The stress definitely ramped up this yearas a senior, with the added pressures of college applications looming.That long slog of filling out form after form, writing andre-writing admissions essays until they were perfect, checking and double-checking application materials - it was a grueling several months, to say the least! But I'm happy to report that all the hard work paid off when I was accepted to my dream school, Kenyon College. Come this fall, I'll be heading off to their gorgeous rural campus in Ohio to pursue my passion for English literature and creative writing.Throughout the college admissions process, my parents and teachers were such an amazing support system, cheering me on every step of the way. My dad, Mike - a lifelong academic himself who has a PhD in physics, provided tons of guidance and pep talks to keep me motivated. And my English teacher Mrs. Robertson, a brilliant writer and instructor herself, helped polish my admissions essays until they shone.So that's my life story in a nutshell as I prepare to start this exhilarating new chapter! While I'll dearly miss seeing my high school friends every day, getting to finally dive headfirst into studying my favorite subject at one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country is a dream come true for this booklover. Ihave no doubt the coming years at Kenyon will be filled with thought-provoking classroom discussions, meeting brilliant professors, and surrounding myself with fellow literature nerds. Maybe I'll even get some of my creative writing published in the college's literary journal!As for long-term plans after college, I'm keeping an open mind for now.
