We all piled into tents and made s'mores around the campfire at night, telling spooky stories and staring up at the bright stars. During the days, we went on long hikes through the forest and splashed around in the icy cold streams. My cousin Billy got stung by a bee and his arm swelled up like a balloon! We saw lots of cool wildlife too – deer, rabbits, squirrels, and even a black bear from pretty far away. Camping was a blast but I was definitely ready for a real bed and shower when we got home.For the last part of the summer, I attended a soccer camp during the days. I love playing soccer so it was awesome to spend a whole week just focusing on drills, games, and improving my skills. All the running around really helped me build up my stamina and endurance. I made some new friends at the camp and we've kept in touch to have soccer playdates. I can't wait until the new season starts up!Summer vacation is a precious break from the normal routine of school, homework, and early bedtimes.
