饭菜热了又热，海伦才一边读一边吃。

到了夜晚，家人们都睡熟了，连家中看门的狗狗都卧在自己的窝中，打起盹来。

海伦还在如饥似渴地阅读着。

夜深，气温降低，海伦一连打了几个喷嚏，过了一会儿，一阵又一阵的倦意向她袭来，她急忙摇摇头，让自己清醒过来，可过了几分钟，又困了，她咬了一下自己的舌头，剧痛终于使她清醒，她又打起十二分精神，继续遨游在知识的海洋中。

一本盲文书被海伦读完了，可一阵钻心的疼痛让她不禁叫了起来，原来，手上的伤加重了。

她不想吵醒爸爸妈妈，又拿起另一本书，她实在太困了，趴在桌上，睡着了。
