教学过程
Step 1 Warming up
1. 师生问答：
Where is Sally now?
Where will Sally go in September?
How will her classmates say goodbye to her?
Will Sally miss her friends?
学生自由回答，在学生说的过程中，教师根据学生所说的内容板书（或出示卡片），如：have a farewell party, take some photos, make a DVD, make a year book, invite the parents 等，复习上节课学习的知识。
2. 揭示课题并板书：Unit 8 Farewell Part B
Step 2 Presentation
（一）整体感知课文，了解对话内容
1. 教师提出问题，请学生带着问题整体感知课文。
如：
Today they are having a farewell party.
What did they say to Sally?
What did they give to Sally?
What did they watch?
2. 请学生看课本第59页，教师播放录音，学生认真听，然后找出答案并回答问题。
3. 教师根据学生的回答板书。
（二）学习课文内容
1. 学习单词information和第一段对话。
（1）教师在黑板上句子中的 a year book词组下面画一条线，问：What can we find from the year book? 学生自由回答，如：names, addresses, phone numbers, email, age等。
教师板书学生所说内容后，请学生读课文的第一段，从中找出一个词来代替它们。
（2）教学单词information，然后请学生利用已掌握的语言知识造句。
如：
We can find the information from the computer.
We can find the information from the book.
We can find the information from the newspaper.
...
（3）全班学生读课文第一段，然后请读得好的学生当小老师，领读对话。
2. 学习单词gave和第二段对话。
（1）教师在黑板上句子中的DVD下画一条线，问：What can we see from the DVD? （2）学生自读课文，然后总结出答案，教师在单词DVD旁板书：some photos, Sally’s birthday party, Thanksgiving dinner
（3）教学单词give的过去式gave,并复习部分动词的过去式。
请学生读一读第二段对话，引出新词gave的教学，告诉学生该单词是动词give的过去式。
然后出示单词have,通过比较学习，巩固gave的音和形。
教师出示make, watch, do, is/am, are, go, take, have, give, sing, swim等动词，先全班学生一起拼读单词，然后教师说动词，学生说出该动词的过去式，并请一位学生在黑板上写出过去式，其余学生写在本子上。
请学生说一说动词过去式的用法及动词过去式的变化规则。
（4）请学生读一读第二段对话，重点学习Do you remember...?这个句型。
3. 学习第三段对话，巩固表示过去时间的单词或词组。
（1）请同桌同学相互读一读第三段对话，进行互助学习。
（2）出示词组last year，请学生说一说它的意思。
告诉学生，在谈论过去的事情时，常常有一些表示过去时间的单词或词组。
请学生回忆一下还学过哪些，然后请几位学生说一说，如：last year, night, yesterday, yesterday morning等。
（三）熟读课文
1. 教师播放课文录音或多媒体教学光盘二至三遍，学生边听边看课文，并小声模仿跟读。
2. 请个别学生示范，当小老师领读。
3. 请学生在小组内分角色练习对话。
（四）巩固练习
1. 完成课本第62页的Listen and circle the right picture.部分。
（1）请学生看这8幅图，在图下写出相关单词。
（2）教师播放录音，学生圈出所听到的图片。
（3）教师出示正确答案，学生订正。
2. 完成课本第60页的Read. Tick or cross.部分。
（1）教师出示单词卡片leave，请学生快速阅读短文，并根据短文内容猜测单词的意思。
（2）教学单词leave，告诉学生在短文中，其意为离开，另一种意思是遗留，其过去式是left。
（3）请学生再次细读短文，判断句子正误。
（4）教师请学生说出自己的判断，并指出自己的判断所依据的句子。
3. 学习韵律诗：Open My Year Book。
（1）教师播放录音两遍，学生认真听，熟悉其韵律和节奏。
（2）教师再次播放录音，学生跟着录音有节奏地说韵律诗。
（3）师生一起边做动作，边说韵律诗。
Step 3 Extension
综合活动：最美好的回忆。
1. 完成课本第60页的Ask and answer 部分。
（1）教师播放录音，学生模仿跟读。
（2）同桌合作，根据图片提示，进行问答练习。
2. 最美好的回忆
（1）教师出示本册教材第11页的图片，请学生回忆。
T: Do you remember this picture?
S1: Wang Tao broke his leg.
S2: His classmates went to see him.
S3: They gave him a basket of fruits.

（2）教师出示五年级下册教材第38页的图片，请学生回忆。
T: Do you remember this picture?

3. 最美好的回忆（Ⅱ）。
（1）请学生８个人一组，拿出带来的照片，回忆这几年的班级活动内容。
（2）每组选取一至二张照片，并推举一位学生向全班汇报。
如果讲述有不足之处，其他小组成员可给予帮助或补充。
Step 4 Homework
1. 听课文录音，并模仿跟读。
2. 完成《活动手册》中本课的练习。
3. 选择一张照片（或画一幅画），写下当时的活动情景。
4. 完成课本第63页的自我评价。

通过讨论如何开欢送聚会，学习提出建议的句型Why not…? 通过对小学生活进行回顾，复习一般过去时。
语音部分复习tr，dr，ts，ds的读音规则。
2. We’ll have a party to say goodbye to her.（我们将为她举办一场欢送聚会。
）say goodbye to …是“向某人告别”的意思，在这个句子中不定式短语to say goodbye to her 作定语用，修饰party。
3. Oh，I’ll miss her.（哦，我会想念她。
）（1)miss是一个多义词，可以解释为“女士，小姐”，也可以用来称呼女教师，如本套教材中出现的Miss Gao就是“高老师”的意思。
（2)在本课中miss作动词，意思是“想念，思念”。
4. Let’s take some photos of our class.（我们拍一些班级的集体照吧。
）这个句子中的of表示“属于”的关系，可翻译成“的”，又如：a photo of my family （一张我家的合影），the pupils of Class Four（四班的学生）。
5. Why not make a year book?（为什么不制作一本毕业留念册呢？）（1) why not +原形动词的句型表示建议，意思是“……怎么样？”“为什么不……呢？”。
如：Why not call Sally?（为什么不打个电话给萨莉呢？）和Why Don’t you call Sally? 是一个意思。
教师可以结合第58页的看图说英语进行句型练习。
（2) year book是英美国家学校一年的“毕业留念册”，介绍当年学校的办学情况，通常有教职工和学生照片，还有很多活动的照片，因为是每年一本所以叫year book。
