1.教师用elephant图片及肢体语言教单词long, short, big, small ,tail.
2.教师继续用大象的图片和学过的句子It’s so...引导学生说出新句子It’s has…并提醒学生区分运用单数和复数名词。
3.看图说话比赛。
教师课前在教室两边墙上分别贴上几个动物图片，引导学生用句子It has…描述特点，说一句，得一分，看哪个组的学生说得又多又准。
4. Let’s talk
（1）教师引导学生看B部分的Let’s talk的图，猜测人物的对话内容。
（2）教师播放对话录音三次，引导学生理解课文对话并依次回答问题：What does Chen Jie say about the elephant? It’s has a long nose .What does John sa y about the elephant? It has a short tail. What does Mike say about the elephant? It has small eyes and big ears.

二、教学设想本课为At the zoo第3单元第4课时，我在教学的热身阶段，采取了Self-introduction, chant复习前一单元形容词等来营造良好的学习氛围，通过单元情景图观察引出新知。
巩固操练时，活动有很多，比如pairwork, draw and say, choose and say等，让学生的听，说得到了很好的练习，也检测了学生掌握新知的效果。
三、学情分析：该班孩子从一年级开始学英语，但学生1、2年级英语基础性差，没掌握什么。
现在三年级，有许多旧知识都没掌握，所以本节课的新知教学难度大。
学生怕说错，英语课堂积极性也不高。
课堂上通过多鼓励、动物分组评价表扬来提高学生的积极性，让他们在整堂课大胆说英语，大胆展示自己，他们的学习激情更加高涨。
四、教学目标：1、能用It has...句型来描述elephant特征；2、能用更多的句子描述动物园动物以及家里宠物；3、会爱护动物，用实际行动保护动物。
