文学讲座英语发言稿范文

Good morning/afternoon/evening. It is my great honor to stand before you today and deliver a lecture on literature. Literature has always been a vital part of human civilization, reflecting our history, culture, and the essence of human nature. In this lecture, I will explore the significance of literature, its evolution, and the role it plays in our lives.Firstly, let us delve into the significance of literature. Literature serves as a mirror to the society we live in. It portrays the social customs, moral values, and the struggles of the people during aparticular period. Through literature, we can gain insights into thepast and understand the roots of our culture. Moreover, literature has the power to inspire and educate us. It can instill in us a sense of justice, empathy, and love for humanity. As George Bernard Shaw once said, "Without literature, life would be a dry, flat affair."Throughout history, literature has evolved in various forms, each reflecting the social and cultural changes of the time. The earliest forms of literature were epics, ballads, and myths, which were passed down orally. As civilization progressed, the written word became more prevalent, giving rise to poetry, drama, and prose. In ancient Greece, for example, epic poetry and drama were the dominant forms of literature, reflecting the values and beliefs of the society. During the Middle Ages, religious literature and chivalric romances were popular, while the Renaissance saw the rise of humanism and the exploration of new themes and ideas. In the modern era, literature has become more diverse and complex. We have witnessed the emergence of various literary movements, such as Romanticism, Realism, and Modernism. These movements have challenged traditional norms and explored new dimensions of human experience. For instance, Romanticism emphasized emotion, individualism, and nature, while Modernism questioned the very foundations of reality and language. The role of literature in our lives cannot be overstated. It not only entertains us but also enriches our minds and souls. Reading literature can broaden our horizons, deepen our understanding of human nature, and enhance our empathy towards others. Moreover, literature can serve as asource of inspiration, guiding us through life's challenges and helping us to find our inner strength. In conclusion, literature is a powerful tool that has shaped our civilization and continues to influence our lives. It reflects our history, culture, and the essence of human nature. By studying literature, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Let us embrace the beauty of literature and continue to cherish this invaluable treasure of human civilization.Thank you for your attention. I welcome any questions or comments you may have regarding the lecture.。

中华优秀传统文化演讲比赛英语作文

中华优秀传统文化演讲比赛英语作文Chinese Traditional Culture Speech Competition EssayHi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to talk to you about the amazing traditional culture of China. It's something I've learned a lot about in school and from my grandparents, and I think it's really cool and important.Let me start by telling you about some of the awesome festivals we celebrate in China. One of my favorites is the Spring Festival, also called Chinese New Year. It's the most important festival and celebrates the start of the new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. We have amazing decorations with lots of red for good luck, delicious foods like dumplings, and fun traditions like giving red envelopes with money. My grandma always gives me a red envelope!Another festival I love is the Mid-Autumn Festival, when we eat mooncakes and appreciate the bright full moon. The Dragon Boat Festival is cool too - we eat sticky rice dumplings called zongzi and there are dragon boat races! So many fun festivals with interesting traditions behind them.Speaking of traditions, let me tell you about some really old and important ones in Chinese culture. There's the values of filialpiety, which means respecting your parents and ancestors. My parents always tell me stories about our ancestors and why I need to honor them. Confucius was a famous philosopher who taught a lot about filial piety and other virtues. Then there's the idea of yin and yang, which represents opposite forces that need to be balanced, like dark and light or female and male energy. You see the yin yang symbol everywhere! There's also the concept of the five elements - wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. They're connected to so many aspects of life.China's traditional arts and crafts are beautiful too. Like calligraphy - that's the art of fancy handwriting and brushwork. It takes years to master and the works are like paintings. My grandpa does calligraphy and his works are hanging in our home. There's also traditional Chinese painting, which uses brushes and ink to create landscapes, plants, animals, and more. The style is very different from Western painting. And things like paper cutting, ceramics, jade carving, and embroidery are other amazing crafts.Let's not forget about Chinese philosophy and literature! There are classics like the I Ching, Tao Te Ching, Art of War, andFour Books that teach wisdom, strategy, virtue and more. My mom loves reading me stories from Journey to the West about the Monkey King's adventures. Such great imagination! And I can't talk about culture without mentioning Chinese traditional medicine and practices like acupuncture, herbal remedies, martial arts, feng shui and more. They've been used for thousands of years to stay healthy in mind and body. I even know some kung fu moves! Finally, I want to talk about something at the heart of Chinese culture - family. Families are very close-knit and the ideas of ancestry, kinship, and continuing your family line are very respected. Grandparents often live with the families and children have a strong bond with them.Every weekend my grandparents tell me stories and teach me about our traditions. I love learning about the meanings behind holidays, values, arts, and everything. China has such a deep, amazing culture that has survived for thousands of years. I feel so lucky to be part of it!There's so much more I could say, but I'll stop there. Thank you for listening! I hope you learned a little about the richness of Chinese traditional culture. It has really fascinating customs, philosophies, arts and values. I'm proud of my heritage and culture, and look forward to carrying on the traditions.。

