My mom insisted we stop to take a family picture with the picturesque landscape as the backdrop. Getting my little brother to sit still and smile was a challenge, as always, but we managed to get a good shotafter some effort. It was the first time I'd ever been so close to farm animals and it was a very cool experience.On the walk back to our inn as dusk fell, we passed fields upon fields of crops stretching out to the horizon. They swayed softly in the evening breeze, creating patterns like green waves in an ocean. Farmhands were guiding oxen that pulled simple wooden plows, tilling the soil in the fading light just as theirancestors had done for centuries. I felt like I had traveled back in time to a more simple, pastoral way of life. It was all so different yet somehow reassuring in its timeless consistency compared to the rapidly changing modern world I know.That night after dinner, we simply sat outside under a canopy of bright stars, the likes of which you can never see in the light-polluted city. I spotted planets and even a shooting star as we roasted marshmallows over a crackling fire. My little brother's face was smeared with sticky marshmallow goo, but he didn't care one bit, giggling gleefully as he shoved more in his mouth. Those are the simple moments of pure joy that you don't get in the hustle and bustle of urban life.The next morning, I woke up to roosters crowing at the first light of dawn. The air was cool and crisp and smelled of morning dew on the grass. A low-hanging mist hovered over the nearby fields, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere. I sat on the little wooden porch, wrapped in a warm blanket, and simply listened to the sounds of birds greeting the new day. So much peace and beauty in those quiet moments before the rest of the world had stirred.After a hearty breakfast of fresh farm eggs, crispy bacon, and homemade bread, it was sadly time for us to pack up and headback to the city. I didn't want to leave this charming rural paradise. As we drove away, I looked back wistfully at the rolling hills, ancient forests, and patchwork of fields disappearing behind us. I made a vow to myself that I would return again soon to reconnect with the refreshing simplicity of the countryside.So while I love my modern city life with all its excitement and conveniences, this trip reminded me of the importance of unplugging from that fast pace sometimes. Of slowing down, appreciating nature's beauty, and cherishing quality time with loved ones away from distractions. The countryside restores part of your soul in a way the city simply can't.
