SAT优秀作文参考范文Too Easy to RebelIn my mothers more angry and disillusioned moods, she often declares that my sisters and I are smarter than is good for us,by which she means we are too ambitious, too independent—minded, and somehow, subtly un—Chinese。
At such times, I do not argue, for I realize how difficult it must be for her and my fatherhaving to deal with children who reject their simple idea of life and threaten to drag them into a future they do not understand。
For my parents, plans for our futures were very simple。
We were to get good grades,go to good colleges, and become good scientists, mathematicians,or engineers。
It had to do with being Chinese。
But my sisters and I rejected that future, and the year I came home with Honors in English,History and Debate was a year of disillusion for my parents。
It was not that they werent proud of my accomplishments, but merely that they had certain ideas of what was safe and solid, what we did in life。

SAT优秀作文素材范文SAT优秀作文素材范文Prompt:All progress has resulted from people who took unpopular positions. Adlai Stevenson, speech at Princeton, 1954.Assignment:Do you agree with this statement? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your postion on this issue. Support your point of view with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations.SAT Essay SampleI believe that progress is achieved by people that take unpoplar positions. To be popular often means trying to please everyone. Progress, on the other hand, comes from making difficult decisions that often dont satisfy everyone. Whether its politicians, parents, or even myself, progress has often come from making unpopular decisions. Many politicians have to make unpopular decisions. Abraham Lincoln is revered today but during his lifetime the Civil War was very unpopular. There was rioting over the draft and the destruction of lives and property wasnt popular either. But without the unpopular decisions he made it is hard to imagine what the United States would be like today. My parents also make unpopular decisions. One such decision was when they sent me to summer camp when I was 14.I didnt want to go but it turned out to be a terrific experience. I learned a lot about wildlife and nature. At the time it was not a popular thing to do but I really benefitted from it.。

sat范文SAT Essay Sample:In today's world, individuals are constantly fighting for power and control. This hunger for power and control often results in conflicts and disputes that can lead to devastating consequences. However, power and control can be used in positive ways to empower individuals and bring about positive change. When power is used in a just and responsible manner, it has the ability to uplift communities, promote equality, and foster progress. One way in which power can uplift communities is through effective leadership. A strong and capable leader can inspire and motivate individuals to work together towards a common goal. They can encourage community members to take ownership of their actions and make positive contributions to society. For example, Mahatma Gandhi, the influential leader of the Indian independence movement, used his power to advocate for non-violence and civil disobedience. Through his leadership, he was able to unite millions of people and eventually achieve India's independence from British rule.Power can also be utilized to promote equality and social justice. In many societies, certain groups face discrimination and are denied basic rights and opportunities. However, those in positions of power have the ability to enact policies and create systems that level the playing field. For instance, Rosa Parks, a civil rights activist, used her power to resist segregation laws by refusing to give up her bus seat to a white passenger. This act of defiance sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott and eventually led to thedesegregation of public transportation.Furthermore, power can be a catalyst for progress and innovation. Individuals with power can influence public opinion and shape the direction of society. They can advocate for change and push for advancements in various fields. Take, for example, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. His innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit have revolutionized the automobile and space industries. Through his power and influence, he has propelled us towards a more sustainable and technologically advanced future. In conclusion, power and control can be used in positive ways to uplift communities, promote equality, and foster progress. Effective leadership, the promotion of social justice, and the ability to drive innovation are all examples of how power can be harnessed for the greater good. It is essential, however, that those in positions of power wield their influence responsibly and ethically. By doing so, they can create positive change and make a lasting impact on society.。

