Analysis of materials:
This unit introduces Canada. The reading is the first period in this unit. It mainly centers on the trip to Canada of two girls, Li Daiyu and Liu Qian .Following their trip ,we can know about basic information of Canada, including its geographical position, area, landforms, main cities, ecological environment and multiculture. All the way, we can appreciate the beautiful scenery of Canada and see many kinds of wildlife. At the same time, students can broaden their horizons. Of course, the centre of this lesson is to practice reading, including predicting, skimming, scanning and digesting. If Ss can learn the reading well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn Reading II of this unit well. So it plays an important part in this unit.
