Actors, athletes, rock stars and even politicians whom we look up to are all celebrities. However, achievement in careers does not necessarily make celebrities idols to be worshipped blindly, as they think and make mistakes too as we common people do.Having a role model is of no harm, but we should not imitate everything we hear about the celebrities without any judgment. Learn from the celebrities with our minds open; do not let their persona overshadow our judgment. We should remember thathowever extraordinary these people are, they are also ordinary huamn beings and liable to make mistakes or even very bad decisions at some point of their life. For example, a number of athletes and rock stars have been associated with drugs. It is for us to decide what we should imbibe from them and what not.Meanwhile, though the celebrities are at the zenith of their professions, it is not always necessary that they are as good in their personal life. We should let their actions speak for them. What they do in real life is more important than what they preach. An ordinary man on the street, though unknown to the public, may be a better person than they are.介绍一个名人的英语作文篇5In my heart, there always exists a woman I admire since I was a primary studnt. Television, newspapers, magazines, and other media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people such as public figures and celebrities. Use specific reasons and details to explain your opinion.I think the media pay too much attention to the private lives of famous people. Television, newspaper magazines and web sites dig up all kinds of past bad actions. They say that these are true reflections of a person's character. This may be true if they occurred only a few years before, but some of these are things people did as teenagers. People in their forties are expected to explain something they did when they were fifteen. If they killed someone, obviously that's more than a youthful mistake. Usually, though, these incidents involve experiments with drugs or being reckless in a car. They're not something that the public needs toknow. The media love to say that the public has a right to know. That's not true. We don't need to know if a movie star or politician has had an extramarital affair. That is something of concern only to the people involved. We do need to know if someone we're electing to public office has been involved in shady business deals, but we don't need to know if he or she defaulted on a loan twenty years ago.It seems the media dig up these facts without giving thoughtful consideration to what might happen. It has an effect on the celebrity's family, especially the children. A celebrity's good name and credibility may be ruined before he or she can prove that rumors are false. If a case goes to court, paying a lawyer can use up all their money. Even if it doesn't come to that, they may find their career ruined. When are we, the public, going to make it clear to the media that we're tired of having to watch this kind of thing on the news? Wouldn't it be better if they would concentrate on more important issues?介绍一个名人的英语作文篇12Some athletes and entertainers earn millions of dollars annually. In contrast, an elementary school teacher, on average, probably makes less than $35,000 a year. I think the fact that this difference is commonplaces is a sign of our society’s misplaced values. It shows that we put more importance on entertaining our children than on educating them. It seems that the careers that are the least values in our society often are those that are the most important. Why is this so? The market determines who gets paid what. Teachers are paid by tax dollars. Sports teams make hundreds ofmillions of dollars every year. These teams earn fabulous profits from radio and television rights, as well as everything sold at the concessions stands. The same is true of movies. They are produced by studios that make huge profits annually. These enterprises can afford to pay their entertainers and sports figures huge salaries, because those athletes and film stars draw people to the entertainment. Why are we willing to pay so much to see a ball game or a movie, but not for a good teacher? Maybe it’s because we want distraction; we want to be entertained. Maybe it’s because we think of education as a right, which entertainment seems like a luxury. We expect to pay for our luxuries. It’s not that I begrudge the players and entertainers their huge salaries. Most of them have very short careers. Athletes may be too old in their early 30s. Many of them gamble early in their lives on making it big in the sports or entertainment world, and deny themselves a good education. They have little chance of a stable career, so they need to earn enough money to support them for a long time. On the other hand, most of us are n’t going to earn $10 million in a lifetime of work. So it’s hard to sympathize with people who do.We have to ask ourselves: who really give the most value to society?介绍一个名人的英语作文篇13In October 2003, Shenzhou V flew into space with Yang Liwei. dreams about life, different dreams at different life stage, and we need dreams to support us. dreams are like the stars we never reach in the sky, butlike most mariners(水手),we can chart our course by them. with the dream,we havea direction, with a direction, we were no longer the dream, there ishope, with hope, we have the strength to fight. my breath swallows the sky and make the yellow river overflow, my sword is famousin kyushu and it can collapse the five sacred mountains. at some time in the pasti also had am bitious words and i had some achievements. each achievement resultsfrom my hard work. i always believe that if you want to have more achievements thanothers, you must work fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow.so my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. whatever it is, pickit up and make it alive from today. lets--- move ----out! thank you for your listening!