Step 1:Warm-up
1.日常口语问候。
2.教师播放Unit 1歌曲“My small cat”，学生跟着哼唱。
3.师生交流，复习旧知。
T: How old are you? How tall are you？

S:Zhang is (older) than Li. Li is (younger) than Zhang. Zhang is (taller) than Li. Li is (shorter) than Zhang. Zhang is (stronger) than Li.
（指名学生把单词贴到黑板相应的位置。

4.学生表演之前准备的对话。
S1:How tall are you?
S2:I’m … metres.
S1:You are taller / shorter than me.
S1:How old is he?
S2:He’s … years old.He’s older / younger than me.
Step 2:Presentation1.吹气球比赛。
(1)请两名学生上台吹气球，教师发指令“Make it bigger.”，这两名同学一边吹气球，其他同学随他们吹的节奏加油：Bigger!Bigger！Bigger！看谁在指定的时间内吹得大，谁就获胜。
（板书：bigger）教师引导：Can you make it smaller?
(2)学生然后拿着吹大的气球，慢慢地放出空气，其他同学喊“Smaller!Smaller!Smaller!”（板书:smaller）
2.教师拿出卷尺，一边拉长一边说:Longer!Longer!Longer!慢慢放松卷尺，说:Shorter!Shorter!Shorter!（板书:longer和shorter）
3.说句子。
(1)This apple is bigger than that one. That apple is smaller than this one.This orange is bigger than that one. That orange is smaller than this one. (分别出示苹果和橙子的图片)
(2)Lily’s hair is longer than Lucy’s. Lucy’s hair is shorter than Lily’s. (出示两个女孩图像)
4.学习heavier和thinner。
(1)教师指名一学生到黑板前，和老师做比较，能用哪些词说出相貌特征？（tall,short,fat,thin,old,young,heavy,thin…）板书：thinner和heavier
(2)让学生仔细观察以上两词，看他们的书写有什么特征？小结:thinner 双写最后一个字母加 er;heavier变y为i加-er。
(3)说句子。
He is fat but she is thin.She is thinner than him.He is heavier than her.（出示一男一女对比效果明显的图片）
5.小组合作:四人小组运用所学的形容词的比较级，配上自己喜欢的节奏自编chant，交流展示。
6.出示单词卡片，领读单词，打开课本，听录音跟读。
7.开火车读单词。
8.小结:形容词比较级的变化规则。

9.教师与一位同学比手掌大小，比手臂长短，然后引出下列句型：My arms are longer than yours.（yours相当于“your+名词”）Your hands are smaller than mine.
Step 3:Consolidation and extension1.领读Let’s learn中的句子,纠正读音，并回答问题。
T:How heavy is Jim?
S:He is 52 kilograms.
T:Who is heavier,Jim or John?
S:Jim.T:So Jim is heavier than John.
S:John is thinner than Jim.
2.用形容词比较级自由描述动物特征。
（看大屏幕）
3.课堂小练习。
（PPT展示）
(1)全班学生一起做;再找学生回答。
(2)给学生时间独立完成练习，再核对答案。
4.学后反思：教师对本节课进行评价总结。

1.抄写并熟记单词，读熟Let’s learn的对话。
2.比较周围的同学、家人，并进行模拟对话。
3.完成练习册对应习题。

本节课设计了多种游戏活动，如:吹气球比赛、肢体比较等，让学生在轻松愉悦的氛围中学习英语，这样在很大的程度上可以提高学生的兴趣，但是如果学生整堂课都处于高度兴奋之中，注意力都集中在游戏上，而忽略在游戏中使用和巩固相关语言知识，那么这样的活动无疑是个无效的活动，因此在每次活动后，都必须设有检查和小结环节，引导学生归纳总结所学语言知识，整个教学过程动静结合，节奏快慢适中，学生不易疲劳，乐于学习，能运用所学知识进行交流，课堂效率较高。

本册中所涉及的一般现在时、一般将来时、过去时等句型中对人称、是动词的变化、行为动词的运用对小学生都是一个难点，要打好此部分的基础，为六年级的毕业考试及初中的学习打好基础。
二、Learning analysis我所任教两个班有学生78人，其中女生56人，男生22人，总体情况来看，女生的学习自觉性非常强，学习效率也很高。
而男生学习习惯相对较差，多数男生在学习上都不甚操心，需要老师和家长随时提醒。
总之，在学习习惯上，还需要花功夫来培养。
在知识方面，大多数孩子能在基础部分掌握比较牢固，但在对词语的理解与运用能力方面，很多孩子只能运用工具书去理解，联系上下文理解的能力没有形成。
在阅读方面，也有部分孩子练习题和短文根本就对不上号，不知道两者结合起来，边阅读边思考，造成了读不懂文章的现象，更不用说读懂文章的主要内容，把握文章的思想情感了。
在习作方面，有孩子写的东西，言之无物，内容空洞，缺乏可读性，美感差；有的孩子事无巨细，一一罗列，缺乏一个鲜明的中心。
三、Teaching aims1、能够听、说、读、写单词语phon、weak、worried、light、heavy。
2、能够四会掌握句子：How old are you? How tall are you? How heavy are you?以及相应的回答。
3、会读课文。
