2008年，第29届奥运会将要在中国的北京召开，我也要为奥运会做贡献！不过，我只是一位小学生，能为奥运做些什么呢？
我趴在书桌上，认真地想起来：嗯，我年龄还小，没法子做志愿者，得想想别的。
从古到今，地球妈妈用甘甜的乳汁哺育了一代代人类。
原来的她楚楚动人，绿色撒满每一个角落，地球上处处是鲜花，碧草，绿树，天空是那么蔚蓝，湖泊是那么清澈，动物们快乐地生活着。
可是，现在的人类为了自身的利益，滥伐森林，乱挖矿产……将她折磨得千疮百孔，使得水土流失，风沙肆虐。
人类只有一个地球，而地球正面临着严峻的环境危机。
“救救地球”已成为世界各国人民最强烈的呼声。
其实，保护环境的重要性，大家都知道，可真正做到的，又有几个呢？
对了，对了，我要做一个文明小福娃！我要从自身做起，保护环境。
啊呀，心动不如行动。
光说不练，可是假把戏啊，我可要执行我的决定了。
保护环境，先是节约用水，我首先上网查找了很多的节水小窍门，收获还真不少啊！我学到了好多我们小学生可以用的很好的小窍门呢：
平常，我们会经常帮妈妈做家务，洗餐具的时候，最好先用纸把餐具上的油污擦去，用热水洗一遍，最后才用较多的温水或冷水冲洗干净。
洗土豆、萝卜等瓜果蔬菜时，应先削皮后清洗。
在生活习惯上，不要用抽水马桶冲掉烟头和碎细废物。
看了这条，我心想，啊，原来不能这样做啊，我以后可一定要监督爷爷不要再往马桶里扔东西！对于家庭用水，往往经常可以变废为宝呢！掏米水可以用来浇花，也可以用来洗餐具。
平常，我们家中应预备一个收集废水的大桶，收集洗衣、洗菜后的家庭废水冲厕所。
节约用水，从一点一滴做起。
只要你我都遵循这句话，这看似一件件微不足道的小事情，人人都做，一定能将我们的地球建设得更美好！
和节水同样重要的，莫过于节电了。
对于我们小学生来说，应该使用节能灯，因为节能灯比普通白炽灯省75％的电，如果每个同学都用节能灯，这样可以节约多少度电啊！炎热的夏天快要来到了，我们应该尽量少用空调，多用电风扇，如果实在太热，想开空调，我也有一个窍门：空调的睡眠功能可以起到节能20％的效果。
我们还应该减少冰箱
门的开闭次数，缩短每次开门时间。
还有，电视音量开得越大，耗电也越大，有的同学总爱把电视音量开得很大，对听力不好，还浪费电，可真得注意了！而且，大家还是应该少用电脑，因为电脑是最耗电的啦，即使关了机，如果不拔掉插头，还是会浪费电。
说完了节水、节电，我又在考虑保护树木花草了。
小时候，我学习过一篇课文，文中的老爷爷在冬天，用粗绳子把树捆得紧紧的，这样保护了小树。
其实，生活中还有很多保护树木的窍门呢，在树干底部靠近地面约1米处涂上石灰可以防止害虫沿树干上爬损害树；记得看过一本书上写的，高大乔木和灌木最好混种。
因为灌木丛是鸟类栖息很好的场所，如果一味的只图美观而砍伐了灌木，那么鸟类一走，大树就会很快被虫毁坏。
我们还可以在树上搭窝引鸟类来防治虫害，这都是大家力所能及的啊，我们学校的同学们就做了很多精致、美丽的鸟巢，在大杨树上高高的挂着，这鸟巢寄托着大家的希望，我相信小鸟儿会喜欢的。
说到日常生活中我们少年儿童为保护环境的所作的事情，我不由得想起了学校的“废旧电池回收箱”。
在学校，老师们告诉大家：“废旧电池中含有大量有毒物质，这些有毒物质通过各种途径进入人体内，长期积蓄难以排除，损害神经系统、造血功能和骨骼，甚至可以致癌。
