且，各个国家和民族文化之间的相互融合也因此得到大大推进。
异化的译法则有利于两种异质文化和语言的相互交流和渗透，促进它们之间的融合。
在中国翻译史上的第一个翻译高峰，即从魏晋南北朝到唐代的佛经两译中，翻译家们在采用归化译法的同时，也大量地采用了异化译法，于是，许多印度佛教文化的成分就涌人中华文化和汉语，成为后者的有机组成部分。
女口：“浮屠”（救人一命胜造七级浮屠），“菩萨”（菩萨心肠），“金刚”（丈二金刚摸不着头脑）等等, 这些词汇和说法现在已成了中华民族日常生活中的常用词汇。
从上个世纪末到现在的百余年里，中西文化交流更加频繁，通过语言翻译的渠道，大量西方文化的信息渗透到中国文化和汉语申，大大地丰富了中华文化的内容和汉语的表现力。
如人们现在所熟知的The Trojan Horse特洛伊木马”，tower of ivory “象牙塔”，crocodile tears “鳄鱼的眼泪”，Valentine Day “情人节”等等。
中国也有许多语言文化现象融人进了讲英语的国家，也给该国语言文化带来了生气，注入了新血液。
如；中国人常说的“丢脸”和“船小好掉头”分别被直译为“to lose face ”和“ A Small boat turns easily'.中文成语“倾国倾城”在英文版（Roma nee of the Three Kin gdoms 直译为Her beauty was such as tooverthrow cities and ruin states”.发挥语言在当代不同国家和民族文化之间相互交流与渗透中的重要作用。
英汉思维差异对翻译的影响思维方式、思维特征和思维风格是语言生成的哲学机制。