Do YOU THINK THAT EASE DOES NOT CHALLENGE US AND THAT WE NEED ADVERSITIES TO HELP US DISCOVER WHO WE ARE? What associates us to find our advantages and disadvantages is not success. Sometimes, success can only blind our insights and make us arrogant. Actually, it is hardship that helps us find our strengths and weaknesses. By experiencing some difficulties, we gradually become aware of our own ability—we need to ponder what we are good at, what not. And through this kind of speculation, we perform ego integrity.A good example of this can be seen in the economic field. This kind of phenomenon, I’d like to say, is quite prevalent. Too many times we see the reactions of the government, when confronted by the deadlock of the economy, to save the recessing economy. It is the result of the economy strategies, which in this circumstance bring about the economic hardship, that promotes economists to find the bug or the weakness of the strategies. Therefore economists can polish the economic tactics. Take the Great Depression that happened in the USA in 1939 as an example. After the black Friday when the price of all the stocks suddenly dropped and thousands of people needed to join the dole line attack the whole American, people became aware of the weakness of the president Hoo ver’s 自由放任振策, which would widen the disparity between the rich and the poor without the gove rnment’s regulations and bring about the feign prosperity of the economy. Through the great depression, people found the shortcomings of the at-that-time-current policy. What if people continued to indulge in the feign prosperity of the economy? The more destructive, more spread effects will confront the whole globe and thus people lived a more abject life.Another example is from the famous Steve jobs, a man even not graduating from the university. After several months jobs entered the Reed College, he simply found that attending the college, to him honestly, is of no use. So he decided to drop off the college. We can imagine the embarrassment and unrest of dropping school, especially off an outstanding school like Reed College. We may become incompetent because we are not adept in a certain area (in the university, it’s called “major”), and therefore our prospects will be dim. However, it was this period when Jobs dropped the Reed College that Jobs found that he was really interested in calligraphy. Therefore, mac has the mostbeautiful fonts now. Adversity made jobs find his where his interest lied and built a solid foundation for his future success. From the realm of evidence we can safely conclude that asperity help us discover who we are. Great depression helped Americans to find the weakness of the ziyou. Dropping out of the school helped jobs to find his interest.。

SAT Essay优秀范文欣赏IM GOING RUNNING TODAY. I am not concerned about my calorie consumption for the day, nor am I anxious to get in shape for the winter season. I just want to go running。
I used to dislike running. If you dont win this game, youre all running five miles tomorrow, the field hockey coach used to warn, during those last days of October when the average temperature seemed to be decreasing exponentially. And so, oasionally, my grief-stricken team would run numerous miserable laps around the fields. At the end of these excursions, our faces and limbs would be numb, and we would all have developed those notorious flu-like symptoms; but the running made us better in the long run, I suppose. Nevertheless, I counted down the days until the end of the field hockey season, vowing never to put on a pair of running shoes again. Then I surprised myself by signing up for outdoor track in the second half of sophomore year. I was foolish to have believed that I could ever escape this insidious and magic addiction。

求例子——SAT作文:Arepeoplemorelikelytobehappyifownhappiness?我的回答是是的第一段引出,点明中心观点——focusing on goals make people more upbeat and concentrating, besides, achieving goals after hard work can bring you true happiness, that is the happiness of encountering difficulties then embrace success.

