广安市罗渡中学2019中考英语:阅读理解编题(1)含答案【实战训练】 A(2019中考日常生活类训练)Have you ever seen a car without a driver? It sounds crazy, but these computer-driven driverless cars will soon be filling roads near you. Companies like Google and Tesla have been designing and testing these cars, and the technology is there. So how? The cars have sensors(感应器)all around which can find other cars and objects in the road. Road signs are read by cameras, and satellite navigation systems (卫星导航系统)are used so the car knows how to get where you want to go. All you have to do is type in the address! Finally, a central computer system takes in all the information that it receives from the sensors and cameras and works out when to speed up, stop and turn.Sound like your idea of heaven(天堂)? Sitting back, looking out of the windows and even watching a film or reading a book while ‘driving’ would be possible with this new technology. You wouldn’t have to worry about remembering directions to where you’re going. In addition, computers would also drive more safely than people — they would obey the rules and have quicker action times when in dangerous situations. However, there are many drawbacks of driverless cars. Computers would have difficulties making ethical(道德的)decisions: if a child ran into the road, would the computer choose to hit the child or turn suddenly and potentially kill the car’s passengers? Moreover, I personally find driving fun –I’d miss never driving a car myself. There would also be many other decisions to be made –should children, or drunk people, be allowed in a driverless car by themselves? Or would there need tobe a person with a driving license in the car at all times?I’m not certain I’d want a driverless car –but it’s only a matter of time before they’ll become more affordabl e and popular on our roads.1. When using a driverless car, you need only .A. read the road signs carefullyB. check the camerasC. put the address into the computerD. remember the directions2. The third paragraph mainly tells us about the of driverless cars.A. instructionsB. standardsC.advantages D. tests3. The underlined word “potentially” in Paragraph 4 means ““.A. possiblyB. successfullyC.especially D. naturally4. What’s the writer’s opinion about future driverless cars?A. They’ll cause more accidents.B. They’ll be lessexpensive.C. They’ll use less energy.D.They’ll run much faster. Is your schoolbag too heavy to carry? One cow can create 30 gallons of wastes each day. Now imagine the output of over 1,000 cows at Blue Farm. That’s really a big amount. When farmers clean their barns, they put the wastes in a big heap, and spread some of them on their fields for fertilizer(肥料). But now places like Blue Spruce Farm have a new way of using cow wastes. They use them to produce electricity. Here’s how it works: A big machine moves back and forth cleaning the barn floor. “The cows aren’t bothered,” says Marie Audet. “They are animals of ha bit; they get used to it, and just lift one foot and then another to let it go by.”The machine pushes the manure into a big 600gallon tank like a small swimming pool. The tank is called a digester(化粪池) because what happens there is just like what happens inside a cow: Bacteria(细菌) get to work and continue to digest the manure.Methane gas(甲烷、沼气)in the atmosphere is known as a “greenhouse” gas because it keeps heat just like a greenhouse does, causing our planet to warm up. That’s an environmental concern. But the digester has a good result. Its gas is kept and used to power electric generators(发电机).At Blue Farm, the generators make enough electricity to power 400 homes. The Audet family sells the extra electricity they can’t use themselves.( )1. We learn from the text that the Audet family is using cow wastes to ________.A. make electricityB. produce fertilizerC. build their farmD. feed the cows( )2.
