二、教材解析本单元的主题是朋友，单元AB部分设置了向妈妈介绍自己的新朋友以及同学之间讨论猜测朋友的情景引入本单元学习，通过交流学习如何咨询同学、朋友的名字及其回应，学习描述朋友的外貌特征。
学生在三年级下期学习了描述动物的外貌特征，学习了一些简单的形容词如：big, small, long, short, tall等。
也学习了如何询问对方的名字，所以本单元学习难度不大，只要充分利用已有知识，设计有效的活动，学生会轻松掌握本单元的语言知识。
本单元另外两个重要的部分：Let’s spell 和Read and write. 其中语音部分将学习o-e 这一组合的发音规律，通过发音规律的学习，提升学生的见词能读的自主阅读能力。
在练习部分设计了字母o的短音和o-e组合的辨析活动，短音学习在三年级已经进行过，这样的对比练习可以让学生的学习更加综合和系统，可在热身部分进行短音的复习巩固，第一单元和第二单元学习了a-e，i-e字母组合的发音，这对于第三单元学习o-e是良好的铺垫，可以通过复习巩固引入新知，学习新知和复习巩固相结合，综合掌握字母拼读规则，为阅读打下基础。
Read and write部分主要是对本单元所学单词和句型的巩固，并且首次设计让学生进行看图选词、有意义的抄写活动，教师应利用这一部分指导学生正确书写单词。
