比较级用于两个人或物的比较，最高级用于三个或三个以上的人或物。
一、形容词比较级、最高级的构成1.大多数词后直接加er或est：2.以e结尾的词，直接加r或st：3.以辅音字母加y结尾的词，变y为i，加er或est：4.以一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节，双写末尾辅音字母加er或est：5.多音节词和部分双音节词，在词的前面加more或most：6.不规则变化。
二、形容词比较级的用法1.表示两者比较时，用“比较级+ than”。

4.Which/Who + be + 比较级, A or B? “A和B哪个（谁）更……？”5.“the + 比较级+ of the two”表示“两者中比较……的一个”。
注意：比较级前面的修饰词：much，a lot，a bit，a little，far，even，still等。
三、形容词最高级的用法1.三个或三个以上的人或物比较时用最高级，最高级前面通常要用the，后面常有表示范围的in或of。
2.“one of the +形容词最高级+可数名词复数”：“最……的……之一”。
3.序数词、物主代词和名词所有格等限定词前面都可以修饰最高级。
四、含有形容词最高级的结构与含有形容词比较级的结构的转换“the + 形容词最高级+单数名词（+范围）”= “形容词比较级+ than any other + 单数名词（+范围）”= “形容词比较级+ than the other +复数名词（+范围）”He is the tallest boy in the class.= He is taller than any other bot in the class.= He is taller than the other boys in the class.数量的比较一、两者之间数量的比较1.more...than：“……比……多”。
