Unit 5 A birthday party.第一课时【教材分析】本单元的话题是谈论过生日，学习和了解用一般过去式询问他人日常活动的基本表达方式。
本单元在前两个单元的学习基础上，继续学习有关实意动词的一般过去时态，引导学生能理解并正确运用一般过去时的特殊疑问句及其回答等有关语言知识。
一般过去时态是小学英语学习阶段最后一个重点语法项目，也是一个难点语法项目，因此本册书总共占用了4个单元引导学生详细学习一般过去时。
关于讨论birthday 的话题，我们在六上的Unit11 My birthday is in April.中以一般现在时为主体时态已经有过一轮学习过程，这为本课的学习提供了更丰富的语言背景知识。
需要特殊说明的是本单元学习的是实意动词不规则变化的动词过去式，这在一定程度上增加了学习难度。
同时通过本单元对动词过去式的不规则变化的初步了解，也将为下一个单元的学习做好充分的准备。
【学情分析】六年级学生经过三年多的英语学习旅程，多数同学已经具备了一定的知识储备，也基本具备了初步运用英语交际的能力。
