与狮同行
与狮同行在此之前，非洲对我来说一直是一个无论心理还是地理上，都很遥远的概念。
但是不久以前的一次聚会，让这个遥远的非洲近在眼前了。
在重庆长江边上的一个咖啡厅里，我见到了一个叫星巴的奇怪名字的人，通过这次谈话我了解到了他的职业――野生动物保护，确切地说是狮子、猎豹等大型猫科动物的保护，他是目前第一个在国外从事野生动物保护的中国人。
他邀请我参加他的野保项目的纪录片的拍摄，并详细讲解了非洲大型野生动物目前的状况，以及现在迫切需要解决的问题。
这就是中国首个野生动物保护题材纪录片《与狮同行》的缘起。
坦率地讲，不到15分钟的时间，我就被他点燃了，很快就决定在我歇影赋闲开咖啡馆三年后，重新回到了纪录片这个艰难的职业漩涡里，但是这个看是轻率的决定，几乎彻底改变了我的纪录片的方向。
商定了出发日期，接下来就是器材问题，现在已经是不折不扣的高清数码时代，没有办法，关键时候我又想起了《数码影像时代》的吕尚伟先生。
在2006年我拍摄德国世界杯的时候，吕先生就经过多方协调，帮我调用了一台当时最新的HDV机器――JVC 110E，使我在德国世界杯期间如鱼得水。
经过一番交流，吕老师又像几年前那样，爽快地伸出了援手，不过这回已经是纯高清机器――JVC GY-HM750E了。
在北京第一次看见吕老师手中的机器，就感觉非常亲切，这款机器“身材”修长，在不失稳重的前提下，显现出了非常顺手的流线型机身。
唯一和前述机器不同的是，这回不用操心磁带的问题了，完全采用了存储卡式，这种进步为我以后的拍摄带来了极大的便利。
在这款机器上，不但有A和B两个卡槽，可以无接缝地保证记录的不间断，机身后面携带的专业锂电池，在充满电的情况下，可以基本保证一天的拍摄，左边的显示屏也明显比前述机型有了很大的改进，便于在拍摄的时候构图，以及及时进行回放。
满怀信心在中关村电子市场选购了一张32G的SDHC存储卡后，又另选了一块2000GB的大硬盘作为储存硬盘，为了保险起见，在走之前还特意到JVC公司，请专家临阵磨枪地培训了番，然后踌躇满志又心里打鼓地半硬着头皮登上了前往肯尼亚的航班。

Separate flip open covers protect card slots from dust, moisture and open separately for each card. If a cover is opened while the card is being recorded on, a warning message is displayed on the VF/LCD.
Native File Recording
The GY-HM700 incorporates JVC's Native File Recording technology that stores video in the ready-to-edit file format used by Apple's Final Cut Pro™ non-linear editing system. The ".mov" files created in the camera can be easily dragged onto the NLE timeline without conversion or rewrapping, saving time while keeping the recorded material first generation. There is no need to use an intermediate codec.