10 1-2It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age.Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behavior to children? One important stage in a child’s growth is certainly the development of a conscience, which is linked to the ability to tell right from wrong. This skill comes with time and good parenting, and my firm conviction is that punishment does not have much of a role to play in this. Therefore I have to disagree almost entirely with the given statement. To some extent the question depends on the age of the child. To punish a very young child is both wrong and foolish, as an infant will not understand what is happening or why he or she is being punished.Once the age of reason is reached however, a child can be rewarded for good behavior and discouraged from bad. This kind but firm approach will achieve more than harsh punishments, which might entail many negative consequences unintended by the parents. To help a child learn the difference between right and wrong, teachers and parents should firstly provide good role modelling in their own behavior. After that, if sanctions are needed, the punishment should not be of a physical nature, as that merely sends the message that it is acceptable for largerpeople to hit smaller ones-an outcome which may well result in the child starting to bully others.Nor should the punishment be in any way cruel.Rather, teachers and parents can use a variety of methods to discipline their young charges, such as detention, withdrawal of privileges, and time-out.Making the punishment fit the crime is a useful notion.Which would see children being made to pick up rubbish they have dropped, clean up graffiti they have drawn, or apologise to someone they have hurt.In these ways responsibility is developed in the child, which leads to much better future behavior than does punishment.剑10 2-1The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. The two tables contain sales date for Fairtrade coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004, in five nations of Europe. The first shows low-level coffee sales increasing in all five countries, albeit to widely varying degrees. In two places sales increased by the same small amount: 1.8-2 million euros in Denmark, and 0.8-1 million in Sweden. The increment was slightly larger in Belgium, from 1-1.7 million euros.Meanwhile, in Switzerland sales doubled from 3-6 million euros. Finally, in the UK there was an enormous increase, from 1.5-20 million euros. In the second table, it is Switzerland which stands out as buying far more Fairtrade bananas than the other four countries.Swiss sales figures jumpedfrom 15-47 million euros across these five years, while in the UK and Belgium sales only grew from 1-5.5 and from 0.6-4 million euros respectively.Sweden and Denmark showed a different pattern, with fails in banana sales from 1.8-1 and 2-0.9 million euros.Comparing the two tables, it is clear that in 1999 Fairtrade coffee sales ranged from 0.8-3 million euros in these five countries, while banana sales also mostly cluster between 0.6 and 2 million euros, with Switzerland the outlier at a huge 15 million euros.By 2004, sales figures for both products had risen across the board, except for Sweden and Demark which recorded drops in banana sales.剑10 3-2Countries are becoming more and more similar because people are able to buy the same products anywhere in the world.Do you think this is a positive or negative development? It is said that countries are becoming similar to each other because of the global spread of the same products, which are now available for purchase almost anywhere.I strongly believe that this modern development is largely detrimental to culture and traditions worldwide.A country’s history, language and ethos are all inextricably bound up in its manufactured artefacts. If the relentless advance of international brands into every corner of the world continues, these bland packages might one day completely oust the traditional objects of a nation, which would be a loss of richness and diversity in the world, as well as the sad disappearance of the manifestations of a place’s character. What would a Japanese tea ceremony be without its specially crafted teapot, or a Fijian kava ritual without its bowl made from a certain type of tree bark?Let us not forget either that traditional products, whether these be medicines, cosmetics, toys, clothes, utensils or food, provide employment for local people. The spread of multinational products can often bring in its wake a loss of jobs, as people turn to buying the new brand, perhaps thinking it more glamorous than the one they are used to.This eventually puts old-school craftspeople out of work. Finally, tourism numbers may also be affected, as travellers become disillusioned with finding every place just the same as the one they visited previously. To see the same products in shops the world over is boring, and does not impel visitors to open their wallets in the same way that trinkets or souvenirs unique to the particular area do.Some may argue that all people are entitled to have access to the same products, but I say that local objects suit local conditions best, and that faceless uniformity worldwide is an unwelcome and dreary prospect.剑10 4-1The diagrams below show the life cycle of a species of large fish called the salmon.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.Salmon begin life as eggs on a pebbly riverbed, hidden among reeds in the slow-moving upper reaches of a river. After five to six months the eggs hatch into “fry”.For approximately the next four years, these baby salmon will live in the lower, faster-flowing waters of their river.During this time they measure between three and eight centimetres in length.By the time salmon reach twelve to fifteen centimetres, they are termed ‘smolt’, and at this time they migrate further downriver into the open sea. After five years at sea the salmon will have grown to adult size, which is between seventy and seventy-six centimetres. They then begin swimming back to their birthplace, where they will lay their eggs, and the cycle startsanew. In summary, the salmon passes through three distinct physical stages as it grows to maturity. Each of these stages takes place in a very different aquatic location. It is noteworthy that the first two stages of this fish’s life occur in a freshwater environment, while the third stage is lived in saltwater.。

Observations.
Every night as I lounge around the house,my parents constantly berate me for not
getting a head start on my homework. They always echo that common sentiment of a head
start shared by teachers and parents everywhere. However, though I may occasionally fall
prey to procrastination,my homework is always turned in on time, and it is my best quality work. For like James Watson,“lounging around”is a way for me to do my best;ultimately,
every personality has its own techniques to produce their work, and it is essential that people follow their own structures and strategies.
One of the best ways to illustrate this is through my study of piano.I had been playing
for four years when the tedious repetitive practicing of minuets and sonatas had broken my
urge to practice, even my urge to play.I quit, yet I found myself wandering back to my mahogany piano on late nights,my fingers itching to create music out of those black and
white keys.Consequently,I decided to return to piano;however, this time I decided to not let marathon practices quench my ability to learn and love piano. My new policy is to sit down
on the bench and practice until my hands hurt from strain or my head hurts from pure frustration.I’ve discovered you can’t learn a piece from the form of practicing my parents advocated:pounding away until you get it right.Practicing while your body or mind is exhausted does nothing to help your playing, and only increases your physical or mental stress. While I used to do four-hour sessions of practices,I now sit down and focus completely for an hour, and then take a break for a snack or some TV to rest my mind and body. These breaks are actually the most essential part to my growth as a pianist;otherwise, like many years ago,
I’d be sure to quickly grow tired of playing. Before I only learned five or so pieces a year, while this last fall I learned eleven.
