After reading "Lady Chatterley's Lover" by D.H. Lawrence, I am left with a complex mix of emotions and thoughts. The novel delves into the themes of love, desire, and the constraints of society, and I found myself deeply engrossed in the story of Lady Constance Chatterley and her affairwith the gamekeeper, Oliver Mellors. One of the most striking aspects of the novel is its exploration of the impact of societal norms andexpectations on individual happiness and fulfillment. Lady Chatterley's struggle to find meaning and passion in her life, despite the limitations placed upon her by her social status and the expectations of her husband, is bothpoignant and thought-provoking. This theme resonated with me on a personal level, as it made me consider the ways in which societal pressures can stifle our true desires and prevent us from living authentically.Additionally, the novel's portrayal of the physical and emotional relationship between Lady Chatterley and Mellorsis both sensual and raw. Lawrence's prose is evocative and unapologetically explicit, and I appreciated the way hedelved into the complexities of human desire and intimacy. The characters' journey towards self-discovery andliberation from societal constraints is both compelling and, at times, heartbreaking.Furthermore, the novel's exploration of nature and the contrast between the industrialized, modern world and the natural, untamed landscape is a powerful metaphor for the characters' inner struggles. Lawrence's vivid descriptionsof the natural world served as a reminder of the inherent connection between humans and the environment, and I found myself reflecting on the ways in which our disconnection from nature can contribute to our feelings of alienationand discontent. In conclusion, "Lady Chatterley's Lover" is a novel that deeply moved me and left me with a renewed appreciation for the complexities of human relationships, the impact of societal expectations, and the beauty of the natural world. Lawrence's unflinching exploration of love, desire, and the human spirit has left a lasting impression on me, and I believe that this novel will continue to resonate with readers for generations to come.

Author:David Herbert Richards Lawrence (11 September 1885 –2 March 1930) was an English novelist, poet, playwright, essayist, literary critic and painter who published as D. H. Lawrence. Lawrence was born in the Midland-mining village of Eastwood, Nottingham. His father was a miner and his mother was better educated and genteel. Later he escaped from the mining world through education. In 1914, he married Fried in GermanyD.H. Lawrence & Lady Chatterley’s Lover.D.H. Lawrence was one of the most controversial English writers of the 20th century because of his being audacious in the erotic writing and original in describing sexual relationship. Many critics on D.H. Lawrence…s Lady Chatterley?s Lover have focused their atten tion on the novel?s social critique, gender issues, and the main characters? mental and psychological development, pointing out this novel has criticized the western industrial society and explored the ideal relationship between sexes and the irrational aspects of human mind.About Lady Chatterley’s Lover & Plot summary.Lady Chatterley's Lover was first published in 1928. And it?s the last long novel of Lawrence?s.The story concerns a young married woman, Constance, Lady Chatterley, whose upper-class husband, Clifford Chatterley, has been paralyzed and rendered impotent. Though they live carelessly, Life in their splendid house is like dead as a doornail. Lady Chatterley?s sexual frustration leads her into an affair with the gamekeeper, Oliver Mellors, which arouses her passion forlove and life. She often goes on a date with Mellors stealthily in his cottage and enjoys the original and energetic sexual life. Later, Constance gets pregnant and goes to Vince on vacation in order to deceive the public. At that time the gamekeeper?s undivorced wife comes back and discloses the affair between them. Constance is force to marry other man in order to give birth to the baby under the great pressure of status distance. After that, Constance goes to Scotland and Mellors finds another job in countryside, and both of them are looking forward the coming soon together.Character analyzing--Lady Chatterley.Connie, Lady Chattery, the main character of the novel, her emotions variation is the main clue of the whole story. She has been an unconventional woman since she was a fifteen years old girl. Before her marriage, she is simply Constance Reid, an intellectual and social progressive from a Scottish bourgeois family, the daughter of Sir Malcolm. When she marries Clifford Chatterley, a minor nobleman, Connie gets lot of changes. At first, she is not that women who tend to abandon her husband easily. She does not complain her paralyzed husband and company him everyday. She developed a habit of listening his husband?s handwriting every night and gets used to taking part in her husband?s so called gathering of literature in Wragby. But soon she got tired of such substantial mentality life. She gradually became negative and heavyhearted with her body getting thinner and t hinner. It driving her mad, She began weeping and don?t participate the gathering any more. Everyday she wondered that whether her life came to an end.Connie herself was not that a woman who really stood a dull and plain life though she was a lady, an upper-class woman asher natural instincts was fixed when she was a girl.At that time, her father Sir Malcolm Reid and her sister Hilda Reid played important roles in that period for they egged Connie on finding a lover. so her first lover Michaelis, a successful Irish playwright came to her life. Michaelis asked Connie to marry him, but she decided not to, realizing that he was like all other intellectuals: a slave to success, a purveyor of vain ideas and empty words, passionless. Then Connie turned to Mellors. She got what she wanted from Mellors that?s love. She was so lonely for a long time. She treated Mellors as her real husband