本单元的阅读文段介绍的是中国的儿童节活动和美国儿童节的由来。
阅读要求：基础稍差的学生，只要能积极阅读，理解部分内容或文段大意即可。
中等程度的学生应该能在理解文段大意的基础上了解更多细节。
学有余力的学生，除了阅读文段并完成相应活动，还可以完成一些拓展性的任务，如比较中国和其他国家不同的传统节日。
二、教学建议1. 读前活动。
教师可以让同学们回忆一下去年的儿童节自己是怎么度过的。

阅读策略方面，本单元的图片除了提示小男孩写信这个信息外，对文章其他主要内容的提示作用不明显。

2. 读中活动。
教师提出几个问题。
一般的顺序应该是先易后难、先主旨大意类后细节类。
细节内容如：中国孩子儿童节常参加的活动：sing and dance, go to the cinema, go to the park等。
再如给总统写信的美国小孩的年龄、美国儿童节的日期等。
学生弄清楚问题后，开始独立阅读。
这时，教师应重点关注那些基础稍差的学生，随时鼓励、引导，辅导解答语言问题。
最后师生讨论Thinking tasks中的问题。
阅读通常需要多次进行，每次阅读的重点不同。
具体的阅读时间和次数，教师可以根据学生基础、教学时间等具体情况来安排。
学生独立阅读之外，还有多种其他阅读方式。

1.快速回答游戏
教师问学生What is the first month of the year? What is the second month of the year?...看谁说得快。
引导学生说出句子May is the fifth month of the year. June is the sixth month of the year.教师示范板书并领读。
2.学生操练单词，句子。
3.展示课件图片，播放录音，让学生模仿跟读Let’s talk.
4.学生练习读课文。
5. Let’s read and chant引导学生找到含有更多字母组合ai 的单词
6. 出示课件图片，展示故事情境。
7. 提问几个问题，比如Micky和Mimi谈到了哪几个月份、哪几

1.猜月份
把各小组的画收集起来，打乱顺序，让学生猜画的是哪一个月份的内容并用所学语言进行描述。
2.贴图游戏
学生拿出自己的图片或照片，选择自己喜欢的月份，把照片图片贴在相应的月份上，一边贴一边用英语说明，例如I like June. June is the sixth month of the year. Look, I’m singing .
3. 让学生三人一组，一人做解说，分角色练习。
最后戴上面具到前面表演。

4.指导学生完成本课Let’s check听力练习。