演讲稿二:三分钟英语励志演讲稿——catch the star catch the star that holds your destiny, the one that forever twinkles w ithinyour heart.accept the fact that not ev eryone is going to approve of the choices youve made.have faith in your judgment. catch the star that twinkles in your heart and it willlead you t o your destinys your capabilities and talents for they are what make you truly unique. the greatest gifts in life are not purchased, but acquired through hard work anddetermination.演讲稿三:三分钟英语励志演讲稿——we are the world ,we are the future someone said we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite. i dont know who wrote these words, but ive always liked them asa reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. we are all in the positionof the farmers. if we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. if we plant nothingat all, we harvest nothing at all. we are young. how to spend the youth it is a meaningful question. to answer it,first i have to ask what do you understand by the word youth youth is not a timeof life, its a state of mind. its not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or suppleknees. its the matter of the will. its the freshness of the deep spring of poet said to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. several days ago,i had a chance to listen to a lecture. i learnt a lot there. id like to share it withall of you. lets show our right palms. we can see threelines that show how our and life is. i have a short line of life.what about yours i wondered whether we could see our future in this way. well, letsmake a fist. where is our future where is our love, career, and life tell ,it is in our hands. it is held in all want the future to be better than the past. but the future can go betteritself. dont cry because it is over, smile because it happened. from the past, wevelearnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. weve learnt that we cant choosehow we feel, but we can choose what about it. failure doesnt mean you dont have it,it does mean you should do it in a different way. failure doesnt mean you should giveup, it does mean you must try harder. as what i saidat the beginning, we are reading the first verse of the first chapterof a book, whose pages are infinite. the past has gone. nothing we do will changeit. but the future is in front of us. believe that what we give to the world, theworld will give to us. and from today on, lets be the owners of ourselves, and speakout we are the world, we are the future.篇二:三分钟英语演讲稿good morning everybody, i’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech.we all know that bingxin has a famous saying “we always admire the beauty of flowersbut its sprout was watered by tears of struggle and rained by blood of sacrifice”.so for the majority, behind their success, are filled of sweat and tears. eagle flying in the vast firmament, must be experienced the pain of countless times fall under the cliff, then hammered out a pair of volley wings. a shinning ofpearls, inevitably suffered countless body friction and numerous waves’ shock. inthis view, a real successful people, and he must experienced numerous times to standup again and agin after failed, because without sweat and tears on the life road ,noone can casually get the beautiful flowers. alfter a heavy fall shi tiesheng lost his legs, it must be a heavy blow for anyone.but he didnt lose faith in life, but use his brain and hands to show the infinitelove of life; beethoven was blind and deaf, but he still had written the hero destinyand so on a large number of music works, in his unfortunately life, he doggedly grippedthe fate of the throat. they all had a fall, but they are strong enough to stand up,fight against fate and misfortune, finally they succeed. so for each of us, wrestlingis not terrible, lose confidence and courage in life is the most terribe thing. inmy opionion, the sweat and tears during the life’journey are very important forus, they hone our will, and eich our experience.as the saying goes, how can yousee the rainbow without a rainy day, while you dont work hard and not struggle, howcan you gain the successful flowers. all in all, the sweat and tears on the struggling road is inevitable, don’t lookfor shortcuts anymore, steadfast walk every step, we will succeed in the end. so beliefyourself, nothing is impossile, just do it. thank you for taking your time to listen to my speech, i hope in the near futurewe all can population is threatening the nature every rapid rise inworld population is not creating problems only forthe developing countries. the whole world faces the problem that raw materials are being used up at an increasing rate and food production can not keep up with the population in rich countries make the heaviest demands on the worlds resources, its food, fuel and land, and cause the most baby born in the united states will use in his lifetime 30 times more of theworlds resources than a baby born in india. unless all the countries of the world take united action to deal with thepopulation explosion there will be more and more people fighting for a share of lessand less land, food and fuel, and the future will bring poverty, misery and war tous most of the developing countries, it is a good idea to control thepopulation growth. 3分钟英语演讲稿(二) good morning/evening/afternoon, ladies and gentlemen : today, my speech is about talents,in my opionion, talents are indispensable innowadays