even wanted to marry him or eloped. During this furtive time, her character had a great change which belonged to her nature. She was no longer the woman who wept in the living room and sighed in despair. When Connie introduced Mellors to her sister, she showed her determination thoroughly. Hilda was not satisfied with her sister?s lover. She thought Mellors was inferior to Connie and Connie would lose everything then became a average people if Connie chose to get together with Mellors. But Connie firmly thought that she had got a real life and she would not let it go. After a deliberate travel that Connie found an excuse to travel to Venice and decided not to go back Wragby any longer. She broke the conception?s constraint and managed to pursue freedom. It?s not a shameful thing to lust for one?s physical desire. She thought so, she did so.My general feeling about this novel. The book I read in the first half of this semester is Lady Chatterley’s Lover. According to liter ary critics, it is a book of “perverse, sensual and adultery”. What is more interesting is that Lawrence was no afraid of portraying in those unprintablewords. what really interested me was the great thoughts appeared in the book. They are thoughts on love, moral, mind and so on. They inspire me to think much. Maybe, many people, especially the male, blame Connie for her adultery with the gamekeeper, Mellors. They think she is not loyal to her marriage or her husband, Clifford. That seems to be self evident. But what I want is to expose those people toanother challenging opinion. Is Clifford loyal to Connie? I am not referring to Clifford?s relationship with Bolton, her nurse. I am referring to Clifford?s impotence. Though some may still argue, I debt most, especially the women, will admit that Clifford is not loyal to Connie. His impotency makes Connie suffer widowhood in a so called marriage. In the book Clifford is all devoted to his career and doesn’t think sex is an essential part of marriage, however, that is just his view not Connie?s opinion. It is unequal to require other people give up their innate rights for the reason that we have given up our rights. We all admit that everyone has right to pursuit happiness, and creature comfort is also kind of happiness. Having this premise, it is not wrong for a woman, Connie, to pursuit her own happiness.Actually, the wrong thing is their mirage. Clifford is impotent but he still marries Connie. Their marriage is doomed to be imperfect. Of course, I am not saying that impotent person should not get married. They could, but only if the couple love each o ther. However, that is not Clifford and Connie?s case. With such an absolutely wrong beginning, how can we demand the result to be right?。

(The thing that I have got after reading lady Chatterley’s lover)

(The thing that I have got after reading lady Chatterley’s lover)

The thing that I have got after reading lady Chatterley’s loverLady Chatterley’s lover is a famous no vel written by D.H. Lawrence. D.H. Lawrence. is UK’s modern novelist and he was considered to be one of the greatest writers of all time. Lawrence was born in a colliery family. His mother was a teacher. Lawrence was influenced a lot by his mother. This influence has been shown in a lot of his works. After graduation, Lawrence became a teacher. Later, he gave up this occupation and fully devoted himself to the creation. In order to get rid of the reality, Lawrence spent most of his time abroad and he died at the age of 44. During the twenty years’ creation, he had written a lot of wonderful works. Lady Chatterley’s lover is one of them. This book aroused some debates when it was published first. The reason is that it contains the details description for the sex. Before Lawrence passed away, he complained that his works would not be understood in 300 years. But ever since the 1960s of the last century, his books had become popular among the readers.Lady Chatterley’s lover is the most important work for Lawrence. It has this basic structure: Chatterley is an owner of the mine. When he came back from the front, he had the paralysis. He asked Connie, his wife, to marry with another man. Chatterley hope that in this way, they would have a child that could inherit his business in the future. Connie could not bear the dull life, so she falls in love with another miner and together they decided to leave. Of course Chatterley refused to do so, but this would not stop Connie and the miner. Lawrence depicted sex deeply in this book, but besides the description, it is more about the reflection for history, religion and economy. This book was banned initially because of its description for sex, but finally this book was recognized. This book has a deep influence for contemporary British literature and even the modern literature so it was considered to be one of the classical books in the history.Lawrence analyzed Connie deeply in this book. In the analysis process, the reader will discover Lawrence's good way of writing. This book’s main focus is for the men. In modern society, men became useless to a certain extent. Since in that time, men’s social status is higher than w omen, so men could represent the society in a certain way. The description is not only about the men, it is more about the industrial society. In this book, Chatterley and Connie are the main characters. They are husband and wife, but actually, they represent two different classes. Chatterley is cold and not enthusiastic, and he symbolizes a class that is lacking of vitality and near to death. However, Connie’s true lover in this book is very different in personality compared with Chatterley. He enjoys the nature and has a pleasant life. This books depicts human beings had been influenced in the society and becomes very practical, and the society had some negative parts which would bring bad things to human beings. The best way to get rid of this is to go back to nature. Nature is pure and the only way to get happiness is to get rid of the sophistication brought by modern society.Women were another side