二. 部分否定
英语中all、every(及其派生词),both以及 always, quite, often, altogether, entirely, wholly都含有“全体”的意义, 如用一般否定 词not对它们进行否定, 所得的结果不是全部被 否定, 而是部分否定。这时, not可以放在被否 定的词的前面, 也可以放在谓语部分里。
He never refused to help. 他总是有求必应(这里refuse“拒绝”之意, 本身有 否定意义, 相当于否定词)。 We can’t not go. 我们不能不去。 But for your help, they should not have finished in time. 要不是你们的帮助，他们是不会按时完成任务的。

C. 在含目的状语的否定句中，有时not 并 不否定其后的动词，而是否定句中的目 的状语。
部分否定
用否定词not 来否定表示全部概念的词, 如: both, all, every (everything, everybody, everywhere) 等。这些词都是表示“所有、每一 个、两者都”等概念的, 如果用not 否定这些词 就使句子产生了部分否定之义, 表示“不都 ⋯⋯”,“并非⋯⋯都”等

6. 固定词组 含有否定词而又表示否定的固定词组有很多，常见的 有，as likely as not (大概，很可能），none the less （依然，依旧），and what not （诸如此类）等。 He will forget all about it as likely as not. 他很可能会忘记得干干净净。
3. 否定形式的条件句 否定形式的条件句有时会含有强烈的肯定意义。 Well, if it isn’t beautiful. 哇，太漂亮了。 I’ll teach you how to behave, see if I don’t. 我要教你懂点规矩，我说话算话。

英语否定句翻译
英语(yīnɡ yǔ)否定句翻译一、全部否定(Complete Negation)全部否定是指将句子否定对象加以全盘、彻底地否定。
常用的全部否定词与习惯用语有：not， no， none，never， nobody， nothing，neither…nor， nowhere，no one， etc. 只要使用上述(shàngshù)否定词，都是具有全部否定意义的句子。
翻译成中文时，一般把全部否定词照翻即可。
例：He is not a translator.他不是(bù shi)翻译。
This problem is so difficult that none of us cansolve it.这个问题太难，我们(wǒ men)当中没人能解决。
二、部分(bù fen)否定(Partial Negation)部分否定在英语句子中是对some， all， both，every， many， much， always， often等词的否定，不论否定词“ not”放在这些词的前面，还是同句中谓语一起构成否定式谓语，都属于部分否定。
可译为：“并非所有的都”；“并不全是”；“不一定总是”。
例：All that glitters is not gold. (=Not all that glitters is gold.) 闪光的东西不一定(yīdìng)都是金子。
Both of the instruments are not precision ones. (=Not bothof the instruments are precision ones.)这两台仪器(yíqì)并不都是精密仪器。
从以上两例可看出，not every=some， not both=one， not always=sometimes，not wholly=in some degree not together=somewhat.三、双重否定(Double Negation)双重否定是指两个否定词并用，否定同一个单词，或者一个否定词否定另一个否定词，其否定意义互相抵消得到肯定意义。