I’m very glad to be here to have a speech. The topic of my speech is <the spirit of sports>.As far as I’m concerned, I’m a sheer amateur of sports, being fascinated by swimming, running, mount aineering and so on. I couldn’t agree with these perspectives from people who dislike sports, because you’ll feel greatly relieved after being drenched in sweats by sports. Sports can also help you forget your worries and stress, feeling unprecedented relaxed. As is known, a healthy body is extraordinarily crucial. Moreover physical exercise undeniably exerts a far-reaching influence on keeping ourselves fit. In taking part in out-door sports, we are closer to nature and can take in fresh air. The beauty of nature will keep us clear-headed, which is essential to our health. Besides sports can stimulate the circulation of blood and help to excrete the wastes in the body. It also can work up our appetite and activate or digestion. In a word, sports can give rise to a strong body for us.In contemporary society, with the increasing focus on health, people in ever expanding numbers join the trend of doing sports and begin to accept more and more sorts of fashionable sports, ranging from hiking to diving. From this phenomenon, we can see not only do sports play a significant role in health, but also lay a solid foundation for human beings’ spirit.Taking hiking for example, it’s a blend of man and nature completely way to travel, and also a kind of sports that not only need your physical strength, but also need the patience, perseverance and persistence. At the beginning of climbing a mountain, you’ll be exciting with the fantastic scene of mountain, river and water. However, after a half way, you’ll fell so t ired and exhausted. The climbing road becomes more and more steep. At that time, it requires your persistence and determination to conquer arduous situations. It just likes the life, the closer the success is, the more difficulties you must endure. From my aspects, the enchantment of sports is that it’s a challenge for the limit of your body --- both a sort of healthy and popular life style and an reflection of optimistic and positive attitude. Just like nowadays, the development of Olympic games is harmo nious and prosperous, for the reason that it’s not only forshaping human’s body, but more for pursuing a king of spirit --- faster, higher, stronger. This is my speech. Thank you.英语演讲比赛主题演讲稿怎么写篇4In Calaveras, California, there lived a man whose name was Jim Smiley. Jimenjoyed betting somuch that he would bet on anything. of being a human.beside, honesty is a traditional moral of china.since ancient times,we all take honesty as a standard of judge a person’s quality.we can not afford to lose honesty because losing honesty means to be fail.in business, losing honesty means losing money or customers, then you will fail in your business.take a simple example,a seller who always gives short weight to the customers unchangeable(一)change the unchangeable good morning, everyone.it’s my pleasure to deliver this speech here.the subject of my presentation is “change the unchangeable”, which means try your best to make a change when stuck in an unchangeable situation.no wonder that there exists something unchangeable in our life, getting into the way of striving for what we want.there are plenty of unchangeable obstacles for us.they are serious and they are many.they will hardly be meet.but know this, my friends, they will be meet.once you believe in yourself, the unchangeable is going to be changed.nothing is impossible, and in a sense, nothing is unchangeable!the thing absolutely unchangeable does not exist.sometimes, adversities seems really unchangeable for the moment, but we must realize that they can be changed in some way.moses was a stutterer, yet he was calledon to be the voice of god.as we can also see in the film “the king’s speech”, stammer is unchangeable for the king, the duke of york.but once his realized that he need to make a change a nd inspired by the words “to be or not to be, it is a question”, he returned to the hospital, and accepted the retreatment again.with the help of the doctor lionel logue, he gradually made progress and managed to get over his unchangeable physicaldisability.these were the people who managed to change the unchangeable.some of them make a change in a direct way, and others do not change the adversity unchangeable exactly, but they succeed in changing what they could do in the unchangeable situation.they changed the authoritative view the majority put on them.and this is the right way in which we can change the unchangeable.to conclude, i appeal to all of you for doubting the unchangeable and trying to change the unchangeable.(二)change the unchangeable you think that you are a victim.in fact, you’re not a victim.so stop blaming other people or your circumstances for your problems, just because you don’t like success.realize that you, and only you, are responsible for your destiny.in a word, you just make great effort;keep the right attitude, and believe that everything is possible if you try to do it.change the unchangeable;your life will be better.(三)change the unchangeable when i was about 10 years old in primary school, i believed that my future would have nothing to do with two things: 中期流程