that this work focuses. Connie is a healthy woman and she falls in love with the miner. Her personality is very complicated. On the one hand, she has been influenced by the society. But on the other hand, she also enjoys the nature. The rules of the modern society restrain her love for the nature. She looked after her husband and discussed her husband’s writing. She had a very dull life, and this is her whole life. Lawrence criticizes the bad part of the civilization and approves Connie’s sex with another man. Connie became good after sex and had a new life, so this was like the recovering of human beings. Lawrence had the description of the sex in this book and he is more likely to discuss the modern society beyond this book.In the modern society, we have got a lot of things. With the advancement of science and technology, human beings live a better life compare with before. But besides this, technology also brings some negative consequences. An example is the World War, a lot of innocent persons died in this war. The World War contains the technology, but technology brings bad things to human beings. If human beings could not make the good use of it, it is not good. Now we are in the 21st century, science and technology brings us a lot of good benefits. It benefits the harmony of the society. For instance, IT industry brings human beings with a lot of benefits. But on the other hand, it has had some bad things. Lawrence used sex to be a good way of rebuilding Connie and he discussed the deep things of the society. Ronald Reagan, the former president of The United States of America once said in one of his speeches like this: ”As I looked out a moment ago from the Reichstag, that embodiment of German unity, I noticed words crudely spray-painted upon the wall, perhaps by a young Berliner: "This wall will fall. Beliefs become reality." Yes, across Europe, this wall will fall. For it cannot withstand faith; it cannot withstand truth. The wall cannot withstand freedom. And I would like, before I close, to say one word. I have read, and I have been questioned since I've been here about certain demonstrations against my coming. And I would like to say just one thing, and to those who demonstrate so. I wonder if they have ever asked themselves that if they should have the kind of government they apparently seek, no one would ever be able to do what they're doing again. “Reagan searches for the peace and freedom of the east Germany and west Germany. It has the similarity with what Lawrence has depicted inthis book. With the improvement of people’s moral aspects, the society could become better. If we use science and technology in a good way, it will benefit us as well. This is what I have got from this book, which is Lady Chatterley’s lover.。

Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of《英文读书报告》文章《英文读书报告》正文开始>>1.简爱Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century. The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London. The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings.I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill.To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end.One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs.Maylie and Rose and began a new life.He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty. How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness.I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty.Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person.Goodness is to humans what water is to fish.He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person.People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself. To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted.As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.Francis Bacon said in his essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. Therefore, I, a kind person, want to tell those ‘vermin-to-be’ to learn from the kind Oliver and regain the nature of goodness.2.双城记After reading “A tale of two cities”“A tale of two cities” is one of Dickens's most importantrepresentative works. The novel profoundly exposed the society contradiction before the French Revolution, intensely attacks the aristocratic social class is dissolute and cruel, and sincerely sympathizes with the depressed classes. The novel also described many magnificent scenes like the revolt people attacked Bastille and so on,which displayed people's great strength. The novel has portrayed many different people.Doctor Manette is honest and kind but suffers the persecution actually,Lucie is beautiful and gentle,Charles is graceful and noble,Lorry is upright and honest,Sydney is semblance of indifferent, innermost feelings of warm, unconventional but also selfless and lofty,Miss Pross is straightforward and loyal,Evremonde brothers are cruel and sinister......The complex hatred is hard to solve, the cruel revenge has made more hatreds, loves rebirth in the hell edge, but take the life as the price. As an outstanding writer,in Dickens's work, the language skill is essential. Each kind of rhetoric technique, like the analogy, the exaggeration, the contrast, the humorous, and the taunt are handled skillfully, and the artistry of the work is also delivered the peak.