专业英语写作一、科技英语的组成部分1、标题（题名）（title）1)标题是一中“标记”，而不是句子。
标题不采用句子形式，比句子简洁。
2)标题中不要使用缩略语、化学分子是、专利商标名称、行话、罕见的或过时的术语。
已得到整个科技界或本行业科技人员公认的缩略词语，才可用于标题中，否则不要轻易使用。
3)标题的结构●英文标题以短语为主要形式，尤以名词短语(noun phrase) 最常见，即题名基本上由1 个或几个名词加上其前置和( 或) 后置定语构成。
例如：The Frequent Bryophytesin the Mountain Helanshan( 贺兰山习见苔藓植物) ；Thermodynamic Characteristics of Water Absorption of Heat treated Wood( 热处理木材的水分吸着热学特性) 。
●短语型标题要确定好中心词，再进行前后修饰。
各个词的顺序很重要，词序不当，会导致表达不准。
●标题一般不应是陈述句。
因为题名主要起标示作用，而陈述句容易使题名具有判断式的语义；况且陈述句不够精练和醒目，重点也不易突出。
少数情况( 评述性、综述性驳斥性) 下可以用疑问句做题名，因为疑问句可有探讨性语气，易引起读者兴趣。
例如：Can Agricultural Mechanization be Realized Without Petroleum?( 农业机械化能离开石油吗?) 。
4)题名的字数题名不应过长。
国外科技期刊一般对题名字数有所限制。
例如，美国医学会规定题名不超过 2 行，每行不超过42 个印刷符号和空格；美国国立癌症研究所杂志J Nat Cancer Inst 要求题名不超过14 个词；英国数学会要求题名不超过12 个词。
这些规定可供我们参考。
总的原则是，题名应确切、简练、醒目，在能准确反映论文特定内容的前提下，题名词数越少越好。
5)中英文题名的一致性。
同一篇论文，其英文题名与中文题名内容上应一致，但不等于说词语要一一对应。
在许多情况下，个别非实质性的词可以省略或变动。
例如：工业湿蒸汽的直接热量计算，The Direct Measurement of Heat Transmitted Wet Steam 。
英文题名的直译中译文是" 由湿蒸汽所传热量的直接计量"，与中文题名相比较，二者用词虽有差别，但内容上是一致的。
6)题名中的冠词。
在早年，科技论文题名中的冠词用得较多，近些年有简化的趋势，凡可用可不用的冠词均可不用。
例如：The Effect of Groundwater Quality on the Wheat Yield and Quality ．其中两处的冠词the 均可不用。
7)题名中的大小写。
题名字母的大小写有以下 3 种格式。
●全部字母大写。
例如：OPTIMAL DISPOSITION OF ROLLER CHAIN DRIVE●每个词的首字母大写，但3 个或4 个字母以下的冠词、连词、介词全部小写。
例如：The Deformation and Strength of Concrete Dams with Defects●题名第1 个词的首字母大写，其余字母均小写。
例如：Topographic inversion of interval velocities ．目前 b. 格式用得最多，而 c. 格式的使用有增多的趋势。
2、作者（author）1)作者。
中国人名按汉语拼音拼写；其他非英语国家人名按作者自己提供的罗马字母拼法拼写。

单位名称要写全( 由小到大) ，并附地址和邮政编码，确保联系方便。
单位英译一定要采用本单位统一的译法( 即本单位标准译法)，切不可另起炉灶。

2)写摘要注意事项1)摘要虽然通常摆在正文前面，但往往是在最后写作。
写摘要要使用正规英语、标准术语，避免使用缩写词。
最好用第三人称，避免把各种事态混在一起实用，也避免把陈述式和命令式掺杂使用。
（Short words）2)精炼：摘要要求精炼，不宜列举例证，不宜与其他研究工作对比。
（refine）3)具体：摘要的每个论点都要具体鲜明。
（say what, not concern about）4)完整：摘要本身要完整。
5)长短：150-200字，3% of the length6)不要过于简单地只把论文标题加以扩展，使读者无法得到全文梗概。
（not onlyextension of title）5、关键词（keywords）:3-8个关键词是科技论文的文献检索标识，是表达文献主题概念的自然语言词汇。
科技论文的关键词是从其题名、层次标题和正文中选出来的，能反映论文主题概念的词或词组。
6、引言（introduction）向读者解释论文的主题、目的和总纲。
将长篇论文和设计某些不常见的内容的论文来说，引言的初步介绍，还要使读者便于阅读全文，引导读者明确地领会科学成果的意义、实验采用的方法和论文展开论点的计划。

其内容和写作要点与摘要类似。
其内容包括引言的中心思想，研究问题的提出及其重要性，研究内容和研究方法，突出的成果及其意义。
10、致谢（acknowledgement）1)对研究工作提供方便和帮助的实验室或个人表示感谢，尤其是为研究提供专门实验设备、或其他方面材料的个人表示感谢。

3)为本文出主意、提建议，或者帮助解释等。
作者可如实地指出其具体内容，说明他们所起的作用。

11、参考文献（reference）1)引用杂志论文作者，标题，杂志名称，卷号，期号，出版年月，论文首页与末页。

2)表示其他文献或别的作者的“报导”、“讨论”、“综述”用一般过去时或现在完成时。
3)表示研究过程中动作或状态的时态研究工作是作者撰写论文之前进行的，所以在论文中叙述作者作了哪些研究工作，研究对象的情况，研究过程中出现了什么现象，得出什么结果等，通常用一般过去时，但有时为了强调某一行为或状态业已完成或持续到撰写论文时，也可以用现在完成时。
4)表示研究“目的”的动词的时态●研究“目的”：是在着手研究室确定的，过去式●“本文”目的：一般现在时5)表示结论的动词的时态表示作者本人的观点，一件以及对所进行的研究的总结，通常用一般现在时。
如用一般过去时，则表示这一结论仅仅适用于该研究过程中的特定情况，不具有普遍性。
