Even Jia Zheng himself could not help smiling."Even if he studied another thirty volumes,it would just be fooling people"He retorted.(杨宪益、戴乃迭 译) 汉语:先生大名,如雷贯耳.
How can you catch tiger cubs without entering the tiger's lair .
six of one and half a dozen of the other 意同汉语“半斤 八两”.
(二)神话传说 汉语: 点铁成金——《列仙传》 夸父追日、精卫填海——《山海经》 英语: the touch of Midas 源于希腊神话 (可以把任何东西都点成金子) (三)寓言故事 汉语:掩耳盗铃——《吕氏春秋》(自欺欺人) 英语:kill the goose that lays the golden eggs 源自《伊索寓言》 (sacrifice future gains to present needs)
The sky will not fall apart, mind! It is not necessary to worry about that!
English:birds araid of the bow
The even tenor of their life had been disturbed, but things seemed to be settling down again. The villagers felt themselves back in the old rut. Being new here, I'm very much in the dark myself! Let's hear your assessment of it.
Don't snap and snarl at me when I'm trying to do my best for you. I give you my advice with the best will in the world and you turn round and lay the blame on me.
Don't laugh, the best is yet to come!
"Well you certainly are a guy! A dog given a bone who doesn't come back for more!" Her voice was as loud as when she bawled out the rickshaw men in the yard.
The way we poor folks try to emancipate ourselves is just like way the Eight Faries crossed the sea each displaying his own talent··· ··· [注]把“八仙过海”直译成英语,再另外说明the eight immortales of Taoism in Chinese folklore,使读者 了解“八仙”是中国神话故事里的人物。
Your great fame long since reached my ears like thunder . I am ashamed to display my incompetence before a connoisseur like yourself.

"Chou would you find your way back alone? It's easy to get lost on Paiyang Lake! "
Whoever ties the bell around the tiger's neck must untie it.
英语:avoid suspicion by throwing them off the scent___(杨宪益,戴 乃迭译)
"Humph! If you peer at a person through a crack, he looks flat! Don't be so prejudiced. "
Thanks
have to do as the cicada does when he jumps out of his skin : give them something to put them off the scent.
