《英美文化与国家概况》课程教学大纲学分：3.0学时：52适用专业：商务英语、应用英语一、课程性质（定位）与任务课程性质：商务英语专业的必修专业技能基础课程，是一门素质拓展课。
通过本课程的学习，达到开阔学生视野，扩大学生知识面的目的。
课程目标：通过介绍英国和美国这两个最有代表性的英语国家的历史、地理、社会、经济、政治、教育及其文化传统，使学生对西方思想的形成有进一步的认识，扩展自身人文知识，为学生在英语学习中扫除缺乏背景知识的障碍，提高学生对文化差异的敏感性、宽容性和处理文化差异的灵活性，培养学生跨文化交际能力。

《英美概况》教学大纲
适用专业：英语各专业

一、课程的性质`目的和基本要求
本课程是大学英语专业的公共基础课。
其目的是：在学生已具有一定英语语言能力的基础上，辅以主要英语国家的背景知识，着重加强在历史，政治，文化及传统等方面的了解，为其他英语专业课程的学习（尤其是英汉互译）、毕业论文的撰写及今后的商务工作夯实基础。
本课程以课堂教学与课外教学并重。
课堂上提炼重点，引导学生从中找到自己感兴趣的知识点，并鼓励课后进行放大性探索和研究，养成找点，连线，成面的良好治学习惯和有效的方法。

图书馆查阅资料，收集资料，撰写阶段性论文，继而连成课程（学期）论文。

形成找点，成文的能力及学会做学问的基本套路，并相应扩大词汇量以利于扩大阅读面。

因本课基本以英语授课，帮定在第三或第四学期开设，方能在英语语言基础较好的基础上达到事半功倍之效。
