现根据教学实践，联系英语绘本的长处，浅谈怎样高效利用绘本教学来培养学生的阅读乐趣。
1.英文绘本的选择1.1 选择适合学生年龄特点的绘本小学生的年龄特点决定了其认知水平还处于一个初级阶段，注意力的集中时间和集中程度都比较有限，听说读写能力比较薄弱。
为了避免给孩子造成心理负担，不要选择篇幅过长的绘本。
一般来说，故事文本的生词不超过总字数的2%，故事结构简单。
1~3年级可考虑选择以同句式或词组为主的有童趣的绘本，如 The Story of Tadpoles Looking for Mummy （《小蝌蚪找妈妈》）的故事；4~6年级可考虑选择有趣味性的，可以根据图片或语境猜测生词的绘本，如 My Lucky Day 中的动物表情非常生动，故事情节酝酿着波波高潮，结尾时的大转折更是将整个故事张力完美的作结于令人诧异的惊喜中，是一本集幽默与思考兼具的优质绘本。
1.2 选择情节有趣、富有想象的绘本绘本可以是童话、寓言，也可以是学生生活中的一些趣事，如 David , No 中讲述的是大卫平时喜欢在家里捣乱，妈妈对他的行为说 No. 的故事。
也可以兼顾小学生好奇心特别强的特点，选择有新意的绘本故事，这样才能有效吸引小学生的注意力。
如绘本 Good night, Moon 中讲的是小兔子夜晚睡不着，他看遍了房间里的每样东西，又一一和它们说晚安：除了视线里的梳子、玩具和椅子，还有孩子心里那些细腻的东西：Good night nobody... good night air... goodnight noises everywhere.1.3 选择与教材内容相关联的绘本从实际教学出发，英文绘本的选择也要考虑与课本教学的衔接，选择与课文相似话题的绘本，亦可是课堂教学的拓展和延伸，这样能更好地帮助学生复习课本上的内容，使英语绘本真正成为学生学习语言的一个重要途径。