“A tale of two cities” has its difference with the general historical novel, its character and the main plot are all fictionalizes. With the broad real background of the French Revolution, the author take the fictional character Doctor Manette's experience as the main clue, interweaves the unjust charge, love and revenge three independences but also incident cross-correlation stories together, the plot is criss-crossed,and the clue is complex. The author use insert narrates, foreshadowing, upholstery and so many techniques, causes the structure integrity and strictness, the plot winding anxious and rich of theatrical nature,it displayed the remarkable artistic skill.the style “A tale of two cities” issolemnity and melancholy, fills indignantion, but lacks the humor of the early works.3. This year summer vacation, I read the American well-known writer Hemingway's novel “ old person and sea ”.I extremely admire in the novel the senior fisherman's will, he let me understand one person certainly must have relentless spirit, only then could obtain successfully. The novel description is one year near sixty years of age senior fisherman, when alone goes to sea in one fishing, fished one big fish, actually did not pull. The senior fisherman socialized several days after the fish, only then discovered this was the big marlin which one surpassed the oneself fishing boat several fold, although knew perfectly well very difficult to win, but still did not give up.Afterwards and further because in the big marlin wound fish fishy smell brought in several crowds of shark fish snatches the food, but the old person still did not hope like this to give up, finally highlighted encircles tightly, returned to the big fish belt the fishing port, lets other fishermen not admire already. When I read “ the senior fisherman think: Here to the seacoast really was too near, perhaps could have a bigger fish in a farther place...” When, I extremely admire this senior fisherman, because he by now already projected on some fish, but he had not settled to the present situation, but was approaches the bigger goal advance.Again has a look us, usually meets one slightly is difficult, we all complain incessantly. We will be the motherland future, will be supposed to like this old person same mind lofty aspiration, will even better pursue even better, the bigger goal. When I read “ the big marlin start fast to gather round the young fishing boat hover, twined the cable on the mast, the old person right hand lifted up high the steel fork, leapt the water surface in it the flash, did utmostthrows to its heart, one wail ended the big fish's life, it was static static floats on the water surface...” When, my heart also liked together the big stone falls.I extremely admire old person that kind do not dread, the relentless spirit, although knows the match strength is very strong, but he not slightly flinches, but is welcomes difficultly above.Just because had this kind of spirit, the senior fisherman only then achieved this life and death contest success. We also must study senior fisherman's spirit in life, handles the matter does not fear the difficulty, only then can obtain successfully. Was reading the big fish's smell of blood is smelled by one crowd of shark fish, struggled swims snatches the food, old person's left hand happen to in the convulsions, he only could use the right hand, with wooden stick, the mouth and so on all was allowed to use for the weapon self-defense which attacked, and finally expelled this crowd of shark fish. But the big fish's meat was already eaten one most, but the old person also charmingly criticized oneself the left hand “ this work time actually was resting ” time, I also was subdued by the old person optimistic spirit. In the life, some losses are inevitable, we should treat by the optimistic manner, cannot be calculating. Finally, the novel sees by one youth the senior fisherman fully has 18 foot long big marlin in the measure, once more described this fish's hugeness, explained senior fisherman overcomes the difficulty was big, non-was more common than. The novel eulogized the spirit which the senior fisherman fear hard and dangerous diligently did not struggle, we also should like his such, could not satisfy the present situation, should positively to above, do any matter all is relentless, meets difficultly must welcome difficultly above, could give up halfway in no way.Only has this, we only then can obtain a bigger success and the victory.4.

The Book Report of Lady Chatterley’s Lover Lady Chatterley’s Lover is a famous novel written by D.H. Lawrence.
D.H. Lawrence is UK’s modern novelist and he was considered to be one of the greatest writers of all time. He died at the age of 44. During his tw enty years’ creation, he had written a lot of wonderful works. Lady Chatt erley’s lover is one of them. This book aroused somany debates when it was published first. Because it contains the details of description for the sex. Before Lawrence passed away, he complained that his works would not be understood in 300 years. But ever since the 1960s of
the last century, his books had become popular among the readers.
In this book, Chatterley and Connie are the main characters. They a re husband and wife, but actually, they represent two different classes. C hatterley is cold and not enthusiastic, and he symbolizes a class that is lacking of vitality and near to death. However, Connie’s true lover in this book is very different in personality compared with Chatterley. He enjoys the nature and has a pleasant life. Connie is a healthy woman and she falls in love with Mellors. Her personality is very complicated. On one hand, she has been influenced by the society. On the other hand, she also enjoys the nature. The rules of the modern society restrain her love for the nature. She looked after her husband and discussed her husband’s writing. She had a very dull life, and th at is her whole life. The best way to get rid of this is to go back to nature. Nature is pure and the
only way to get happiness is to get rid of the sophistication brought by modern society.
This book’s main focus is for the men. In modern society, men became useless to a certain extent. Since in that time, men’s social status is higher than women, so men could represent the society in a certain w ay. The description is not only about the men, it is more about the indust rial wrence depicted sex deeply in this book, but besides the description, it is more about the reflection for history, religion and economy. This book was banned initially because of its description for sex, but finally this book was recognized. This book has a deep influence for contemporary British literature and even the modern literature so it was considered to be one of the classical books in the history.
Ths is what I have got from this book, which is Lady Chatterley’s lover.。
