加之，八年级学生英语学习的兴趣明显减退，使得学生间的差距日益拉大。
基于学生特点，我的英语课堂致力增加英语课堂的趣味性，适当降低学习难度，给予每个学生成功的机会，让学生在乐中学会交流互助、学会合作学习。
思路解析：针对学生的个性特点，本阅读材料中的人物关爱他人的品质为对学生进行教育提供了契机。
我围绕对学生进行关心他人、乐于助人的情感教育为主线，设计了三个活动：Helping the teacher; Helping each other; Helping Craig. 在活动Helping the teacher中，让学生帮助转述教师的话，排列句子复习宾语从句，并用听力引出邀请函，让学生总结邀请函的写作方法。
在活动二Helping each other 中，先小组自学新单词，然后通过小组间PK进行巩固；接下来三读文章：浏览文章判断预测图片的正误初步感知；速读文章回答问题进一步加深了解；细读文章完成1b；将介绍魁克.柯伯格、“解放儿童”、课文重难点句的讲解、点评设置成任务卡，由各小组抽取任务卡并通过展示来完成。
